    HALF PRICE ALL Bonds

    Time for new undies

    • +6

True bargainers make their own undies out of old clothes and rags.

      • +1

Or get used ones at Op Shop lol

        • i like to pass my skid marks to the shoppers of OP Shops.

        • @tuzii: LOL

        • -2

@tuzii: Dont you know that the old lady's who work in those stores have to sniff all the donated undies for quality control.

        • @tuzii: aution would increase chances of getting higher offerings lol

        • @webtherapist:

Used panties go for high price in Japan (well used schoolgirl undies do.) http://imgur.com/a/GFbrY
The "real" sick men of Asia…

      • Or go commando.

      • +1

        True bargainers don't wear undies.

      • +2

        True OzBargainers don't wear clothes.

    • +2

don't expect them to last :(

      • +1

Yes inside out back to front was getting a bit old.

  • Stocking up on Chobani this week.

    • +3

I used Jalna yogurt as a starter and Farmers' Own Full Cream Unhomogenised 2l as the feeder plus some brown sugar, the rest is up to your imagination. The homemade yogurt can be use as a new starter as long as it doesn't pass 5-7 days window.

Also it can be freeze, it taste even better when it's frozen.
It doesnt take no effort at all take make.

      • Instructions?

        • +3

I'm gad you asked, since you ask i will give.

Since i can't find the recipe that i use on the web … and the one that is in my mind is too long to written down. Try this ONE.

Here are some tips, as i stated above i used those ingredients:
          * Thermometer is a must, unless you can sense the tempt with your finger.
          * For the double boiler, dont fill let's water touche the bottom of the pot that contain the milk ( you the steam is at works here )
          * I put sugar in at 50C-70C and the yogurt at 42C
          * Incubating: Once the yogurt happily stay in the honey jar, i move it into the bottom pot ( which still have the warm water ). Then move the whole thing under the sun ( use mirror get the tempt up if needed ). Make sure the water covers 80-90% of the jar.
          * Start with normal plain yogurt, then move to other fancy yogurt as your experience increased.
          * I never strain my yogurt.

So the basic ingredients are starter, milk, sugar. The rest is up to your liking. The amount of the sugar will determined the taste of the yogurt.
          Happy cooking.
PS: While i was looking for your recipe i found this site, it is Australia 'oriented' …
EDIT: Almost everything you see in the supermarket … you can make it, and you can use better ingredient and still come out cheaper.

        • @frewer: Thanks. I'll give it a go on my holidays.

        • @frewer: Have you used UHT? Do you use a yoghurt maker?

        • +1

@sween64: I never use UHT, i don't have a yogurt maker. I use a double boiler, basically, i put a stainless steel bowl on top of a larger pot, something like this ( my bottom pot is much bigger ). Make sure the water is boil, because the steam it what heat up the upper pot/bowl

  • No it is not a skid mark, it GT racing stripe. goes faster

  • Anyone know what model the Caffitaly coffee machine is?

    • Probably S20. I don't think they still sell S14.

      • Is it a good model?

        • Well in terms of it being a cheap pod machine.. it does the job well. It's a matter of finding a pod that you like and the coffee is definitely drinkable and above instant coffee.

  • anyone still getting the john weat tuna?? after all their investigation?

    • +2

What investigation? John West tuna comes from Thailand, but not from the same company that produced the John Bull tuna implicated in the Sydney food poisoning.

      • i thought they used to be caught in australia. now i havent been eating much tuna lately (since 2005), so my experience is slightly rusty at best.

        • Yes, we used to be able to get Australian canned tuna, but AFAIK there hasn't been any canned tuna caught or canned in Australia for several years. Most of it comes from Thailand, and some of the Sirena I bought recently was from Indonesia. That's where it's canned, but not necessarily where it's caught.

      • u never know

      • they from thailand thats all i know.apart from the fact other gaint sea food factory's been doing this practise, i wouldnt be confident to give the conclusion as yet.

        http://m.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/national/toxic-tuna-dail…

        • Well, I'm still eating JW tuna, especially as it comes from a completely different processing plant from the one implicated in the food poisoning, which may have been an isolated case anyway. I haven't seen any other reports of problems from eating Thai tuna.

I've thrown 3 socks (not pairs) away this week so this is good timing for me!

  • +5

Have they already shrunk the Maxx chips down to 175g? They started off at 200g. Was wondering how long that would last..

    • Noticed that today, even red rock chips down to 165g

    • +2

There goes the "Man Sized Bags"…

Funny cause Smiths have introduced new 330g share bags - no doubt they'll be slowly reduced to what family sized bags used to be…

      • Now I suppose they'd be "Health-Conscious-Man Sized Bags"…

at least Smith's would like to spin it that way, I'm sure ;)

    • You call yourself an OzBargainer? You should be buying chips at Aldi. 250g bags everyday @ $1.99.
I don't know if I've gone off them but they don't taste as good as the used to. They're made in NZ these days and I seem to recall they were made in Aus, and may have been made by Arnott's
      (the unruffled ones anyway)

Oh, for those who like them Kettle Chips (175g or 185g) at participating (Sydney) IGAs $2.09. I don't care for them myself or the price.

  • +1

Was in Woolworths yesterday and the sign was up already for the 40% off skype cards so i took a $25 card to checkout but the girl said it starts 18th but after manager approval she honored it and they took the signs down lol. So paid $15 for it.

    • I thought woolies won't change you if they made a mistake in pricing. Happened to me 2 times already.

      • Probably depends who you get and the dates available at the bottom of sign are so small to read .

      • If it scans higher than the "ticket price" it should be given to the customer for free.

      • Best to know and demand your "Scanning Code of Practice" rights lest they try that one on, It can also pay to not examine the labels too closely as sometimes the staff checking your claim don't either.

  • I seem to recall noting that the Biozet is already half price this week so no need to wait if you want some.

  • The lumia will never go below $39.50.

    Neverrrrrrrrrrrrrr…

  • What are the deals for bonus Dominoes next week ?

    • wouldn't really say they are deals m8, do you want to know them anyway?

      • +1

if you've got kids, these offers are more important than 50% off…

$20 for one domino just doesn't cut it…

        • +4

OK Here are some of them
Bonus with Any D'Orsogna products Or Cold power Products
Bonus with twiggy stick deal in post

        • @TRENT86:

Bonus with twiggy stick deal in post

Can you buy twiggy sticks individually ???

        • +2

Very much agreed there, thankfully if you get a lovely sympathetic cash register girl,, you end up with a big handful for $10 worth of items. Yay. Clever marketing nonetheless

        • +1

tip top bread was awesome this week, 2 for 5.50 and u get a bonus dominoes for each loaf!

also load your opal at wollies, u get dominoes for that too! if your Sydney based

    • +1

Order online. I ordered $100 of groceries and for about 20 dominos in a plastic bag- had to check an option saying that I want the dominos.

  • HALF PRICE Grain Waves

Our local coles and woolies have stopped stocking the Original flavour, it was the only one I liked… :(

  • +1

Is this more aggressive than usual? They finally responding to Coles and Aldi?

  • HALF PRICE Chobani Yogurt Pots 170g $1.12

Half price for these used to be $1, when did the price increase 12% ?

    • same as cutting down package size from 200g to 175g for chips, new way of cheap = more expensive :)

    • +3

They weren't regularly $1 were they? I thought the special was 10 for $10.

      • -2

or you mean for less than $10 since most ozbargainers have ING paywave or similar payment :)

        • Better off using discounted Wish Cards.

      • They weren't regularly $1 were they?

        Every few weeks or so…

  • Personally I dont rate the Lumia 530 at any price and I am a 630 user. I owed a 530 for 2 weeks. Unless it is a kids phone and you are already on telstra I say its not worth it.

    • I use it as a 3G wifi hot spot that can make calls. Battery lasts a long time in this mode.

      • Yep sure as a wifi hotspot, no worries. As long as you dont have to use that horrible screen! Actually the phone is just fine but that screen makes it a bit of a nightmare. Locked to telstra … no deal for me. Even for under $40

        • Apparently the Lumia 520, its predecessor has a better quality screen.

        • Correct and I still have a 520 and the 630 which effectively cost me under $50… much better options…

  • previous 50% skype credit deal was really great
I pay about $1.60 to make 5 hr phone calls including Australia land and mobile calls per month.

    • Reset the previously cancelled 38.49 subscription (5 hours to mobile@50 countries) to renew per-annum. Won't be going near new AU$21.49/month 257.88p.a, 1 country.AU junk.revision. Landlines may be back in vogue at AU$1.09/month pricing.

  • did our tel-cos finally get to skype hey..:( I noticed that the new plans are no comparison to less than a year ago.

  • Anyone used a Skype Gift card to buy a Skype Number?

  • There Bonds socks I purchased at Coles the other week for $5.50 when they had 40% off are $6.00 at Woolworths with the 50% off.
