Is it just me or does it look like that mop won't fit in that bucket?

    • i thought so too

        • Great YouTube vid. Shame I can't understand what she's saying (or what the sub-titles say either).

But I do have to say that I'm impressed by how excited she is - especially when she discovers the feature at around the 25 second mark of the clip!

        • @quakka: I can't understand either. But you don't have to understand because it's obviously just a simple stuff

    • +1

I think you meant to remove the plastic before putting the cloth into the bucket.

    • +1

Bought today, it's a little finicky but long story short the mop folds in half at the press of a button and then it fits inside the bucket spinner which you then spin with a foot pedal to remove the excess water. It's a little bit more effort than an old school mop but does a better job and covers more floor area so definitely better overall. If the cash back comes through then I'm happy as.

      • would you recommend the mop

        • +1

The flat mop is great, you can also use a standard mop with the bucket too so you have options. As a pair they aren't the best match especially given they are marketed together. But hey for $20 awesome. Thats about all the discussion i can handle on mops.

    • The sides flip up to into a square shape sort of.

  • whats the difference between the 4 and 5.
I would just wait for 6

    • +11

I heard the 6 will have a Quad core CPU (Cleaning Pod Utility)

      • and 3G RAM…LOL

    • +1

I'll be happy to wait for the 5s

      • Early internet chatter hints that the 5s will be the best one EVER, high Def and quicker. It bends in the middle too, great for midgets! :)

  • anyone can comment on the quality of the mop

    • one word PREMIUM

spoiler: If you trust the manufacturer

    • couldn't find many concrete, unbiased reviews but from what I see it should be well worth the $20

    • Stick with a mop that looks like a mop imo

  • $20 back says this … *Excludes items purchased as a boxed set, products must be purchased as separately barcoded items.
so does that mean it isnt included as you are not purchasing both.

    • I think the Woolies one is not in into box because it said buy this get this free.

    • +1

Fair comment. The items aren't 'boxed' as such, but I interpreted the conditions to state that both items have to be purchased, and that they had to be 'specially marked'. In any case, if one of them is received free it's not technically a 'purchase', but I guess that's up to the promoter. However, their terms do state that the offer cannot be taken in conjunction with any other offer.

    • I'm thinking you're right, because the bucket has not been purchased.

  • Which one is better?

better off buying 2 of this deal instead of a $13 refil

  • "The Cash Back offer amount is paid by way of Australian Dollars, which will be
delivered to the address provided on the redemption form."

Looks like they haven't changed the way they do their cash back. They send cash through the post via regular mail, not registered.

    • Woolworths does the same, Cash for easter is sent via Regular Post
Norton cashback cheque's is sent via regular post.

      Etc etc

      • Are you serious, Cash in the post?

      • Cash, really? Thought they would issue a wish card. Cheque is a lot safer than cash though. Unlikely your postie will be able to bank a cheque made out to easterculture.

        • Cash for easter promo as a Wish gift card i meant

    T&C
    8. Multiple claims are permitted subject to the following; (a) only one claim permitted per purchase requirement; and (b) each claim must be submitted separately in accordance with the entry requirements.

As easternculture pointed out, buying a second set is not much more than cost of replacement mop head.

Mop+Bucket Coupon in Woolworths Fresh magazine, p67 (second last page).

  • I never thought I could ever get excited about cleaning but this deal is almost making me drool. Thanks OP!

  • Hi,

So if I use the coupon and get the bucket free, would I still qualify for the cashback since the bucket is not purchase? It says purchase mop and bucket. And the price online for the mop is $42.99 and bucket is $32.24. My interpretation is $75.23 and claim$20 cashback so it will be $55.23. Please confirm.

    • If you want a definitive answer you'll have to wait until 90 days after someone claims.

Failing that, it's up to you to decide whether or not you're purchasing the bucket. Methinks not

    • Yes you will still get the cashback as the bucket will turn up on the receipt (at $0.00 due to the coupon). Therefore you have evidence that you have purchased BOTH, and will be elegible for the cashback

      • +1

correct my receipt shows two separate line items for the mop and bucket at usual price then the coupon offer rebate so this 'should' be legit for cashback

Don't go to Mill Park Stables for one - the handle was broken. One complete set (mop and bucket) left at Bundoora Polaris.

  • Does anyone know if Woolies accept print outs of the voucher, or does it have to be an official cutout from the maagazine?

    • Report in deal description of printed code accepted.
Could do click n collect with code. It's a $40 purchase. Although receipt may be a possible issue.

      • Thanks for that, I tried using the code for a click and collect, but the site rejected it.

    • I printed and used the voucher

      • I picked up a free Fresh magazine at the service counter for voucher, on way into store. Far easier & cheaper than printing & no chance of refusal.

    • I showed the voucher on my smartphone and there was no problem.

  • I have my doubts with condition "offer cannot be taken in conjunction with any other offer". Although, the promotions are run by different parties and don't really harm each others interests.

Anybody wanna give them a call? :p

  • Free voucher: pick up a free copy of Fresh magazine at the service counter & tear off back cover, vouchers on inside.

Found stock in second store I visited.

    • …or just show the voucher (as linked in the OP) on your smartphone. When I tried it, the checkout operator simply typed in the numbers for the bar code after they scanned the mop.

      • +1

Not all staff may be so helpful. You walk almost past the mags on way into store, so easy to pick up. Staff did destroy my voucher as directed.

Reference to found stock in second store was about mop & bucket. First store had neither.

Does anyone has a voucher please provide me if anyone has it

Using the mop & bucket - I'm not impressed.

You need a manual to work out how to mop your floor :-(

Have an earlier Vileda Mop + Bucket which works well. Far simpler. But needed to replace mop head, and probably whole mop after over 5 years use. So $20 sounded like a bargain. Mop includes 2 click on microfiber mop heads.

[The mop is used by different carers cleaning my Father's house, so needs to be simple to use. He can't explain how to mop a floor each week.]

This mop is probably a good microfiber timber/ tile floor sweeper. It has a large head (410mm x 150mm) & adjustable long maneuverable handle. But the use with a bucket seems poorly thought out.

Using the bucket is a pain. First click down the black lever on the mop base by stepping on it- to make it fold. (Firmly pushing mop down by handle clicks mop head in place.)

Press down too hard on that latch & the pins it pivots on break off as just happened to me. Mop is dead after few minutes use! The mop assembly needs to outlast many mop heads! FAIL!!

Then try to fit it into the bucket to rinse. The maximum water level barely covers it. That is if it folds into a 'W', but if it stays as a 'V' it is twice as high as the water level. A quick flick of the mop should bring the desired 'W' shape. Agh!!

Then even harder to do - into the spinner. I have to use my hand every time on the mop head to fit it. That's not what I expect from a 'Premium' system!

This is where I realised why the bucket is so deep, even though the maximum fill line barely covers the mop when rinsing. (250mm deep, 110mm max water level) It needs to be deep to stop the spray from the spinner.

It is a large based bucket (490mm x 300mm) - which does not fit easily into most sinks etc. If you need to tip the bucket to fit under a tap the max water level marker is difficult to gauge.

And 24 hours after last spin, the mop head is still damp!

Really this is not worth $20, and certainly a rip off at $70RRP :-(

    • +1

Thanks - you just saved me $20!

    • The bucket is definitely not very well thought out. You have to bend down and use your hand to get it into the spinner, every time. As you say it doesn't get rinsed very well if it does not fall in the "W" shape, and I dont bother to fill to the max mark as I'm only in a one bedroom. It is good at covering large area fast as the head is very big and, well, flat. I still think normal cotton shag heads are the best for cleaning as you can really push in just one spot, not have the force dispersed over such a large area. For 20 dollars it will do for me with my not very dirty small place, but when it dies I'm going to back to shaggies.

  • "Specially marked"

Does that exclude purchases from Woolworths Online then?

    • The cashback application is done online and a copy of the receipt needs to be uploaded with the application.

There is no mention of requiring proof that the mop and bucket were specially marked.

      • Thanks argonbay, but I think it does say "specially marked" in the helpmeclean link

So I dunno if I should risk buying it then not being able to get money back later

        • Yep, it definitely does say "specially marked" in the helpmeclean link. But when you fill in the online application for the cashback the only requirement is to submit the completed form and a copy of the invoice. They would have no way of telling from the online application whether the items were specially marked or not.

Thanks for the advice, BrucefromAustralia, I am losing some enthusiasm for this deal now. Ah well, always hated cleaning!

    • I hate poorly designed products more than cleaning.

I have been very happy with Vileda cleaning products in the past, so was very disappointed with this poor design from a good company.

It's an overly complex system to do a simple task.

Even if you get used to it's idiosyncrasies, there is still its Achilles heel - the 2 plastic pins in the lever that can shear off so easily. It's not a matter of if - but when those will break, rendering your premium cleaning system just more landfill.

Once those little plastic pins break, it's like watching an injured animal being stalked - you know it's all over. The mop head flops around, turning on its side, refusing to clean the floor.

It's a dark day when I turn down a $50 saving off $70RRP. Revoked my +. Handing in my mop+bucket to Woolies.

  • Think I prefer the foot on the microfibre cloth method. Seems far easier.

  • I need a new bucket anyway soon, and a flat mop for occasional use (under lounges), so don't mind the weakness of the mop so much. is the bucket still useful for standard Vileda mops or does it have the same issues when used with them?

Also, has anybody bought one of these online? I can't add the bucket. Do I automatically get one when I apply the code?

    • The standard Vileda mop does not sit low enough into the spinner for the high bucket walls to collect the spray, so your legs & floor gets wet. I gave it a try.

  • Got $20

    • nahi11 did you also use the Woolworths voucher?

      • Yes, but I ordered online. I guess I got lucky.

  • They refused to pay a cashback referring to their terms and conditions which say that it cannot be taken in conjunction with any other offer.
On the receipt I have a Vileda CPN offer for a purchased bucket -$30.00.
So, I will give up. 20 bucks are not going to ruin my life anyway.

  • Refusing my cashback as well, I've told them I know others who received so will take it further if I have to.

    • Foma and whodidthat did you contact them or did you get a letter? I haven't heard anything yet.
I wonder if the in store offer was in fact provided by Vileda and not Woolworths, giving them grounds to deny claims?

      • I contacted them as I'd heard nothing.

        • I haven't heard anything from them yet, maybe should shoot them an email.

        • @mily: Yes

    Well, wha' d'ya' know…….

No sooner did I report this to Fair Trading (at 1.11pm this afternoon) as I'd received no further reponse from the company, I get this response at 3.57pm………..

"Even though you read and accepted our terms and conditions where it clearly states that the cash back was not valid with any other offer (Clause 18), we appreciate that there may be a confusion and therefore we decided to honour your cash back. As soon as I received your enquiry I forwarded it to our Agency who handles all these promotions for us and we had advised them to give you the $20 Cash Back. I have just been in contact with them and you were to have been given the cash back on their next check run which was the 15th of May. As a rule they are very good at getting back to such enquiries, unfortunately due to when the next check run was to be done this was not followed up with you as quickly as we may have expected. Once we hand these matters over to our Agency we presume they are followed immediately.

I have asked them to send your Cash back today, our apologies for any inconvenience caused."

    • What was your angle with fair trade? I still have heard nothing.

      • Have you contacted Vileda? Send e-mail to [email protected] saying you will be complaining to Fair Trading should you not receive your cashback (mention that you do know of others who have received cashback and will use this in a complaint should you have to).
Then, if you have to, I can message you a template complaint to submit to FT. Once done, let Ida Murray know you have filed the complaint - that should do the trick!

        • Thanks for that I will call them this week and see how I go.

        • @bogstation: (y) (supposed to be thumbs up)

    • +1

I've just received an letter from Vileda said that I ineligible to claim $20 as I already claimed $30 bucket from Woolies. Also went to their claiming website, now they added the excluded. I feel they are so cheap!

      • I got that letter too after i called. So that's the reply after they look into your (denied) claim.

        • No, I haven't yet called them but still received the letter through mail. They are just sending the same crap to all ozbers. Changing the T&C after the claim and refusing to honor by referring to the new T&C is very sneaky.

  • +1

e-mail I received after making an enquiry:

You had made an entry to claim for the $20 cash back however you had already received the free bucket offer at Woolworths ($30 value), so were not eligible for the cash back as per point 18 of the Terms and Conditions (this offer cannot be taken in conjunction with any other offer).

We have now put a note on the entry page clarifying this: http://www.helpmeclean.com.au/premium5cashback/

I hope this clarifies this matter for you.

    I replied:

That one sentence on terms and conditions did not make it clear supermarket promotions were included. In fact, I know of people who also purchased from Woolworths on the same promotion and also received the cashback from you. The "Woolworths" note that has been added was not there when i completed the form, I have a screenshot to prove this.

I can used those people as evidence should I need to take this matter further.

No response received so I complained to fair trading and e-mailed Vileda the fair trading reference.
Received the following reply (on the same day):

Even though you read and accepted our terms and conditions where it clearly states that the cash back was not valid with any other offer (Clause 18), we appreciate that there may be a confusion and therefore we decided to honour your cash back. As soon as I received your enquiry I forwarded it to our Agency who handles all these promotions for us and we had advised them to give you the $20 Cash Back. I have asked them to send your Cash back today, our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

    Received the cashback on Monday.

    • Also received the denied claim letter.
Need to get off my f@t a$$ now that others have had success with a few emails.

      Thanks for the motivation.

  • You are very smart. That is so sneaky of them to update the t and c after the fact. I'm going to fair trade now. Can you pm me that screen shot if needed.

  • I'm glad I returned my mop;-)
Still got the clause 18 letter. What? No Cashback on a returned mop?

As I posted, the mop head was so poorly built, & the bucket did a worse job than the old Vileda one.

The cleaning system was far too complex for a simple task. I think the same team who designed this "Premium" cleaning system also designed the Cashback!

Happy with the simple old Vileda system. Updated with a new Vileda mop when the mop or bucket were $9 @Woolies. Much easier to use.
