Hi everybody, just wondering what people think of this TV? Need a good 50" and this seems like a bargain from Dick Smith's Boxing Day Sale. Received the Boxing Day catalogue today which is great so I don't make a pre Christmas purchase I'll regret.

I got an lg 3d and the Sony wins in everyway. Some files with slightly poorer download quality stopped playing on my lg but my inlaw's Sony didn't even feel a thing.
This TV says it's "Wifi Direct" that does not mean it has built-in wifi correct? Does this mean you need to purchase a separate thing to be able to connect to the internet?
It means u can connect your phone directly to the tv ad-hoc and stream etc.. it also has a regular wifi function to connect to a router.
Can somebody confirm whether it actually comes with the allbeit useless wall mount (per comments above). The Sony webpage first says yes(easy wall mount solution included) then as you read down it says the wall mount is only available for the W700B 42" and 32".

I don't have this TV, but according to the website it says as you mentioned:
"Only available for W700B (42" and 32") and W800B (50" and 42")."
So it isn't available on the W700B 50"
Yes. The table stand converts into a hook style wall mount and there's 2 wall hooks in the box. So you hang it like a picture frame instead of a vesa mount
So it comes with a mount system? If it does I'll buy it right now. I dont wanna hassle over spending time to find something which custom fits this or buy a $150 Sony one.

Well this has Motionflow XR 400 which is older than Motionflow XR 200 which the 48 inch has. This also has 100Hz Refresh Rate, but the 48" has 50Hz. Having a 100Hz will introduce input lag when gaming, but makes the video smoother, some people find it unnatural though. That's as far as I can remember.

Ordered morning of the 24th 8:20am WST then got an email in the arvo saying my order was on hold and to call them up to confirm my identity. Call centre was closed by the time I saw the email so had to wait till they opened again on the morning after Christmas.

I personally have yet to receive any official email from DJ/DS. DS in Ozbargin is kind enough to provide some feedback (i.e. I should expect delivery early this week) but it is hardly reassuring.
Just as an update to others who are also waiting on delivery - I order one on Xmas Eve and today I received an email from DS stating that my order has been picked and will be dispatched today and that I should receive it within 4 business days.

How is this Sony TV at playing video files from USB?
I've heard that LG and Samsung TVs support a lot more video codecs and play most MKV and AVI files fine.
