  • +1

    can customers cancel online orders?

and can someone please post a selfie if they are able to pickup the 38 x8 packs… wanna see how many trolleys :)

    • Would fill 2 trolleys easily.

  • How does the 20% make it $30.88?
It comes to like $53 for 16 packs. 20% off comes to $42.

I have ordered anyway, just don't get the maths!

  • +1

Did an email come through to tell you it was cancelled or did it say so in your order online?

      • +1

        an email come through.

my order is last night 16x8pk = 25.88 sort. Cancelled without a reason. Looks like WWS won't honor any of them this time.

        • Did you only order toilet paper or other things as well???

        • same literally just now 805perth time

        • @amberd23: only toilet paper.

        • @sywater: Ok I ordered other things also - mainly the half price up&go…wonder if any of it will turn up tomorrow…no email for me yet to cancel….

Checked my first order due for delivery in 8 hours. No cancellation email, and Tracking shows the 1/2 hour window for expected delivery.
Second order no cancel' email either.
So I'd say we're all proud owners of 3 years TP supply.

  • +1

    thank you tightarse !!!

  • so sad..

  • Cancelled…

Woolies cancelling orders because their IT people can't code properly/doesn't do testing. If they were at my company, these people would have lost their jobs already…

They should take action on their own staff before their customers…

    • +2

they cant be bothered to fire some and recruit new ones who will screw more …

    • +1

I would hazard a guess that their front end developers are outsourced to India. Hence the "quality" issues.

      • I was told it was the Phillipines, not that it matters anyway as in that case who do we blame when centerlink stuffs up. It took them 3 months to process my kids details for child care inspite of visiting the centerlink Office thrice.

  • Order cancelled 😂

  • Did the screenshot that TA posted get deleted?

    • +3

Yep, says requested by commenter. Those active with comments will know it was Tightarse who knocked on the door of Woolies Online Chat and tipped them off.

      • +2

I think we should all give TA a break. I mean Woolies would have picked up that there are all these orders going through for toilet paper. I saw the screenshot, the Woolies rep clearly said that they were aware of it. My feeling is that Woolies management came in at 8.30am this morning and got told there were all these orders going through for toilet paper at really cheap prices. A bit of meeting here and there and then decided at around 9am to cancel all orders over 6 packs.

I for one still owe TA for all the cheap deals he posted in the past and this is probably not his fault anyway.

        • +2

          Absolutely. You are on spot.

        • This is what I said in the unpublished thread. It would have passed many eyes this morning before getting to stores or houses.

        • You sound like a TA rep :P

        • +2

@ansible: I might as well be. I am a fan. Just look at his posts and you will see that a large proportion of his deals have 50 or more up votes. I don't think many on OzB have as much contribution.

        • I was just kidding… indicated by the tongue-pokey-smiley

While I'm annoyed that Woolies cottoned onto the deal, I'm hardly qualified to say much about anyone yet, I only just joined up today ^_^

          :)

        • +1

I used to really respect TA and the deals back when I was a lurker. Ever since the comps have started, it's clear that deals are posted to get the numbers & win at all cost.

      • +1

The purchase has to go through purchasing first > print the order labels > warehouse. Eventually someone will pick up this system flaw and report it.

        • Question is not that they would have picked up on it. Question is why he went and told them about it. I think he read comments about people ordering in large volume and got worried that his order will be cancelled due to out of stock. So he decided to put a stop to people ordering more by telling woollies hoping they will disable the codes. When they didn't do that quickly enough he decided to post it here so people will get discouraged from placing more orders. Just my guess but seems plausible to me after reading all the comments

        • @lokesh7: does it make a difference if WW was going to find out anyways? At most a couple of orders will go out. Then warehouse would be suspicious about the orders of toilet paper. Then purchasing will need to place more order to its wholesaler. You think no one will look into the order? $0.08/ roll is not business thats just charity.

        • +2

          @supaderp:

"At most a couple of orders will go out…"

That may not have been so. More than 80% of the squillions of coke orders were honoured, and that price was equally crazy.

What no one can understand (including myself) is why on earth TA would actually actively draw Woolies' attention to the 'deal' via an online chat/ ask if they would be honouring the orders etc. There's simply no logical reason at all to do that. If he 'just wanted to know if they'd be honouring the orders', then all he had to do was wait and see. I wouldn't be surprised if this spells the end of code-stacking in general; which will be a real shame.

        • @GnarlyKnuckles:

Yeah, the confirmation I would have wanted is a woolies truck outside my door!
Too bad that won't happen now.

      • He wasn't doing it out of spite, but whatever allows you to come to terms with all of this.

        • Of course it wasn't out of 'spite', because there's no one he could possibly feel 'spiteful' towards, with regard to this deal.

The question is, why did he do it? There's no logical reason whatsoever for it. So that only leaves somewhat zany/emotional/illogical reasons.

It's bizzarro behaviour, particularly from a seasoned OzBargainer.

        • -1

@GnarlyKnuckles: He has already explained himself. It was to see if they would honour the transactions, despite his actions they decided not to and cancelled most orders.

  • +1

Good luck to those people who hasn't had their orders cancelled. Here's hoping that WW is so inundated with orders that your collection/delivery time comes up before they have a chance to cancel your order. :)

  • Looks like party is over for these crazy online deals from Woolies. They don't let you combine these codes anymore.

  • +1

    Yeah I got cancelled :(

  • We should create a "WTF WOOLIES" FB page!

  • +1

Yup, my 18 for ~$30 got cancelled but my 38 for ~$25 is still in the game. Don't fancy my chances.

  • +1

People who have been cancelled when did you put your order's through??? Also did you order other things as well or only toilet paper???

    • +3

Ordered 16 rolls at 10pm (EST) last night.

  • +1

    Cancelled without explanation.

  • Those cancelled , I beleieve out of stock, some already got theirs, still waiting for mine today it's on the truck, you snooze you loose, first batch of orders should go through until they discover it its to late.

  • +1

Its just not right to cancel these orders. WOOLWORTHS are using these codes and coupons to generate extra business (& larger orders) and take customers from competitors.
Still not cancelled my 2 orders in Perth.

    • +1

i dont think they are out of stock… they are just working manually backwards …but good luck!

  • +1

    Order cancelled :(
    whoever get it, good job!

  • +1

Cancelled without explanation - I got the email too.

  • I just called them, and they said any orders over the 6 packs limit have been cancelled by management. Said it was ok if I put another order in for 6 packs and apply the discount code.

    • 6 pack each or 6 pack totally?

      • 6 total, I'm getting 20 mars bars to make the total over $30.

  • Almost people have cancelled the orders????

  • +1

Bonus their website is now down…so can't even check….

  • +1

Is there a way to use the 20% code in store?

  • +1

Cancelled, email came through with no explanation

  • Or maybe.. Gumtree - 8 pack of sorbent, $2. In new condition.

    • +2

Which is a darn sight better than 'only used once'

  • +2

"Your Woolworths Online order has been cancelled."

and only did the 20c per roll

  • +1

One order cancelled for 38, one order not cancelled to pick up in a few hours for 16. Fingers crossed

  • +1

    Mine also cancelled

  • anyone tried using the codes for

    https://www2.woolworthsonline.com.au/shop/ProductDetails?Sto…

busy at work, cant do the maths. but if we order 6 packs of these (and possibly other Quiltons) and use the code?

    • I just ordered 6 and you can still use 4SUA2KBK which brings it down to $11.58 for 6 packs, but you need to have a minimum of $30 total to checkout.

      • cant stake the codes?

        • The error on the other codes were that they had reached the limit on amount of use (or something like that)

  • +1

    Mine got cancelled too.
I used a gift card to pay for it, does anyone know if it takes a while to go back on to the card? Because I just tried to validate the card and it doesn't look like they've refunded the money back to the card.

    • +1

It doesn't go back on the card. They send you an online credit by default. You can request a card to be sent instead but I did this weeks ago and never received anything.

      • As in a credit for the wow online store? Where do I see this? I don't see it when I go to My Account or do I need to wait for some sort of email?

      • They sent me a special code in an email, to use online. Good thing is applying it didn't stuff up free delivery, which dropped below the $100 threshold (in my case). Didn't affect order in any other way, as t's treated differently to discount codes.

        • Did the code come in the cancellation email or an email after? I also used a gift card and was wondering what happened to my credit.

        • @pogiguy: It came inside the standrd email regarding not being able to supply certain items. Which comes to you well before delivery time.

@NOYANONO: those are one time use codes only, I hope you haven't put in the actual ones.

        • +1

          @jdf:

lol hes got no chance once its on this site… those codes are gone..

        • @jdf:
Oh Ship, better remove codes, edited my name & order#, but didn't think.

    • +2

if you don't want to receive a coupon that can be used online only, you need to call woolworths and specifically request a physical gift card sent to you.

      It is an annoying process

      • I hope they reload value back onto egiftcard in future. This way will probably lead to a lot of lost funds for customers.

        • They can't reload values back onto gift cards or e gift cards,
The best they can do is send you a physical gift card with the refund in the mail.

  • +3

Did someone really go to Woolworths and tell them about this?

How stupid. Now we all get our orders cancelled. Can't you just be quiet about it for a few days until we picked up our orders.

    • +1

How do you sneak 304 rolls out of a supermarket? Plot of OzBargains 14?
