  • Any bargains?

    • Yes please, some deals would be nice to make this deal bargain worthy!

Take all the posts from yesterday with the $12 of 65 spend and alter accordingly with either a $15 discount and/or adding a $5 item to get to $70

Seriously this is a joke…Can DS be banned from OzBargain? They're not even bargains any more.

Price increases before sales, massive exclusion lists, constant 'Deals' which should just be their regular prices!

    • Agree…this has become a everyday spam for ozbargain, I think it should only be posted if there is no exclusions or at least very few….not like 99% of the store items excluded :C

    • I'd be curious on an analysis of all the DSE deals over the years. How many of them are actual bargains v's dicks daily coupons with massive exclusion lists?

      • Oz Blog had some interesting stats I saw gathered over each year, don't think they have them accessible to view for any-time though.
If a users posts and they don't get votes eventually they can't post for a while I think. But here its different people(?) posting for the same company/site.
Any interesting idea would be if a companies ratio of 'bargains posted' vs 'bargains that got to the front page' were low they could get put into the 'time out area'? But generally I guess people do find these useful (they get votes) and we can always hide the store from our stream (though I don't use that feature because I expect some day there will be an awesome bargain I miss).

        • But here its different people(?) posting for the same company/site

I don't know about others posting deals/bargains/coupons/whatever for DSE, but certainly a "different person" in my case!!! I've been on Ozbargain since late last year and have been able to take advantage of some good deals and discounts via the site but was always a bit reluctant about posting deals as I wasn't sure what to do or how to do it correctly. The only reason I posted this one was because I came across it just as I was about to check out and seeing as I was able to use it successfully, thought "ok, I'll give it a go doing my first post with this one, and maybe someone else will be able to use it as well". From the reaction, it doesn't appear to have been the right thing to do :(

You've got 5 votes and no negs, that's pretty good. Try not to take it personally, Dick bashing is a favourite past time for some Professionals.
Maybe check out the Wiki, there is a guidline about highlighting a deal when posting. Hope this helps.

          People generally value their time.
If you know there is a good bargain or two in a sale, catalog or store, it's a good idea to mention one or even two bargains, in the title, and provide direct links where possible, to those items.

          @luke73:

Thanks Luke, that's very helpful, much appreciated :). I'll keep the bargain thing in mind for next time :)

  • Excludes almost everything :C

    I bought these:

    and these:

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/audio-mp3/philips-adjustable-in-…

Probably not super bargains (and I'm sure OzBargainers will let me know!) but I thought the price was pretty good as both were 30% off (and they were ones I'd looked at before), and I needed headphones for an upcoming trip and didn't want to spend too much - the extra $15 off certainly made them more of a deal anyway!

  • This deal from yesterday would be 50 cents cheaper if you add a $2.50 item

    or

Sennheiser RS 110 II headphones for $55 if you add a 70 cent item

    or

Sennheiser Momentum on ear heaphones for $82.30

  • Damn, XG6636 excluded, FU DSE.

  • Spam.

Can we ban all dick deals except for eneloops?

I think if enough people vote on minus, would block them for days.

    • +2

Um no, that's not how it works.

  • +1

Yeah, guys, I agree issuing coupons like everyday spam is kinda irritating. But still there are people who may occasionally benefit from this. Personally I'm on the look for another $10 of $50 deal, cause I need to stock up with some ink cartridges

    • +3

Best bargain for ink cartridges: buy a laser printer and generic toner off eBay. :)

      • I've got simple Canon Pixma Multifunction. Agreed, that eBay is always cheaper. I just dislike all that delivery hustle and prefer to click&collect nearby, when I can catch a similar in savings deal

    • Actually thought to buy some from Woolies with -20% & additional -5% via cashrewards, but second day on sale - half is already out of stock! :(

  • It's expired already?

How come I couldn't use it on the pebble red?

    • It might have already been used by 300 orders that is was limited to.

    • +1

Pebble Red (SE5061) is on the exclusion list.

Got Logitech k830 just added paper for extra $5. Overall $57.45 C&C.

    • Good to see it's back in stock. User pointless comment has a good tip on getting it as cheap as possible in this deal.

      • Yep, good point "cables" does work even better (or earphones as in previous comment).

I tried simple batteries, but the problem is to find them in same shop as keyboard, and preferably nearby :-)

    • They're reallly starting to pizz me off! I've been cheching that link several times a day, for the last 48hrs+. They don't say no stock… they just delete the whole page. Deal's over = page back online.

Broken Dick's not make anyone happy!

Can't we just ban all these stupid $-off posts?

There have been some good actual bargains from Dicks recently, when people posted specific items.

  • +1

Thanks OP just got the Logitech K830 I've been waiting for.

  • is this bargain?

Does dick smith accept wish gift card?

  • +1

Frustrating. Came up under my "chromecast" alert. Tried to buy 2 with it - excluded. As is a heap of other stuff. Pretty useless voucher code unfortunately.

  • +1

I used it on some Sennheiser headphones. Thanks OP.
