I recently signed up for the free "My Dan Murphy's" card and received in the mail a Free voucher to redeem either 2 x 50ml Johnnie walker black label or 6 bottles of Crown golden ale or 1 bottle of McGuigan The brothers Shiraz at any physical store.

The small print says limited to one gift per member for the first 40,000 members.

Edit: As per this comment there is no bar code on the voucher so people without the voucher have been able to collect the freebie because after their Dan Murphy's card was scanned, the items were reduced to $0.

    Worked for me without voucher in South Melbourne. She had to manually enter in the discount but was happy to help.

    Tried it at Dan Murphy (Sydney West) and it didn't work. Got the the 2 x walker black label 50ml bottles and then used the temporary card from the Dan Murphy app. My membership was recognised but no discount. Tried once again but same result.

    Oh well. The cashier said to try when the actual card comes.

    Albany creek had trouble getting it to work. They said they only had 50% success rate getting the discount to apply, but were happy to put it through manually as $0 :).
    Used this plus got my 3x white rabbit 6 packs for $30 in the same transaction.

    No joy at Dan's Kingsford. Cashier was unwilling to manually adjust to zero. He was good about it though, tried putting it through as a separate transaction to my White Rabbits because he thought it was one offer per transaction. Even though I knew better.

    For what it's worth I didn't receive the voucher with my card. Cashier said offer was only targeted to specific cards (about 50% of members).

    Shrug.

    Seems the freebie is counted in part of the max 3 per day conditions. Bought 3 x Rabbit and a 'free' Crown but Crown came up as full price. Reduced the White Rabbit to 2 x 6 packs and the Crown then came down to zero.

    BYW it is not limited to 3 packs. I just bought a slab of the white rabbit for $40 no problemo.

    I just got my Dan Murphy card in the mail today, not voucher inside. What do I have to do to get the free offer? Do I just go into the store and ask?

    Sorry if this is a simple question, but I have read some of the above posts and I'm still a bit confused.

      There is no confusion.

      Grab a six pack of Crown Golden ale , grab some of the other bargains listed or anything else in store

      Go to front counter with your my dan murphy card and your purchases.
      if the golden ale does not get discounted to zero or similar then it up to you to keep or say oops changed my mind on that item ;)

    No luck for me. Got my card early last week without voucher. Scanned it in store yesterday and no discount came off :-( Left the beer behind, just got a gift card to get my Amex $50…

      Hey team teri, here's a tip. I signed up the wife and got her a card and just called up their hotline 1300 .
      The girl on the other end said sorry, but we've already had 40, 000 signed up for the dan murphy card so
      we cannot give you the free gifts. She then asked if I'd received the voucher which was supposed to come in the mail with the card, I said no but added that I didn't receive a voucher on my card weeks back and I was given a free gift.
      She spoke to the manager and came back advising the wife can receive one of 3 gifts. :).

      You just gotta ask firmly.

    Got the voucher but it seems that all the "gifts" have run out. When I add any of the gifts to the online basket it says "Not available for collection from ..(store)." Very poor form.

      You have to redeem the voucher IN store (not online).

        So, they do have them in the store? My online account reduces the gifts to $0 then says they aren't available. They were available last week online to click and collect but I couldn't get to the store (I wanted to collect them).

          There are 2 online availability indicators (1. In-store; and 2. Click & Collect).

          For example, my local store has Crown Golden Ale as Available In-store, but Unavailable for Click & Collect.

    Just worked for me at Strathpine. I didn't have the voucher, and it didn't come down to zero when they scanned it, but the manager was happy to manually adjust it :-)

    I know this is marked as expired but I emailed a complaint as I received neither coupons and yet joined in the initial period. For reference, this is the response:

    Thanks for your note on the My Dan Murphy's program.

    Unfortunately the free gift offer was limited to the first 40,000 members and went quite quickly.

    We appreciate your feedback.

    I should point out that I asked about BOTH new member coupons and why I had received neither (even though I had joined during the period). I also asked if I could gain a new coupon for the Crown seeing as I did not get one for the Johnnie Walker.

    I then got this second email, which appears to be from someone else.

    Dear XXXXX

    Thank you for your recent enquiry.

    We can confirm that a free voucher was sent out to the first 40,000 customers who registered with My Dan Murphy's. However, please be aware this was not done in an attempt to disadvantage any of our customers, only to promote the new My Dan Murphys online reward system.

    No more free offeres are being sent out however there are vouchers for Crown Lager located on your My Dan Murphys account under the My Offers link on the left hand side of the page.

    Thinking that this may mean they sent me a voucher, all they were doing was referring me to spend $99 on their Crown offer.

    Seriously, had enough. I'd honestly rather pay a little more, get better range and service than put up with this rubbish!
