Meizu M2 Note AUD $209.80 Shipped @ GearBest

121

Hey guys heres another deal i spotted on gearbest. meizu m2 note. this device i personally bought for my parents. connectivity like 4g and all that works great just not
700mhz just letting you guys know. but never noticed the difference in terms of speed compared to my note 4. aslong 4g works right?. cameras are great for the price to. the front camera blows away my note 4 front camera surprisingly good quality. the back is pretty good to. ofcourse not as good as the note 4 and s6 camera which is currently rated the best but for around $200 bucks cant complain. but it does a great job to, flash is better in my opinion compared to my note prob cos of the dual tone. just my opinion.

I think this is a safe buy coming from a reputable company in china. OTA updates seems really consistent to. build is great. I found out its made in foxconn to like apple, xiaomi, huawei phones etc…… unfortunately the current gear best coupons don't work for this deal increases the price. still worth it tho if ur lookin for decent hardware and software optimization.

from what i read on gearbest it stated standard shipping on checkout. i looked it up there standard shipping its classified as ems on the link below.

  • no NFC?

    • no i dont think so. it may have hotknot tho not sure. mediateks version and more advance version of nfc

  • How is it compare with K3 Note?

    • +1

specs wise. theyre pretty much identical on paper. only having played with the m2 personally. i think its better compared to lenovo phones
because this variant also sells internationally. so i guess in my opinion that translates to better rom support outside of china.

the MTK chip on the k3 note is slightly faster from wat i seen on bench marks. but kinda suffers in terms of battery in some reviews i read considering it already has a 3000mah battery and its only average battery life.
power user my self. but the m2 lasts me pretty well throughout the day when i used it should last most people 2 days. i use a note 4 as my main device as comparison. hope that info helps haha. im power hungry i can chew through any phone battery no matter how big in a day haha

      • The spec said both sim support 4G.

Any malware came with this phone like K3 note?

        • most chinese phones support dual sim. but it only means whether which slot you set as your primary sim that 4g will be supported.
so the one i have. i use my 2nd slot as my main sim for 4g but the other one is only 2g. they cant both run 4g at the sametime no soc can support 2 sims both running at 4g at the same time. in this case MTK. hope that helps.

        • nah this phone comes clean. i had a few chinese apps. but you can uninstall pretty much anything you wanted on this phone. my phone had the chinese rom but you can install google play services from the meizu app store.

whats it gotta do with asians? haha

      • +3

lol yeah no idea….. but I hope these African's realise that RAM stands for random access memory.

  • Hey all. This is a really decent phone for the price but … most sites state the bands as:
    2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
    3G: WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100MHz
    4G: FDD-LTE 1800/2100/2600MHz

I am not sure this phone actually supports WCDMA for the 850Mhz band - which could be an issue for Telstra Next G. I'd double check that if you are a Telstra customer. I could be wrong … but have seen mixed specs for this device.

    • i got one for my parents. they use it on vodafone same 850mhz as telstra. WCDMA works fine bro. always comesup as H+ in my area. 4g is fine to.

great news - it just worried me that GSMarena and all the unboxing videos say 3G: WCDMA 900/1900/2100MHz … since you confirmed it works on the 850Mhz band this is amazing value, especially when you consider the other recent Chinadroid launch with similar stats, the Zeaplus M7, was an abomination.

        • well when i looked at the signal bar. it only stated 3g or 4g like the iphone. but when i dled LTE discovery. showed me specifically if it was LTE or HSPA etc. it was coming up as HSPA and all that. pages were loading pretty fast. in all honestly considering theres 4g in most areas for telstra shouldn't be a problem in my opinion.

        • @rj-l: im pretty excited about the zeaplus to but im worried about the software how well they optimized there roms. seems better but considering most chinese smartphone makers. dont bother even giving proper OTAs after they release there phones. theyre just end up making a new one. thats why i tend to prefer the bigger chinese companies like meizu and xiaomi.

        • @rj-l:
I was more thinking about Telstra 3G voice calls… Not data.

        • @sinners007: could be fine i guess. vodafone uses the same 850 band. calls txt, net works fine. so i assume the same for telstra.

      • How do you know it's not using 2100MHz?

        • because my area didnt use to get good vodafone coverage until the 850mhz network came on. the phone always has full bars indoors. compared to 1 or 2 if it was still using the old band so i assume its fine. thats just me.

  • Is 5.5" too big for everyday pocket carrying?

  • +1

Seem like a lot slower than Lenovo K3 Note. Antutu only 31xxx K3 Note can do 46xxx. Also K3 Note a bit thinner.

    https://www.google.com.au/search?q=Meizu+M2+Note+antutu&espv…

    • yeah i've seen that. performs pretty good tho. in real world speeds. the software on is alot better than the smaller chinese makers its more stable. in comparison to jiayu S3 which was a pretty good phone to with technically better hardware.

      • I have the K3 Note after put in custom ROM it is a lot better and smooth.

        • +1

can you link me please on that rom :))) haha. that'll come in handy for my friend. hows battery btw? any improvements? i was abit disappointed considering it came with 3000mah. i which it was like the lenovo k8 haha. now thats wat i want haha

        • @rj-l:

Start with Xda and also check whirlpool, battery is quite good but I don't use it myself I bought if for my son teenager. He use it all the time so no complaint and I reckon better than my zenfone 2.

    Too!!

  • OP should note that express shipping is not applicable from the HK warehouse. The Meizu m2 note is shipped via Singapore post.

    • any links on where you got that info? :). never seen it on there site stating or excluding HK or via singapore post

  • It was discussed during a live chat. I preordered, here is a screenshot of an email I received. http://puu.sh/iYTiF/532682cd42.png

    • wow thats quite odd. abit misleading of them. thanks for the info.

      • ANYONE ELSE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AS Damo1? :)) PLEASE TELL US!!

        • Side note- Use cash rewards for 8% cashback :D

        • @Damo1:

Cashrewards never works for me.. They opened an investigation from when I bought a Lenovo from GB. Apparently I have to wait up to 90 days for them to check their records, I guess they are hoping I will forget… I won't.

On one hand it's nice to know I'm not being tracked but on the other hand I want my rewards =/

  • Does it support regional languages like Lenovo ?? If it does, I'm in. As I wanna to buy for my dad and he sometime browse some websites in PUNJABI.

    If someone can confirm please.

Sorry to make it easier for someone, who owns this device already to help me find out about support for regional language. If they can read this on Meizu M2 - ਆਸਟਰੇਲੀਆ

If you guys see boxes where I typed a word in Punjabi… Then it means it doesn't.

Thanks heaps in advance. Help me please

  • Haha - good luck getting anything from Gearbest actually delivered ;)

    • High demanded items may be difference.

    • If you cheap out on postage, what do you expect? A low margin company isn't going to automatically refund a product that may still be on its way.

    • As the reply I received from Gearbest, they don't actually have any stock and after 2 weeks I paid I was told "they expect" to get it in one or two weeks from now. Lucky me paid by paypal

  • comes to $222AUD by paying via Paypal?

    • Yes, Paypal always higher.

  • when does this sale expire?
