Options for 12 months Prepaid Service (Cheapest in Australia)

Option 1: You have an amaysim Service and want to get one years worth of recharge (Total Cost $238.80)

This will cost you $19.90 X 12 = $238.80 ( or $226.90 with 5% off wish GC's)

Approach the service desk and ask for the offer. Some attendants will be happy to sell you 12 vouchers and some wont. So be prepared to potentially make a few trips, i find the night staff are more helpful than day staff.
Remember that every recharge will cost you $19.90 ($2 for sim pack and $17.90 for recharge). If you have no use for the multiple $2 sim packs, ask the attendant to use the same one. Then return it so other people can have a chance.
You can apply all the vouchers at once to your amaysim account and it will automatically deduct one every month.

Option 2: Buy 2 months amaysim Unlimited 5GB from Groupon for $29 and 10 months of recharge. (Total cost $225)

This will cost you $29 + $19.90 X 10 = $228 ( or ~ $218 with 5% off wish GC's)

  • Buy 2 months amaysim Unlimited from Groupon.
  • Groupon will email you a code to redeem at amaysim website.

Option 3: Buy 1st month Unlimited from Amaysim Directly using code SAVE60 and Buy 11 Recharge Vouchers. (Total cost $236.90)

Applying recharge vouchers to your amaysim account

You can apply all the vouchers at once. With this method, the system will deduct one voucher per month (up to the number of vouchers entered).
As far as i know you can enter up to 12 vouchers at once (But please confirm with amaysim customer care if you want to enter more than 12 vouchers)

You can also enter one voucher per month. Please note the expiry date of vouchers will be ~ 12 months.

    For all those wondering about amaysim, here's what to do:

    grab $2 sim pack
    Proceed to self service. Do not go past normal checkout
    Scan sim
    Select mobile voucher, amaysim, $44.90 recharge from computer screen
    Watch screen show you $19.90 total
    Repeat steps 3 and 4, up to 7 times. Any more and it won't work in the same transaction
    Pay and call attendant
    Tell attendant you are buying recharges and they will authorise
    Proceed to Go, collect recharges
    Recharges have 12 month expiry. Load them into your account so you are a month or two ahead. They are treated as a normal $44.90 recharge for the 5gb plan. Amaysim have no idea you paid less for them.

        It appears that it doesn't have to be done at the service desk as long as you have a SIM to scan (or a photo of the bar code from above?)

        Here is what i did today;

        Went to service desk, manager looking lady told me that I could only get one per person (the explanation was that you can only buy one SIM per Photo ID presented and she wouldn't budge on scanning the one SIM multiple times).
        I bought the one and then proceeded to go into the store as if I am buying more stuff - taking my newly purchased SIM with me.

        I went and picked up a packet of chips, then walked to one of the checkouts - looking for a youngish looking cashier. I gave them my chips, the SIM and told them about the deal and that I only wanted one SIM so I got them to put through another 7 recharges (seems this is the max) as well as scanning the sim 7 times.

        I then went back to the service desk - which had a different lady at the counter by now - and asked for the SIM and recharge again.
        This lady told me that the maximum was 6 recharges at once - so I bought my remaining 4 that i needed. She also handed me the 4 SIMs but I just told her to keep them as I don't need them.

        I am assuming you can take your SIM with you to the self serve as I know those recharges are available at my Woolworths at least, but you may run into problems there as I think each recharge needs to be OK'd by the Self Serve helper person (who may or may not be nice enough to let you get 7 at once)

        So I got my 12 recharges in the end (and a few really long receipts)

    I tried to do the 10GB thing last time with the coles version of this deal.
    Spoke to the CSR via online chat. Just gave them the code (didn't mention where it came from), and they knew it was for the 5GB Unlimited plan only.
    Managed to talk them into applying the $44.90 to the account as credit, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have let me add multiples of the voucher (to use for the 10GB plan).

          This is only for people who are currently on Amaysim and wish to keep their own number.

          To keep your number you need to port out to another provider eg Vodafone or Telstra. Then you port your number back.

          If you are currently with another provider or don't care about keeping your number, just buy from Groupon as they are cheaper.

But regulars on here would know that these deals and other prepaid deals come up very frequently so there is not really any real need to lock yourself in and potentially miss out on other deals (eg last month this same plan was just $1).

    Option 4:
