Logitech Illuminated Living-Room Keyboard K830 $55.50 @ Dick Smith

380
12OFF65

Love this keyboard, purchased a K400 just before it and realized that all good keyboards (along with laptops, cough apple) have illumination.

Also this has a built in lithium battery, works great with my raspberry pi/nuc

available to collect at all the stores close to me (gold coast)

  • couldn't resist.

Have this one Microsoft All-in-One Media Keyboard great keyboard, but missing illumination.

    Thanks.

  • Purchased, thanks.

  • "Temporarily out of stock"

Oh wells. Still not sure if I would want this over my TK820 anyway..

    • what postcode?

      • 2000 if "TheContact" details are up to date on their profile

        • i thought it must be something else as 2000 had stock in all the stores listed.

        • @PVA: agreed. :)

        • @PVA:
          Dammit!

Looks like it was a mobile thing. Says out of stock on my phone, but is in stock on the desktop site…

        • @TheContact:
Ahh, that's what the problem was.

    • I have had the TK820 and now I have had this one for a couple weeks now. The K830 is better IMO

      • Hmmm I may just have to give it a shot the next time a dickies code comes up then.

        Thanks. :)

  • got one, thanks!

  • Bugger. I just bought this from Futu for $68 when eBay had the 20% off sale.

  • This doesn't seem to support OSX, the official Logitech statement is "The K830 keyboard and touchpad's basic functions work on Mac. However, since the Logitech Options software is not available for the Mac OS, its keys and trackpad cannot be customized. You may adjust its behavior (delay and speed) though in System Preferences>Accessibility though."

However, do you think it would work if you ran a Virtual Windows 10 instance on OSX?

    • Try USB overdrive for Mac.
Have to pay money, but it can be used for all sorts of peripherals 'not supported by Mac OS X'.

  • Was Awaiting for a decent Keyboard from long time , Finally wait is over .
    Purchased one !!!

    Thanks !!!

  • Out of stock

    • where do you live, I entered 2000 for the postode (you say you live in Sydney) and I see stock at Bondi, Broadway, Randwick….

Can you "click" on the touchpad? One thing that annoyed me with the K400 was the inability to perform click function with the touchpad

    • +4

Because the one thing you want to do when using the mouse is accidently click constantly…

    • +1

      Yes, double tap

    • You can click with the touchpad on the original K400 (I don't have a K400R). You toggle between the two modes with Fn+Left Button. I don't like clicking with the touchpad so turn it off.

  • wow this is cheap, i snatched one up when they dropped to $70 thinking it was a good deal

    • +1

Every time this gets to $60 i am tempted. But i never buy coz my k400 does everything this does except illuminate the keys. And i prefer AA batteries over internal as they literally last years in the k400

    Posted 3 hours, Expired. Sad.

    • Don't worry, it will be around this price again soon, I got it last week for $58 during the 13% off sale.

  • It's not on their eBay store :(

  • It is available in ACT all stores at $67.50

    • Is that the price on the shelf? Last time they refused to price match their online store, asking $130 for this keyboard.

      • ok. I just clicked the link 'Go to deal' and checked store availability in ACT with post code 2600.
If we order online and use Click and collect, then it should work at $67.50.
        The code is not applicable.

  • Wow avalable at my local! thats a first.. tempting. dont really need it tho

Damn I've been waiting for this to come on sale, the one time I don't check ozbargain it does…
I've been so tempted on the k400 but I just know I will hate the fact it doesn't have illuminated keys.

    • There was no stock within an hour of the deal being posted

  • Don't stress it comes down to this price give or take $2 or $3 every few weeks with the Dick smith "codes" but they never have local store stock, they had 1 in stock 40min away from me on the last sale so I snapped it up for $57 after waiting 4 months for stock that was the best I found.'

That's why I have never posted this deal HOWEVER when I picked my stock up I spoke to the sales guy and he claimed apparently they have 500 stock at their warehouse so if roughly $9 postage isn't a deal killer for you (remember this is $129 at JB) then I may post it next time to remind everyone (I also have the K400R but found it jitters all over the place most the time at 4m away), this is marginally better (seems to jitter now and then due to range)

  • Argh! Missed it again!

Got a mate's HTPC build due next week. Can't wait… gonna pay too much… aRgH!!1

    /gurgling noises

  • When are they going to make one of these with a scroll wheel?

    • +2

      It supports 2 finger scrolling

    • Same day as they make full size desktop keyboard with a touch pad

  • thx got one last night, forgot to comment (Marion, SA)

  • Can anyone whos had both k400 and this compare the two?

i never buy coz my k400 does everything this does except illuminate the keys at a glance.

And i prefer AA batteries over internal as they literally last years in the k400

I understand when there are pages of comments you don't read them all and ask doup questions or ask about things already stated, by my comment is only 5 above yours face-palm

  • Can this connect directly to a smart tv or only via a PC?

  • can still get this keyboard cheap with this code here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/202147

search 'cable' and youll get some items for $2.98 - it actually comes out 2c cheaper than this deal at $55.48.

And you get a free connector of some sort!

  • Just picked mine up, cheers.

  • Dick smith Civic have 3 on the shelf but order online and it says no stock after I ordered one. Would not let me order two.

  • Use 15COUPON code for $15 off for orders over $70. Added xerox paper for 4.95 to get to $70. Ended up paying $57.45 pickup.
