As part of Boing Boing's new store, VPN Unlimited is offering a lifetime subscription for $39 USD - apparently down from $130.

It's for up to 5 devices and they seem to have a server in Australia. Compared to other deals this is lifetime and also unlimited data usage.

Pay for a lifetime subscription today and next year they go out of business. Good deal.

    • This is a sensible point and something I'm often concerned about with lifetime services. I think I'm probably more comfortable with this becomes it comes endorsed by Boing Boing, which I trust. It does seem to be a legitimate service, not some fly by night thing.

It's not actually supported by Boing Boing, they're just partnered with Stack Commerce (https://stackcommerce.com).

Other websites with Stack Commerce have the exact same 'deal,' i.e https://encrypted.google.com/#q=%22VPN+Unlimited:+Lifetime+S…

The real issue with these services is less about whether or not they're going to be here tomorrow and more about what the speeds will be like. I imagine they would be extremely congested with no real minimum bandwidth allocation.

Ah like when you get complimentary travel insurance and then terrible customer service from Zurich (I speak from contemporary experience).

        • I really think that any deals powered by stackcommerce should be considered a dupe if there is already the same deal up for the same product on a different website powered by stackcommerce (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/189729) because otherwise what happens if 1000 people post up the same deal, where each of the deals are coming from different websites powered by stackcommerce?

    LIfetime + unlimited = unsustainable.

And why would you want more VPN goodness? You've already scored lifetime unlimited!

    • It's sustainable if they pass on details of illegal downloads to the film studios.

So the general consensus this isn't great?

  • Sounds good for only $39 , but the real question's are:

    1) Do they allow Torrents (will be slow even if they do)?
    2) Do they keep your IP address and history details?
    3) Do you have to buy it for every device you own?

It is for 100years, not lifetime. I have tried this service before
    1. No torrents
    2. Speed is okay
    3. No idea about their log policy, its not in there website
    4. You can use it upto 5 devices
    5. There app is good, only down side is no torrents

    • Thanks for that info :) No Torrents = Pass for me.

      • Get a seedbox+Vpn = good " Load torrents to your seedbox , then download however you like ".
