  • TA is the man of the moment with this deal!
    Cheers!!

  • +2

How many votes are we at? Is this the Ozb record?

    • According to the stats, the most was the 15% off ebay
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/149368

      • That deal was way better than this, in retrospect. But this has almost that amount of votes and could surpass it.

      • …with 2441 votes.

  • Thanks TA, I selected the $5 but I got the confirmation at the end for the 70% off ebay, did anyone else get this? :/

  • Good form as always from the Tightest of Arses.

    Cheers mate!

    • Mr Arse, please!

  • thanks TA :)

  • This offer was first appeared at bitcoin forum 3 days ago.

    • +10

You knew 3 days ago, yet you didn't post it??

      • Because I didn't search it till your post came out. Thanks for the deal btw.

  • Thanks TA :) Appreciate it

  • Thanks. less than 1 minute

  • thanks for free $5 credit. Wow! is this the most voted deal here?

  • +3

Yeah. OzBargain record, and all it takes is $5??

    • +2

Yeah, I don't get it. I'm not knocking the deal but there is a lot of excitement over $5 credit with lots of terms and conditions on how you use it. Yet a deal like this offering twice as much credit and ongoing benefits only gets a quarter of the votes. Go figure.

      • A lot more variety on Ebay.
What else can you buy from SCA not related to cars?

        • +3

Plenty. It would be pretty easy to spend $10 on non-automotive products, say for use in the house. Tools, gardening, cleaning, buckets, lighting, electrical/electronics, phone chargers etc. to name a few.

        • @endotherm:
          Ahhh, never shopped there before.
Cheers, looks like I'll be making a visit this weekend…

    • Yep, growing community, hence the amount of upvotes. In the past there's been free $10 paypal credit a few times, but got no where near as many upvotes as this.

Top deal though, essentially any $5 item for free!

  • Love ya TA, along with with the 2000+ others on here.
I'd like to see you get some kind of recognition award for your service to the OzB community.
Would it be pedantic of me to point out that the title should mention "USD"?

    • It was previously contained in the title, however it is still delineated in the description and that should suffice…

Well he's won 7 x $100 gift cards so far this year so i think TA is being recognized for sure ;)

      • Does the ATO know about this extra 'ongoing' income? ;)

        • -2

I bet someone will report him.

  • $5 is $5

    Thanks!!!!

    • +16

      $5 is $5.35

  • +4

so, with 2000+ votes, has anyone received their $5?

  • +2

I like that the deal had so many upvotes that OzBargain couldn't even format it properly.

I suppose it supports the theory that money is the best gift (after um, love and stuff of course). At least on OzBargain.

  • Feels like the greatest ozbargain deal ever! Thanks TA!

  • +3

The link just takes me to my paypal homepage - I can't see any deal or offer anywhere :( #feelingdumb

  • mine doesn't work, after logged in , my paypal just appeared to normal page. nothing to click or continue (no ad at all). any idea?

  • Teah, you are right Jovin. Maybe Paypal paid too much. we are late. LOL. thanks

  • Well we got at least $180,000 out of them ;)

    • +1

That's chump change. I think they make that much every few minutes.

  • Anyone got the email yet?

    • Have you got an email?

      • not from PP.

"Yes, that is one of our web pages ^AM"

  • I think it's been well and truly Ozbargained - deal appears finished?

    • +1

It was slickdealed, ozbargain is small fry compared to them.

  • Got an error:
    Sorry.
    That page doesn’t exist.

    Trying again.

    • Still works fine for me.

      • +2

clear cookies/cache then visit https://www.paypal-activate.com/clac/eml-na-dt/cl-offer-eng-… and enter email address - $5 offer gone :(

deal updated with remaining ones which might still work :)

        • Worked in the end. The page redirected me to a login page, after that i got the error.
Revisiting worked ok as it remembered that i was logged in.

          All sorted, cheers.

has some scammer just got 2000+ email addresses?

    • +1

What makes you think that Fizzy?

      • +1

Because he didn't get to take advantage of the deal.
        There is always sore losers!

      • @iplau no, i wouldnt have missed out, was looking at it yesterday.

@ta maybe they have, maybe they havent. Paypal-activate just sounds suss, you need to register with your paypal email(obviously to where they credit your 5 bucks i know that)
But the thing for me is they email you in a week or 3???? Since when? Anything like that usually emails you the credit within a day. A week? Long enough to get enough addresses where noone worries till they dont get the email.. i see now though its no more. Maybe they have enough lol

But a good find nonetheless TA. Don't get me wrong!

  • -6

I submitted last night, no email since and my balance still 0 :(

  • +9

F.F.S. people, read the #@&%!# listing properly… It clearly states in the sub text of the listing:
You'll receive an email from PayPal within a week confirming your selection.
Come Monday the 15th September 2014, if you have not yet recieved your email, let's start jumping up and down then!!!

    • Calm down, the boat to naru is slowing departing soon

      • +7

Seriously, look at how many people have now made this, or a similar statement regarding not yet receiving it!
And to top it off, they grab the deal and don't even upvoted it!

Edit: By the way, it's Nauru. Thought I should probably let you know after seeing it twice now!

    • I've been jumping all morning but still don't see the credit in my account.

    • +3

      now you're just trolling, surely.

      • +1

        must have missed that boat!

        • +4

Which boat, the one to naru? ;)

        • +1

          @Snoop: yep naru ;)

  • -8

Did this yesterday day but no email?……..

    • +2

      pls stop

    • +1

You need an email address ending in na or nau or you won't get the credit.

  • As the deal (and accompanied votes) was originally for the $5 credit, this has been mark as expired.

    • +5

      Totally agree. Thanks moocher.

      • Thanks for understanding.

  • -3

has anyone got their $5 yet?

    • -2

Was wondering the exact same thing, either way someone is profiting from this deal.

      • +1

It won't come before this weekends eBay 15% off.

      • +1

ONE WEEK ONE WEEK ONE WEEK

        • +1

LOUDER next time please… So the people up the back can hear! ;)

  • Didn't get the $5.

  • +3

yep screw them, done survey on monday, and its now sunday & nuttin.

    Feeling like a used tampon.

  • +1

    I haven't got the 5

  • -3

woohoo I just got my $5.
Go check your account guys, if you don't have it, call them on +61 2 8223 9500 and they'll credit the $5 into your account.

    • Just spoke with PayPal…. I also got the $5 USD credit.

They explained the survey was supposed to be for US customers only and the survey was supposed to be via email invite only as well, but as a goodwill offer for completing the survey, they still credited me the $5USD.

    • +1

      Why was he/she negged?

  • Feeling doubtful…

    • I don't recall seeing on the page US customers only ?
      Did I miss that ?

      • +1

        Not that I saw.

I completed it with my AU & US account and haven't received a sausage from PayPal on either.

        • Put in an inquiry to PayPal and they will give you a call back.
That's what I did and as a goodwill offer for completing the survey I was given the credit.

  • +1

Don't want to change my vote on this quite yet, but anyway of reversing a positive vote on a deal to a negative if it comes to it ?

    • +1

you can reverse the positive vote but you won't be able to change it to a negative

  • +1

Just emailed them & they credited $5.38 AUD to my account. Looks like you'll need to follow up to get it credited.

    • What is PayPal's email address?
      Thanks
