    Great deal, cheers :)

  • Item is out of stock.

just buy a $2 telstra starter pack, and you dont have to wait for delivery!

    • They dont convert nano sims afaik

      • +5

they're multi-size snap-off, so you can use the leftover plastic bits as spacers.

        • Oh would you look at that, i remember they used to have a separate nanosim starter pack. Guess theyve made it easier now :)

  • Anyone explain to me why some ebay sellers advertise the same item separately many times rather than having one ad with the full quantity?

    • +3

They show up more often in search results. It is easier to see an add if it's listed five times than once. It is against the eBay rules.

  • Also make use of the free express post.

  • -1

These are totally unnecessary - they're practically free with a $2 Multi-fit SIM from Telstra, which supports Mini, Micro, and Nano SIM sizes.

    • $2 is practically free?
      This is half that…WIN!

      • Yes it is. Because most of us have bought heaps of these starter packs already, which already include them. If not, just wait for your next discount SIM deal and you'll be set.

  • They arent practically free they are free if you just go in saying you need to change from micro to nano or have a new phone in telstra or vodafail at least. They will just hand you a new sim card.

    • They you a multi fit that does it all. Trust me, I've recently had a SIM replaced from Telstra. More than happy to sell one to you for 50c :P

  • Surprising warning.
Be god damned careful with these.
Had the nano fall out of a micro adapter 2/3 of the way inside a Galaxy S4 sim slot.
Tried my ass off to gently remove it, couldn't - the SIM contact pins were caught in the empty space where the nano sim would be.

Anyone wanna buy an S4 with ruined SIM slot? ($12 AUD on ebay to buy the part to fix it) but screw opening a phone up :/
    Ugh

    • Im not sure about this item exactly. But i remember i bought similar one overseas and the sim card adapter comes with glue which will hold you sim card. This deal to me its all about the sim card ejector which i keep loosing for my iphone.

    • I did the same thing with my LG Optimus 4x lol. Broke the contacts and made the phone useless.

But after searching online I sourced the required parts from Aliexpress and made my phone repair a weeked project. 2 hours later the phone lives again!

You can repair the SIM slot for your S4, some partial instructions here.

You just need to source the right parts — the SIM slot is actually mounted on what's called a 'flex cable' and can be removed from the main logic board.

The flex cable houses the SIM tray as well as the MicroSD tray. Replace this flex cable and you're good to go.

      • I cut down a full SIM to micro SIM for my S3. Stuck it in the phone and phone said "I'm locked". Kogan said it's impossible, the phone is unlocked. Back and forth with Kogan quite a few times, they wanted photos of the phone? WTF? So I thought maybe I didn't cut the SIM down properly and I wanted to compare the position of the SIM to a proper micro SIM. The only micro SIM I had was an adapter. I put that an empty adapter into my brand new S3 from Kogan. When it was time to take out the SIM I had to force it out and the SIM contacts came out with the adapter. After pushing the contacts back in the phone, I put the cut down SIM back in and after Kogan gave me the unlock code the phone worked, but I am too scared to take out the SIM to swap to another carrier. The reason for my story - is that you should never ever put an empty adapter in your phone and make sure adapters don't have gaps in them.

    • Same thing happened to my other shitty phone as well. Wouldn't recommend putting $1 adapters into a few hundred dollar phones with a chance of ruining the contacts.

  • +1

the ones in the pic i have and use and work perfectly, never had an issue.

  • I bought this one last week, the standard to micro adapter doesnt fit ! Beware. The better brand called noisy, bit more expensive but way better product.

    • +1

just use the ones that come with a SIM (the multi-fit ones). They're free, AND they fit perfectly. If you're worried about it popping out, just stick a piece of form-fitting Scotch tape on the back (the side without the contacts).

      • +1

I know that, i just informing that the normal to micro adapter doesnt fit, so beware.

    • Simcards from different carriers are a slightly different size.

For example my sim from Singtel didn't fit into my Optus sim adapter.

      • well… i know that too… but this is wayyyy to small …..

  • Ozbargained!

  • If you are current Telstra customer, you can go into any Telstra store to get a SIM swap to the desired size for free (and the blank SIM cards they use for this are Multifit for Standard SIM/Mini SIM/Micro SIM/Nano SIM) and they will give you the spacers if you ask for them (otherwise they might throw them away if they assume you don't need them). I'm not sure which other companies will give you a free SIM swap, not Virgin though they have tried to charge me for this before.

  • Handy, but only worth about 20 cents

    • Except for the whole postage thing

  • So people saying the telstra sims are multifit….can you use it to convert a nano to micro?

And yes I know I can get my carrier to swap the sim, but I sometimes temporarily have to put my sim in another phone.

EDIT: actually i just remembered I bought one of those telstra $30 starter kits when it was $1 at coles. Just opened it to have a look and you can popout nano and micro from the standard sim, and use the blank spacer as needed.
