thank you and WOW! you just saved me $30!

  • Whoops, I duped this. Sorry.

Saved a bunch last sale. Only to have the BBQ I bought go on sale for half price around 2 months later! Do'h.

Anyway, please share any good items you find.

    • Grandhall? Had the same issue too. Mine went half price the week after their 30 day guarantee. Oh well awesome BBQ.

      • +1

Char Grill. Its still on sale cheaper than I paid.

        RRP $600
        Paid $540
        Sale was $300
        Currently $360

        But yeah, great BBQS.

  • -5

yeah after their $176 million dollar loss last financial year, it makes sense that they are having more sales.

    • +5

Most businesses take ages to make a profit… Have you seen how many stores they have opening… 42% increase in sales year on year. The sky is not falling.

      • +1

I was justifying as to why they are having increased sales. Masters should be profitable by now but Woolworths' poor management and excessive greed will lead to the demise of this franchise, probably will have the same fate as Dick eventually.

        • +1

Agreed management style of WW is partly to blame for that loss, but just imagine all the capital costs of acquiring such huge footprints stores, especially in established suburbs. It would take years to pay all that off. I reckon 175mil odd is hardly a material loss in the big scheme of things.

        • -2

went to the store one day, their stuff is just more expensive than competitors……
          wasted my time.

        • +3

          @edgar28:
          What stuff?
Have you not heard of their Best Price Guarantee?
Or are you just telling a story?

        • @Snoop:

too much hassle proving (waste of time for them to call up checking etc). especially the standard price from bunnings not on catalogue

example: the time i went there was the newspaper stated they have light bulb special at 5 dollars, when I reach there , there isn't such product space for it even……. and the rest is not so popular brand and more expensive.

then I compare with other products too…… then I gone back to Bunnings and buy it

    • -1

That's because Bunnings is in our blood lol

    • Their customer service is the worse I have been encountered, there is no surprise that they making loss.

      • +11

For what it's worth my experience is the opposite, had great customer service at masters

        • +8

Agreed, great customer service… But a distinct lack of knowledge on actual hardware items!

        • +3

          @Snoop:

Yep, their service is way better than Bunnings. I would prefer someone coming up to me asking if I need anything and then not knowing the answer to my questions than having to run after people at Bunnings.

        • yep great service here except when i've tried to be cheeky and order online to use vouchers whilst in store (what can i say OzB in my blood). They can never just grab the item and give it to me :P
but who's complaining, it's not for that!

        • +1

your kidding, you obviously have not been to the one in chullora

no one in there knows anything about hardware

        • @rorymeister:

I kinda get what you mean… But I don't see how this is any better. So you are saying it is okay to hire bunch of friendly blokes wandering the stores and ask if there's anything they could help but could not give a straight answer?

        • @wildstone:

          Yep! Maybe I'm just lonely.

        • +1

          @rorymeister:

Exactly. If i need help at bunnings it takes ages to find someone.

      • +3

        I agreed with lulabby:

        1. I have placed the click and collect order online and after a few days of no response from them I went down to the shop and the worker there had no idea what was happening. It had taken him a long time before he could work the computer system. I was frustrated as unnecessary time was wasted.

        2. I went to get a $500 tool box and there was one that I like but it was store on the top shelf. He told me to come back in a few hours as the assistance who can fetch it was no where to be found. I came back after a few hours and it was not ready. I was disheartened by the experience and bought a similar item from Bunnings.

        3. I placed another click and collect item and again after a few days of no response I went down to enquire. This time it was the worst. Two sheilas were talking to each other about their private life while serving me. As a result it took her much longer to find my order. She was upset when I have told her to pay more attention to my details. She finally told me there was a computer glitch and the item in question is no longer in stock as it was a run out item. I drove home knowing I can get no where with this girl. I called up and spoken to the store manager. He was no help either and claiming the girl was training another girl while serving me. I have told him that was a lie. The conversation between them was about what they did the other days outside work. He had told me the stock list was 5 when I made the order but it must have been stolen and was not accounted for. I have told him that does not make sense as when I went back online to order another one soon after the first order it had listed as out of stock.

All I can say is the staff there are very inexperience and it is not worth the trouble shopping there.

        • I'm not quite sure how you are placing your 'Click and Collect' orders, and I may be wrong, but every time I have placed an order, about 30+ times now thanks to OzB, I've had to pay for it immediately! Then waited till I recieved an email to say that it is ready for collection and gone down and grabbed it no problems!
The only thing I've found with the C&C is that if you purchase something larger that can't really just sit in a bag behind the service desk, is that they have to trundle off out the back to get it from a holding bay.
In saying that, it can sometimes take a little while and a couple of times they have come back to ask me what the item actually is or what it looks like. And although a little frustrated at times, I guess I can understand this from the brief product discriptions on the invoices, and the fact they probably stock well over 10,000 SKUs!

  • Giftcards?

    • Cant see them, gift card screen takes you to another web page to purchase a woolies card

    • +1

      Any link?

    • TPE is a wannabe! Get the real Honda!!

      • Mate exact same motor if you want to pay 1500 for a real honda with that stupid blade brake go ahead i hate that. It makes the mower heavier to turn .Of course i would buy a genuine honda if they still made without blade brake anyway from what i hear from mower shops that sell tpe they are good. And at $400 less i will take a punt.

        • Understand your perspctive but still see many forums mate and you'll know what I mean. TPE is not tested for Australian conditions and uses Honda China engines, and tradies still swear by the Honda. Moreover who's to say TPE are going to be around in 5 years time to honour their warranty but we can be assured that Honda will be. Anyhow read the reviews and comments before you make your 4-digit investment.

    • +1

Yes absolutely. When buying online you type the bardcode number in, it also saves it for future purchases when you log in to your account. (the 10% is taken off first, then the 5% off the discounted price).

  • Dyson dc37c for $355.50 with the 10% discount (the extra 5% isn't going to work by tomorrow).

    • +1

Get the ecard, emailed straightaway. You can buy the exact amount $355.50 but only pay $337.72 with the code.

  • Hrm, wonder if Bunnings will offer their 10% price beat guarantee on top of this deal?

  • So if i bought the DC59 Animal for $548. With discount $493.20. Would it be 5% of the 493.20 that gives me the ammount for the e-gift card i should purchase?

  • +1

Anyone have a Char-Broil Quantum Infrared BBQ? I am looking to purchase either a 2 or 3 burner. They are all on special. The reviews are very positive, but the I found the stainless steel a little too thin. The two burner will be down to $169.29 with the 5% e-gift card and 10% online discount.

    • i have the 3 burner and LOVE IT!
ignore the ppl banging out about rust, just burn it in with some oil and full ball for 15 mins or so
whipe it down and good to go
i also don't even clean the trays fully every time now, the heat is so good i just fire it up to turn everything crusty to ash and then scrape her down!

      • Sounds good. I saw some review about self cleaning function. What is that?

        • hrmm unsure. It can certainly get dirty when you put marinaded items all over it.
As i said though, once finished with it. Just fire it up max heat on all for 5 mins or so.
It'll all turn to charcoal and can easily be scraped off with the tool provided then :)

  • Just saved me $46.90 on a new front loader w/ 2 year protection plan; tyvm! :D

  • Don't forget you can get an extra 2% cash back from cashrewards
    https://www.cashrewards.com.au/masters

    • Unfortunately "Cashback may not be payable if you pay by gift card or if you purchase a gift card.".

    • Also, "If you use a coupon code that is not listed on this site, rewards may not be payable." "DADSDAY10" is not listed.

      • My bad then. Worth a shot still if you already have an account.

  • got myself a new cook top! saved $50. brilliant timing

  • Just saved $50 - thanks bud :)

  • Does anyone know if you can list the discount or clearance items on the Masters website ?
I can't find any links for it.

    • +1

They used to have a link on their site to the clearance items, but think it's since been removed. You can always type 'clearance items' in the search bar and it comes up with a few things!

Edit: Try this -> Clearanze Zone

      • Excellent thanks - exactly what I wanted.
I remember they used to have a link on their site too.

        • Most of the stuff on there is out of stock, but if you hunt around there's some great bargains!

  • Masters has been running a lot of promotions recently. At the beginning of the month Masters had a $20 voucher on $100 spend

There's not much I need right now so I'll just wait for Father Day to see more catalogue items on special.

  • +1

Finally bit the bullet and bought the DC44. As I was walking back from the PC I was thinking how I have wasted my money and we will never use it, but then walked through the Kitchen and looked down at the floor…
