20c / FREE for a Frozen Drink (Wed) & Coffee (Fri) @ Woolworths Petrol (App & Transaction Req)

290

On my Android Woolworths "Fuel" app I found under the "Home" menu at the bottom of the screen the reference to the 20c drinks.
If you click on the 20c images or look under the "Offers & Fuel Vouchers" menu, it then says they are FREE (Frozen Drinks on Wednesday and large Coffee on Fridays).
I could not find a mention of frozen drink size, dates, T & Cs or anything else anywhere else so Im not sure if they are 20c, free or even currently valid. Guess I will find out on Wed ;)

Updates:
App Stores say "Simply choose an offer on your screen and redeem it at a participating Caltex Woolworths outlet. It is that easy!" I cant find a mention on whether a purchase is required or not.

Thanks to @nisarg who found the T & Cs under (i) in app. Not as good as first thought :(
Offer can only be redeemed once per "transaction". Limit of one offer per person.
Limited stores as per list in (i).
Frozen Drink offer valid until 28/01/2015 11:59pm
Large Coffee offer valid until 30/01/2015 11:59pm

  • Does it require a purchase ?

  • I don't believe any purchase is required. When you see the deals in the app, they both say free but on the day each deal is redeemable they both say 20c. I thought about getting it the other Wednesday, but when I was filling up with fuel at 6am I didn't really feel like a freezie…

After opening the 20c frozen drink page on upper right corner of page there is a symbol of (i). That will provide list of stores and other conditions.

I got the 20c coffee, a few weeks ago. The attendant kept trying to convince me it's '20c off' not 20c total price for the coffee. After many minutes of trying to correct his (mis-)understanding of English eventually he gave it to me for free*, the coffee didn't taste any better than an instant from home and a short while after, mild diarrhoea.

    Individual results may vary.

*I didn't want it for free I simply wanted what was advertised, 20c coffee.

Not exactly a win-win. Free diarrhoea is not a bargain in my books!

Did he make the coffee for you or did you pour it yourself? You may have received a bonus inside as a thank-you for his troubles…

If he was of Indian extraction, there are well known toilet hygiene "issues".
(its normal for them to use the palm of their hands to wipe)
That'll give you all kinds of freebies.

        Self-serve machine.

I just think it was cheap, crap, coffee.

I have never heard of cheap coffee giving diarrhea unless you have and allergy. Poor hygiene practices when filling the machine or incorrect storage of the milk would, no worries.

        • @King Tightarse:

No allergies, but not a big coffee drinker either.

I don't know the hygiene practices (of the business) or who stocked up the machine, so it's possible. Just glad I didn't get gastro then.

        • @nismo: Coffee generally makes you go to the toilet so if you aren't a regular coffee drinker (or particular sensitive) then it could potentially give you the runs regardless of how it was prepared.

        • @jzdhgkd:
I used to drink around 3 cups a day, never had an issue. Since May last year, I'm now a 1 coffee a day person, no issues. The only coffee that gave me the runs anytime in the last couple of years was this one.. And that was my only coffee on that particular day.

        • @nismo: Hah well if the glove fits the hand…

  • our local woolies fuel doesnt have frozen drinks or coffee, purely a fuel and simple things like coke, milk, ice creams thats it.

  • I redeemed a frozen coke a few wks ago. No purchase required. All they do is scan the app and done - free drink!

    • Thanks for letting us know.

  • Kind of dodgy, it clearly says free on the app's offers page on my sister's phone and here's what happened

So she scanned her everyday rewards card and was told to pay $1, even though it showed $0.01 (1c, which is basically free) on the counter, the attendant insisted it's $1, not 1c. Whether or not the attendant went to school to learn basic decimals values, who knows, but after about 5minutes of convincing by showing her the phone and the attendant checking stuff, she offered to sell at 5c, still not exactly FREE, but no one can be really bothered arguing about 5c when there's a line of people waiting in queue, so my sister reluctantly gave her the 5c and left

Also, because it shows as 1c on the counter, it will also add 1c to your petrol and/or purchases made at the station, no big deal, but definitely not 100% free
