From what I can work out the Animal is the same just with the mini motorhead which you can buy separately for $60 so Bing Lee deal more expensive? Can anyone confirm?
Confirmed. only difference is the mini motorised tool.
Never used in almost a year of owning and using the dc59 in 3 bed/2 bath house.
Also paid extra for the accessory kit.

Bought the $374 deal last night and picked up today. I haven't opened it yet but would prefer not to have to go back to the store for a full refund.
How do you guys think this will go in my 2 bedroom townhouse? For the past year I've been using an $80 upright pos from Kmart that is heavy, hard to manoeuvre, loud, the cord is constantly getting in the way and the brushes/tools are hard to connect - basically the polar opposite of this Dyson.
My biggest concern is it typically takes me 40mins - 1hr to do my entire place and if I'm going to get only 20mins out of the Dyson then I'll have to end up doing something I hate (vacuuming) over 2 days instead of 1.
Depend on how much carpet you have. If you have full carpet townhouse, I suggest to use this only for quick vacuum work. I personally will only use it for car, stairs, bathroom, and quick vacuuming after dinner (little daughter always make a mess after dinner). For thorough carpet vacuuming, I'll still rely on corded vacuum.
I presume that 20 mins running time is when the battery is new. Over time the battery capacity might be lower.
Appreciate your feedback. My place is 80% carpet and you make a good point about the 20mins being while it's new.
Might consider a corded Dyson upright down the track. They don't do a corded stick do they?
I don't think they have corded handheld.
What I think would be nice are replaceable battery and standalone battery charger. Drills have been using this method for eons

Now I'm not sure if I should have just got the DC50 upright with the Ebay dealI bought one last Friday for $399 from The Good Guys. They had the $50.00 credit in store deal, but when I went on Saturday to collect it, they only accepted Australian ID like passport or driver's licences. I'm from overseas so I don't have anything like that. They offered me a full refund and sell it again right away but not honouring the $50.00 credit so I declined.
I never saw that info until I paid so I felt upset when I went there.You could have given them your overseas passport + bill to prove your ID and address.
I had my passport, driver's license, etc. But they didn't accept them.
That's just weird.. I thought that should be sufficient to prove your identity..

Yeah, I thought the same. I've been using paypal with no issues here for more than 2.5 years. I never experience this restriction from other stores (JB, DS, HN, etc). I'm not sure if it just TGG in Mt Gravatt who are more strict about this.
I had to wait more than 20 minutes before a manager was asked about this and he said they can refund it so I could buy it again.
I said what if I use my credit card from overseas and he said it was fine. ?!?!?!. I really don't understand why they accept Paypal with that restriction. They should state that in their website before the purchase

When selecting C&C and pay with PayPal, it will throw an error, just do the payment again and it will go throughI put in the code and got the discount but why did my paypal say i paid $408 (including shipping)?

my bad, it just the paypal phone notification. Online the PC, it says the code was applied as well as on the email they sent.
My paypal said the same thing, but the amount to be charged to my card was the $320 + shipping.
My PayPal activity shows payment of $399.. My eBay shows $399 also.. Should this show the amount including the discount ($320)??

Hi guys - are the attachments interchangeable with the DC44?
As in could I use the BONUS attachments with the DC44? I doubt it, but thought id ask :)
The Bonus attachments suit older units as well. In fact my Bonus one I got this year was no different to the one two years ago, and even then it looked like they had warehouses full of them. The kit does not come in a fancy coloured box with window, but a plain brown cardboard box.

Aargh,got a phone call late afternoon, same as the earlier comments, out of stock, will be later this week.
Picked mine up from the Alexandria store about 1.5 hours after I made the purchase. Was expecting to wait hours for the confirmation email but they sent it in about half an hour and also rang my mobile (which I don't remember giving them to be honest).
Can someone tell me where the serial number is located on the device for redemption? I'm going crazy and I can't find it :(

Just a note - when I picked mine up, I saw many people getting knocked back because they didn't have their Paypal Invoice with them. The person who called and the collection email ONLY mentions photo ID (license and/or passport). The Ebay info does mention the Paypal invoice.
Also, they knocked back a few people because the address on their license didn't match the address on their system. They had left their business address in there when they checked out on Ebay and their license had their home address. The odd thing is that a passport is listed as a form of ID, but that contains no address at all, so it will never match up with their system.
They nearly knocked me back, but I happened to have a business card with me proving my business address, so they finally accepted it.
They were knocking people back until they could come back with details that matched, or even refunded some customers.

My drivers licence matched my address for pick up so all good.they are so strict.
