could you order online and select pickup?

    • +11

      Check date.

      • +2

        Doh! too quick. :)

        • It can be used online, but still might be targeted as you need your EDR card.

    • Lol wow you were pretty quick to check it out!

  • +3

Amend the date in the heading :)

  • +3

    I've set a reminder…

    No alternative for Tassie :(

    • +16

Now has never been a better time for independence.

      • +4

        They aren't even Australia.

      • heh you'll/they'll need to start cutting down those old growth forest…

        Tassie The Subsidised State…

        P.S I love MONA

    • What's a Tassie?

      • Tasmania.

    • Coles is the alternative.. they don't have different, crappier offers for Tas

    • +2

The alternative for Tasmanians is the mainland. Come and join us.

      • +5

We like being separate it keeps the riff raff out….or should I say in ;)

      • -1

They once did but decided to separate because of the poor humour.

      • or NZ

        • Yes, we mustn't forget Australia's eastern island states.

I only just discovered that on the weekend with my first visit to hobart, I scanned my EDR card at WOW at self service and the machine couldn't handle it and an operator was required to fix it, she said "did you scan your everyday rewards card?" to which I replied yes, then she proceeded to tell me they have a different rewards system, that's just downright weird of Woolworths.

      • I had the same experience when visiting Tassie 9 months ago, and they told me that, supposedly, the systems "would be combined in next few weeks"! (obviously not so)

One good thing, however is that they were able to honour at Woolworths Petrol, my vouchers earned on the mainland. How it can work one way, but not the other is strange.

        • ssmith3104 they told me the same 8 years ago :)

    • you have shops down there? I assumed some guy just tied containers to his donkey and walked town to town

  • +8

Coles is way behind the times when it comes to online

    • +3

I would disagree. Better interface online, quite a few`areas Woolworths won't deliver to that they do & they're not losing as much in stores so they aren't desperate to close them down. Discounts aren't success, they're bets on future profit.

      • +3

I find it a lot easier to find items on the Woolworths interface. As per discounts, if Woolworths' special prices were higher than Coles' you'd be right, but they're pretty even. 10-20% off adds up quite fast.

        • My Coles rebate deal was 25%. That did add up fast & you've missed the point completely on the discount comment. It wasn't a partisan argument/ I'm pro Ozbargainers, not pro duopoly.

    • +2

Personally I agree, I used to shop coles online, changed over a month or so ago because of the recent battle of ozbargain and wollies codes saga, woolies for me easier and faster to use and much better in there pricing

      • +6

plus green is a friendlier colour than red

        • +1

          red scares me
          coles should go blue

        • @banzini: I went blue at our last family Christmas. Nanna didn't appreciate it

    • +1

Coles you must sign for delivery everytime.
Woolies just add a note during checkout, and you dont have to be home. Twice buying wine I didn't have to sign or even answer door.
Coles lost my business for this reason, as it's impractical to wait around four hours (they've been two hours either side of deliv. window plenty of times).

All in all I like ColesOnline much better, eg delivery costs, more often get everything u ordered, less markups than WOW. But wow's website is much better to use I found.

Opal top up time or it will be when this is active

    • +1

Apply on opal topping up again?

  • +2

nice! hopefully something good will be on special then!

  • Looks like a targeted offer (sent in mail to OP) - needs EDR card to redeem. Often offers are associated with a particular EDR card. Worth trying code online.

Time to check our mail for physical voucher.

    • +3

I've received replicas to both residents of the household. Can't confirm whether it is targeted though.

  • +1

Enter code SAVE20R24 at checkout when you spend $120 or more. Hurry, offer ends 16 December 2014* First time orders

    grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    • +4

Because you clearly didn't read all the relevant details.

Edit: Nice ninja edit. Guess you figured it out :P

  • -2

Wait don't Woolworths sell vouchers for JB HIFI and a whole bunch of other places?

Couldn't we stack $20 off $100 vouchers then wait for a sale?

    • +4

Gift cards are excluded as per T&C's.

  • Nice opal here I come, time to top up $1000 saving $200!

    • Not sure if Opal topup will work. T&C's says excludes some services.

    • +2

Max you can put in opal $250

      • If it works similar GoCard in SE QLD, just get multiple cards & topup each to avoid limits. Worked great on an OB deal. Unfortunately GoCard topups are at newsagents, not Woolies.

        • You could, but then you need to be careful with use so you get the benefit of free trips/maximum charges.

        • @mskeggs:
Always know the rules to maximise your benefit. (OzBargain mantra)
Just use 1 card in 1 period to maximise benefit.

I took a new GoCard with me overseas. If I lose that card, I can easily transfer the balance onto another card. When I arrive back, I have the card to pay for transport home.

        • You can top up Opal cards at some Woolies, like Town Hall in Sydney.

    • +4

Don't forget to use Entertainment Book BigW 7.5% discount egift cards, you'll save another $75

      • +1

You can use Big W gift cards at woolworths?

        • +3

Yep, tried it last week and it works.

  • Don't forget the current $20 off $100 spend offer https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/173106

    • You have to pay to be a member for that one?

      • Some have said their codes are reusable. There may be some willing to share with others. I would but I haven't placed my order yet.

  • Opal should work cause it's same deal as last time which worked.

  • Woolies online is a shambles

    • +5

chaos and disorder are my friends

      • Yeah well it got me 4x$20 cartons of Asahi so I'm not complaining ;)

        • how

        • +2

i landed 4 slabs of Asahi for free :) my world is a little more chaotic

        • @knackers: yeah, but MaccDogg didn't have to put out for his

  • Thanks OP. Woolies is securing customers for Christmas spending.

  • +1

Does this mean I can print this out and use it in store to top up my opal card?

    • +1

Technically no, you need the original as per terms and conditions. Though this depends on staff, where these coupons are just dumped in the bin depending on the store and how overbearing the service manager is to their staff. Some require them, some don't care.

My preference is to just dump them, so if you're really nice to the staff, even the barcode would just work tbh. But generally just have a printout to not be a pain….If it doesn't work, don't get abusive since it may not be your card…

As per using these on Opal, they work, so you can combine your vouchers to get the most discounts! I do that myself!

      • Thanks.. will give it a try regardless

      • The whole need a EDR thing, do the scan your EDR then the coupon, or you just have to present that you have one?

  • very good one if everyone can use it

  • Has anyone attempting stacking of coupons as per previous deals?

  • Thank you for this!!

  • The coupon says original coupons only, photocopies not accepted. I think it's a good idea to check with the cashier first before making any purchase to avoid disappointment.

  • -2

    The online code won't working

  • I have printed the coupon but on the coupon it says: ORIGINAL COPY ONLY- PHOTOCOPIES WON'T BE ACCEPTED !!!!

    • Surely a printed out coupon will still get through? Does anyone know if this will work on self service checkout machines?

  • +1

I am waiting (impatiently) for the 22nd. What a long lead up time!!

  • I just received an email for the same offer details but $10 off $100 spend. I had to activate the offer and so it might be targeted. Code 10forxmas. Worth a try if 20forxmas doesn't work for you.

    • Thanks for the update. Im sure there are many here waiting to see what happens with this coupon tomorrow.

  • Hi all I'm new here. Does $20 off $100 mean it's capped at $20 discount so long as the total is $100 or more, or does it mean 20% off total price? Thanks.

    • It's $20 off, not 20% off.

    • +2

      1 - Spend $101.00 = total bill will revert to $81.00
      2 - Spend $221.00 = total bill will revert to $201.00

In the past it's been purely anything over $100 has automatically been reduced by $20, so biggest reduction will be 20% IF your bill is exactly $100 - the % saving reduces (per dollar spend) as you work your way beyond $100.00

  • No this code is not stackable with any others

  • worked for me of the online code. Cheers

  • 20forxmas works. 10forxmas also works but they are not stackable. IE cannot use together!

    • +3

      IE cannot use together!

      How about firefox?
