  • Download the app. Still gets load fails but cart remains intact. Also all items
will be on one continuous page so no need to click for next page.

Can't put anything in that "cart". Gave up. Not worth it.

  • +1

Man, After so many bad experiences with Catch i gave up on them long ago… Thought oh a good time to head back and see what they have to offer… worthless site.

  • -1

There's only so many times I can push F5 with no intention of buying anything. Are you guys seriously still trying?

    • Girls are too..

      • -6

Hahah don't be silly, girls don't use Ozbargain.

  • +1

The site crushed on me after payment. An hour later still no email confirmation, I'm guessing my order didn't get through.

    • If you got an email confirmation it worked - If not try again!

      • Same thing for me..

      • +1

My cart is empty now.. And my card was charged.

        • Then check your order history

        • @CandyMan:
There is no yesterdays order… Crap, spent almost 2 hours for nothing.

        • @doperst:
I must have been lucky to browse , add to cart and order with no issues

          I understand everyone's frustration though

  • I see the website is completely inaccessible however you can try downloading the app on your mobile devices it does occasionally gives out errors but eventually I did end up buying some things..just a thought😋

  • +2

Minutes to load a page, then:

"An error has occurred, and we’re working to fix the problem.

We'll be up and running as soon as possible."

  • +3

& the trophy goes to cotd

  • Damn!! Manage to complete the checkout, only to to get a pop up message saying they are not sure if my transaction went thru(even if all payment details went thru).. And they are saying have to wait 15 mins for email, if i dont receive any, try again?!?!? Wtf…

    Ditto
It is a joke of the day

    • +1

      Ditto to whom?

  • +5

Many items are either above or on par with other retailers, and the site is utter defecation.

  • +5

Utter waste of time ….. Transaction did not go through

  • +2

    Utter….

To revoke all of the invalid negative votes

        • +3

          Mines valid.
I dont like the deal because its no good for me and doesn't give the discount to my selected item.
But I hear you! If you don't like the heat, get off the website!
They never have been good under load, and if you expect more and neg a deal for that your a tool!

        • @ozy:
I honestly dont care if you neg it, I were just answering your question. I think if you check Putmans link below you will find yours isnt valid either.

    • +1

We get it, you work for COTD. Enough with screaming like a little kid for the mods.

    • +2

They don't care mate, make your report and let it be… Some of the things people get worked up over, walk away from the keyboard…

  • +12

75% off junk is still junk.

    • +2

      wrong
      75 % off Junck means you get 25% junk..not bad ;)

      (sorry)

    • Stop looking at the men's undies then

  • +1

    Anyone managed to checkout successfully?

    • I actually did. After too many attempts and stuff disappearing from the cart whenever you try to put a second item in, I managed to secure two items (sunglasses) to checkout through the MOBILE site though, not the main one.

  • +2

Tried to buy some junk.. kept timing out..

  • +1

Just got 3pairs for converse shoes for $96. No problems with the site. Thanks op

    • Congrats. You might want to click + on the deal to show your appreciation to OP for posting it :)

      • +1

Done. The mobile site is working well.

    • Yay for you.
      Boo for me.

  • +1

From Perth, so waiting for you people from east to give up and go to sleep, hopefully less traffic in 1-2 hours and hope there are still some items left that I might need.

    • +1

      Westside for life playyah!

  • Bought 9 items for around $50 from mobile site, + vote

  • +2

    Can't see any bargains

  • +4

Reason for my neg: major issue with retailer. Tried for over half an hour to purchase something, anything! No success.

    • -3

A major issue with a retailer includes you did not receive an item from a previous sale, or you experienced a longer than expected shipping time.

All the negs here are just people that complain about queues. I'm lining up but I'm not going for a ride!

      • +3

You don't consider not being able to access the website of the retailer a major issue?

Fair enough if it's a once off, but I don't think there's ever been a time where I haven't had issues with accessing COTD. I have legitimately, consistently struggled with this store. That's why I negged the deal. Nothing personal against OP.

        • +2

A major issue with the website is if it's not secure or something, no ABN or whatever, this doesn't include access, unless you've got proof COTD are playing games with their web traffic, then that's different…

        • +2

Ozbargain voting guidelines doesn't consider website accessibility a major issue. I'm not taking any sides here, just pointing out what it says. Personally I experienced a few 503 errors and load issues while browsing, but overall had no issues placing my order.

        • @CyberGenesys: That's fair enough, but the rules are everchanging. Consider this my case for consistent website accessibility issues to be classified as a major issue.

If the mods want to remove my neg I understand, but I'd rather like them to add this to the list.

wish the Leap Motion controller would go on sale…

:( $80 is still too much..

For all those who have wasted their time: https://youtu.be/ygr5AHufBN4

  • Is it working?

    • I keep pressing F5 and get varying results.

  • It worked for me. Payment confirmed. Bought $220 worth of stuff for just over $100. I used the mobile link posted earlier. It was a bit slow at times, but worked well overall:

Several items were in my cart but sold out before I could get through the 75% and 60% pages. Well, COTD won't get my business today…

  • just to let everyone know, the site is pretty good now - just slightly slow - but very managable
just ordered 5 items with no hassle

    • I agree. The website is running a lot better now.

  • I'm sorry you missed out on the 1st Opening deal. Our hopelessly inadequate, and poorly managed, servers.

    Good luck next time!

  • Working fine here (Perth), but not much interesting.

Best I saw was the Olympus Pen E-PL5 + twin lens kit down to $460 (after 30% deducted), which is way better than anywhere else I can find.

  • +2

Took more than 30 sec to load a page. Struggle for 20+ minutes to find three pair of shoes and then "OUT OF STOCK"!

  • App working OK now

  • I think the app worked best. I downloaded it and found that it held the cart the whole time. Managed to order quite a bit. Thanks op!

  • Just got a pair of Timberland shoes and some DeWalt Drill Driver bits for $65 delivered. Happy!
Paid via Paypal with no issues.

  • +1

    more crap I don't need

  • pretty good sale imo, lots of cheap items

  • seems to be working ok now

wish COTD would have a breakdown by categories for this sale, instead I had to wade through hundreds of close up shots of junks and camel toes to get through the entire listing……….

as a hetero male, camel toes are ok, but viewing so many junks in one go were a bit unsettling………

  • +2

Got 20 items for $150 mostly clothing app is the best working option . Annoying that they take items off your cart when someone else buy it . And you have to refresh one page like 3 times . I think they never witnessed such a traffic before or either are there servers good enough for it so hopefully they do an upgrade before they put any offers next time .

  • I managed to get some good cheap items, but the effort involved was incredible (Was still worth it though). The app was actually less successful for me than my PC, though that might've just been a timing thing (I switched to my PC after giving up on my iphone)

  • There's an Philips Avance stick blender with attachments that will set you back $70 including delivery. I got one a couple of months ago for $20 more than that and I think it's brilliant.

  • Bought some stuff didn't need or want but decent savings so couldn't resist

  • +1

Cheers OP, after pressing F5 all night with no intention to buy anything, the site started working and so I started browsing and bought five things :)

Well done OP, a big + vote for posting this deal!!!!!+++++++++++++++!!!!!+++!+!+!+!+!!++!+!!!!

+1 just for having the vibrators amongst the power tools on the 40% page.

The WD Elements 2TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive - Black https://www.catchoftheday.com.au/event/get-an-extra-30-off-i… is an OK price, particularly if you have some credit / buy some other stuff you don't really need.

I tried to buy some things earlier without any success whilst the site was overloaded; kept adding something to basket, but it just disappeared repeatedly until it sold out.

Eventually I bought that hdd, bulking out the order with some thongs, sunnies, and other random stuff I didn't really need.

Wasn't sure whether to upvote or downvote based on my experiences; eventually I made up my mind (for better or worse)!

  • bought some bed sheet and cover.I ended up buying some razer staff which i dont really need .
Razer taipan BF4 mouse,Razer Kraken,Razer Electra. I missed out on keyboard .Taipan is really good mouse. Recommended if you don't mind the BF4 picture on it

  • Cheers, OP! Grabbed 19 items for ~$150 (mixed stuff). No issues with the website at this time :-).

  • no issues at this time, but most of the 'good' stuff is sold out.

  • Was gonna buy a spin to drink game thing, but the shipping ($10) brought the price right back up to $13. Went to google and found the same thing on Kogan on sale with free shipping ended up 9$. Don't forget about the shipping guys, might be cheaper for some of these small items from other places.

  • Bought Razer Xbox controller last night, PayPal was charged but haven't received any email from COTD?

  • Error 503: deal not found

  • +2

Excellent charged me $98 twice for transactions that didnt go thru. Now the joy of tryign to get it back

  • Here's a novel idea COTD… How about filter by "NOT SOLD OUT".
Explain to me why I want to see page after page of items that are already Sold Out. Dumb.

    • +1

For me all the sold out stuff was at the end of the list so I knew that once I saw the first "sold out" there would be nothing after it.

  • -5

Why do people keep shopping there? Been this way since they started these deals. They're no longer a bargain site.

  • -5

Didn't even bother, all cloths and mostly junk, where are the tech items? No computers, phones or tablets?! COTD you can do better than this.

    • You didn't see the Razer tech gear on sale?. Like the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate BF4 keyboard ($54), Razer Deathstalker Ultimate keyboard ($114 shipped), Razer Taipan BF4 mouse etc. You should have opened your eyes.

  • Ended up buying a few Bracks trousers on the 75% off during the wee hours of the morning. 3 for $32.49 delivered.

  • Finally got on and brought some junk that I didn't need lol!

    • Unlike that i actually needed new trousers :)

  • +1

It was mostly rubbish for sale and I had my cart cleared on me over a dozen times and gave up trying to place an order
The site design must be poor if it can't handle 5000 concurrent users which is what it said in the popup box

    • +1

Negative vote for me waste of time

    • +1

I gave up during the night. Ended up waking up around 4:30am this morning and decided to jump on and found the server had recovered. People must have long since given up by then (remembered it saying there was about 200 concurrent users).
