not really a good deal for the LG g2, I would prefer to pay extra $$ and get G3

  • +1

Good price for the Sony action cam, it would be great if you could get the $50 trade in too.

    • They appear to have fixed it so you can't click and collect at the same price.

  • +1

does anyone know if the canon 1200d comes with the Is lens

    • with a 18-55 III lens

  • What are the min spends for each coupon?

    • +1

The usual, I will put in post for you

  • Where is the Samsung Gear they have on special lasttime hmmm

    • It sold out

  • -1

Any recommendations on a TV please? Reviews are not good enough.

  • $309 lowest ever I believe on the Lumia 735.

The temptation is getting stronger…if it hits the $200 range with the voucher before the expiry I might have to pony up…

    • +1

it's taken a month to get this code to work on the 735, they usually exclude it when it's on special

  • Is this a good deal, $260 for the dse 40" TV? I'm after a no frills basic tv that's a decent size.

    • +1

Yeah for that price it is worth it. Big W has same size for $299 and they are basically the same quality.

  • +1

Is that particular model of Kindle Paperwhite a good price for $139? I'm completely swamped by all the different models and revisions of the Kindles and I've never actually played around with an e-reader before. Want to get one for my sister who currently reads e-books on her phone… Thanks.

    • +1

That model is the new 4GB One, the old one had 2GB

      • +1

Thanks. Also does anyone know if Kindle e-readers work with books from libraries that use "overdrive"? (I do know how to use Google, but the overdrive site says that kindle books for overdrive only available in US. I know lots of Aussie libraries use overdrive, so thought someone here might have tried it before. Thanks)

        • +1

Lasat I checked, not officially, though there's apparently a hacky way to convert the books which kinda works sometimes. My grandparents' library uses Overdrive, and they had Kindles - ended up buying Sony e-readers for their library books, ie for them, anything from the library is on the Sony, anything purchased permanently is on the Kindle.

You can even set it up to borrow direct from the library via the Sony's screen, though due to the screen's slow response and monochrome display, it's pretty bad, so they tend to use their computer.

It's good to have Trent86 back with examples and links for the DSE deals. Thanks for the effort.

    • +8

Yeah gotta filter through all the crap :)

  • Perfect timing! I'm looking for cheap 40" TV and DS has the following two:
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tvs/dick-smith-39-5-fhd-dled-tv-…
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tvs/dick-smith-40-101-5cm-full-h…

    Anyone have any recommendations?

    • +1

The 40" is pretty popular on ozbargain if your using it for Basic use then it should work well

    • Just been in-store, the 39.5" is the newer model. Looks a nicer TV, better stand instead of solid black base. THats what I bought. IMO

      • +1

I hope you got it online

        • +7

          Yep :). AND
…clicked through Velocity Store for 4x pts
…and used the 7.5% off BigW Gift Cards
…which I had to race to Woolworths to convert to Gift Cards (ECards not valid DSE!)
…then race home to finalise checkout
Also had to buy http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tools-hobbyist/dse-6pc-jeweller-… for $4.98 as there was nothing click&collect in Hobart for $1

          …………PHEW
          Did I miss anything ?

        • @Coops1:

          Hi mate,
Do u know whether this TV is wall mountable?

If yes, where could I get it from?

It seems the 39.5" model looks nicer with slimmer bezel. Can the stand of this change its angels? (In the picture it looks like about 45*)

        • @willxiao0790:

It says NO in the specs….didn't look like it either, the width varied as there was a third of the back which protruded out further. Picking it up tomorrow, will let you know if there is a chance.

        • +1

          @Coops1: LOL Nope :)

        • @TRENT86:
Sorry forgot to say that the BigW ecards were bought on the ANZ Amex, achieving 1.5pts per $ spent, and ANZ offer of 50k free QFF pts posted today as well. Gotta love OZB and AFF :)

        • @Coops1: Your on top of things :)

        • @Coops1: off topic. I cant find the 50k anz bonus point deal. Do you have the link?

        • @IMBI3:

50k offer finished a few months ago
          The offer is 25k now

See link below for a number of threads….
          http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/current-…

        • +1

          @willxiao0790:

The 39.5" is wall mountable, standard 200x100 VESA holes and screws. No idea about what mount to get though.

Btw, great TV for $260, setup and working with the Xbox beautifully, much better than the 23" LG which was a free bonus from a laptop promo a few years ago.

        • @Coops1:

          Great! Thanks mate.

Is the stand (2 legs) adjustable inwards?

Since the TV cupboard in my bedroom is pretty small? Its surface is only about 62cm, I'm afraid that its stand can't fit in.

What is the width of its stand (the distance between 2 legs)?

The 40" with Solid base stand should be OK but this model looks so nice.

        • +1

          @willxiao0790:
Not adjustable as such, widest distance is 59.5cm from end of stand legs at front.
There is hardly any height from bottom of legs to TV itself, so if solid shelf open at ends your ok.

You could swap the stand ends so they face inward (not safe though), maybe 45cn.

          Hope that makes sense.

        • @Coops1:

Thanks so much for your info.

I'm placing my order now. :)

          Cheers

  • Does anyone know if the sony as20 have nfc or not ? Google and some say yes , some say no

    • +3

The AS20 is a AS15 with an updated battery compartment. No more battery tray (which was a HUGE problem with AS10/15) The AS20 has simple WiFi connectivity for the Live view remote and play memoires Mobile. Sony's official .au .uk and .com stores do not list this as having NFC/GPS. I own all action cam models except the mini, and my AS20 does not have NFC/GPS like my AS10 & AS15. My AS30 & AS100 do.

      • thanks Awsam.i should cancel the order as i want the nfc.

        • Sounds like u should just buy one of Awsam since he is probably able to offload one having 4? :)

  • The Changhong 40" is an awesome deal for $329 after the $40 discount coupon, since it's already on special, comes with a three year warranty as well. I bought one for a bit more during a previous sale!

    • Do you have a link for this? I can't find on the website except a 40" changhong for $499?

    • Is the tv any good. Picture quality and the like? Im looking at getting one and this one appeals to me over the dse one for the 3 year warranty

      • It looks awesome to me, but I was using an old 22" computer screen before this! Have it hooked up to an Intel nuc, had to change a setting to fix overscan but now running great, I do notice a slight vignetting at the edges not sure if that's due to the nuc output, I don't watch actual TV so don't know if it's present then too

  • -1

if you buy Canon Ixus145 & 1200D 89+429-260 You can Get it for $258 and if TRS can be claimed another $41 which will make $216 for basic SLR + point and shoot camera

    • WHAT!

  • -1

Yeah looks right, bloody good deal… Dick will give you $40 on the Ixus also…

    • +2

Actually no, your claim will be doubled of you purchased an additional $200 worth of goods, so claim the Ixus and 1200D you get $40 if you claim the 1200D you didn't spend an additional $200 as the Ixus doesn't cost $200…

      • Yes you are right. you end up paying 338 and $297 if claiming TRS for both cameras

  • -2

The Canon EOS 1200D can't take better photo than those new smart phones from SONY or Samsung IMO. It's not even worth to spend $150 on it.

    • Holy shit they have optical zoom now!?!?!

      • -1

I was talking about the photo quality. I can add a 12x zoom attachment on my smart phone.

    • +1

Maybe you don't know how to use it properly. I have the 1100 and it's good enough for a beginner

  • -2

Not a good deal on G2

    http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/lg-g2-d802-4g-lte-32gb-black/ $389+del for black

https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/lg-g2-d802-4g-lte-32gb-white/ $419+del for the white one.

Del looks expensive around $23 for where i live

the cannon camera looks very good

    • Grey import so it should be a fair bit less.

  • Need a kindle, but I've got a feeling they'll plummet after xmas any thoughts on that?

    • They are new so unlikely

  • Anyone know anything about the Huawei talkband? Looks interesting

    • There are a couple of video reviews on Youtube - interesting product but still overpriced IMO. Will probably buy if it's < $80.

  • Awww I just spend $239 full price for my AS20 only 2 days ago. This hurts.

  • How is cannon camera guys?
any chance we can get it cheaper before Xmas?

  • Whats a good $1 or cheap item to add?

  • Has the 1200D price gone up? It's 599 when I follow the link which makes it 499 after CB. Or am I missing something?

Edit: some prices not live yet explains it. So when is the 1200D price live?

    • Yeah shows as $599, not sure how OP find it at $289 after $100 CB.

      • It was a Saturday only deal

  • anything worth buying at $99?

  • price went up for as20 ? :/

  • The price of canon 1200d is $599. How it is $289 after discount code amd cashback?

  • The prices of the AS20 and Canon 1200d are alot higher than what's in the post, are we waiting for the prices to change or have they fixed them since yesterday?

    • The Canon 1200d was 429 yesterday, so with the cashback and the 40 off it worked out to 289, they changed the price to 599 this morning.

  • code doesnt work?

  • Code isn't working for me either- I've entered it at the checkout

    • Works fine here, are you spending the required minimum?

      • Yep- I was buying the kindle for $159. I never got it working unfort, but I sent DSE a message saying I had the error. I wonder if they'll honor it today…

    • Note the exclusions too:

      "Excludes Apple, Beats by Dre, Kindle, GoPro, Logitech UE Boom (C7626, C7627, C7630, C7629, C7759, C7628) Samsung Tab S (TA8058, TA8059, TA8060, TA8061, TA8062, TA8063, TA8067, TA8068, TA8069, TA8070, TA8071, TA8072), Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (EM5356, EM5362, EM5361, EM5357), Samsung Galaxy Edge (EM5359, EM5360), Samsung Galaxy Alpha (EM5337, EM5336), Toshiba Notebooks, Samsung & LG TVs, ASUS 10.1" T100TA-DK003H Touch Transformer Book (XC9233), HP Pavilion 11-n008TU X360 Touchscreen Convertible (XC0228), ASUS ME70CX-1A 7" Tablet Black (TA7032), Chromecast (XH1443), Gaming Consoles, Software, Accessories & Gaming Pre-orders, Gift Cards, and Prepaid Mobile products."

I'm having a lot of trouble finding a $10 item to go with the Pebble. :(

      Any ideas?

      • The exclusions are in post

  • Can you help me ? here the action can is $239, how can i get the low price? Thank you !

    • +1

OK Guys the price on the Canon 1200D is still meant to be $289 after cashback and code, the picture was in the Saturday paper and ends 8th so DSE have to honour this deal

      • Do you have the picture?

Also does this include the Action Cam?

The curse of Christmas presents, thanks for the post :)

  • Not sure of etiquette here to reply in this thread or even if its a bargain but I wanted the 1200D as a Christmas present for my wife so I bought from kogan. $499 for a twin lens kit plus 44 post coz I live in the sticks lol.

    https://m.kogan.com/au/buy/canon-eos-1200d-dslr-camera-18-55…

Also from another ozbargain thread the 600d is on sale at bigw this week

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/173515

    Cheers

  • I tried buying the Kindle and the code didnt work (on Sunday).

I emailed dse and they responded saying the Kindle was ineligible for the BELLS20 promotion.

That isn't true-can someone please upload their receipt of the kindle? Thanks

  • +1

I ended up paying $69 for my black Pebble: ordered energizer batteries to get over $99 ($89 + $10.48), applied the $20 discount code to pay $79.48 with click-and-collect. However, I got a call from the DS store saying that they didn't have the batteries in stock, so they gave me the option of taking a refund for the batteries. So 79.48 - 10.48 = 69. :D

    • Nice one…..did the same with woolworths, ended up getting a $40 credit, but kept the $20 discount that was applied above $100. So $20 off $60.
