"Voucher will be emailed by 01.09.2015 12pm AEST. Vouchers must be redeemed by 12pm AEST 30.09.2015 in a single transaction"

30 days to use isn't long.

  • Any min to use the $20 voucher? Expiry date on the $20 voucher?

  • +8

My guess is next month cotd will list a bunch of their clearance lines that no one needs or wants.
If you take this offer, don't wait till the end of Sep to use it when there are only out of date white chocolate bars & key chain photo viewers left!

  • +2

Not bad, I've still got two weeks to go on my Club Catch trial which offers free shipping on a $50 spend, so this might actually prove worthwhile.

    • +1

This is perfect timing for me, I've got just a few days left on two different CC accounts & almost made a purchase last night!

I'll be stocking up on Quest bars or similar.

  • +27

i struggle to find enough crap on COTD to get to a $50 spend.

  • +21

They used to have good "catches"… They should replace "Catch" with "Crap" or rename the Website to "Crap for Today".

    Just my opinion.

Nonetheless, it's a good bonus to tuck away just in case something amazing makes an appearance.

Or to use their full name, Same Crap Different Day.

  • +2

Ever since they started doing multiple deals, I've found that they've gone downhill.

Bring back the previous COTD where it was 1 great deal!

    • i stopped bothering when they started hiding rubbish within the 1 great deals .. now its mainly rubbish and hardly ever a great deal.

  • +4

A few of the Club Catch deals end in 5 and a half hours. Be interesting to see what they're replaced with.

    • +1

I think it is a system clock which is periodic, I fell for that trap. It starts the clock again for same product

  • Would this be available for new signups?

  • +1

Can I use the $30 voucher from the previous deal and spend $80+ and get $20?

    Thanks

Same here, anyone care to chat to them Please

      • Why can't you chat with them and find out if you have vested interest in the outcome?

        • +2

Because I am lazy and their chat reps are not top notch

        • +3

          @777:

          +1 for honesty

Good on you for effort in typing

  • please share and post some deals, people.

spend $50 for $70 dollars worth of goods from catch of the day. if i think about it this way its kinda meh.

    • Don't forget the $10 shipping cost for purchases under $50 for Club Catch members.
      So if you bought $50 + $20 it's $50 for $60.
      If you bought $50 + $50 it's $80 for $100.

For people without Club Catch it's essentially just a free shipping coupon with a minimum spend.

COTD is approaching Dick Smith's level on devaluing their discount codes by near daily frequency.

Oh, and 99% of the stuff they are flogging is either less popular sizing, factory seconds, or just plain junk.

With comments like that, you might have to change your user name.

Like others said, CRAP OF THE DAY is back again!

  • if we use store credit, i'll still be eligible?

Believe or not, I typed the texts below because COTD has them on a JPG!!! I am still in the typing game.

And ya coulda just OCR'd it …

  • Did people receive their voucher from the last one (I think it was spend over 100 and get 30)? I still haven't got mine

    • +2

Same I did not get anything. But i spoke with chat team and they gave me $30 store credit.

        • yeah, but it didn't work with my email.

        • @viki8702:

Did you spend over $100 on the specific event / deal, after shipping and any other discounts?

My guess is you didn't qualify, or you have multiple accounts and you're checking the wrong one?

Otherwise, if they genuinely made a mistake you need to contact them to follow it up and I'm sure they will fix it - if you actually qualified for the voucher.

  • https://www.catchoftheday.com.au/event/pantry-fillers-galore… is the only thing I may buy. They used to sell goji berry …

    • Woolworths Select Walnuts (Californian) are about $1.30 cheaper per kilo, anything special about JC's Cali Walnuts that I'm missing?

      • My bad for some reason I read it 1kg for $9.99 ….

        • That would be a great price!

  • +3

I'm wondering if it matters if I use credit to purchase the initial order.

Edit Spoke to rep, just as long as order total is over $50 :)

According to an email that i just got the next sale for club members will be a 1000+ items 50% off clearance sale starting in September (right after this current toy sale ends) so that's probably why they're giving away $20 vouchers. Getting ready for the big sale.

  • Has any one actually received a voucher yet?. Banner that was on the COTD web site claimed that the voucher emails are supposed to be sent by mid night 31 Aug 2015. I made an order for $69.99 on Aug 29 and so far nothing yet.

    • as i understood it,

Offer ends Sunday Midnight (30/8). Voucher will be emailed by 01.09.2015 12pm AEST.

      • Oh i mistakenly thought it was mid night tonight. My mistake.

If the vouchers are being emailed by 12pm 1 September then i bet this upcoming 50% off clearance sale (for Club members) begins on 2 September or there abouts.

        • The voucher is valid until the end of September (30th) so there'll be plenty of time for the clearance event - that's assuming it's any good.

  • +1

    Received the voucher via email

    CATCH20OFF

*Coupon cannot be redeemed towards shipping costs and is not redeemable for cash. Coupon value must be used within a single transaction - unused value will be forfeited. Max 1 coupon redeemable per account. Offer expires 12pm Midday AEST Wednesday 30th of September 2015.

    • +1

I received the voucher too and it's exactly the same coupon code. At least there doesn't appear to be a minimum spend.

I think the Club member 50% off clearance sale must be starting real soon is obviously why they're giving out these vouchers.

Once I made an order there was an offer, from Visa checkout, save $20 on your next order. Did that and then there's another offer from Visa again, this time $10 off. No codes, it applies automatically when you select the Visa Checkout payment method.

My club catch expires tmr so decided why not :-)

        • Hi, may i know how did u get to know the discount with visa checkout? is it a targeted offer via email or something else? Do u know when does the offer expires? Thanks in advance! Cheers

        • +3

          @YLC
Hi, I'll answer you with some pictures:

The offer showed up on their website after I made a purchase (I didn't use Visa for this purchase):
          http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/77537/33249/catch_visa_…

To check if you can get the discount, just add something to your cart, then select the Visa Checkout payment option, you will soon find out if you get it, like this: http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/77537/33250/catch_visa_…

As previously mentioned there are no codes. Don't know if it's targeted, but I've received 3 in a row ($20, $10, $10).

Each one says it's valid for 7 days and that it cannot be used on shipping costs.

        • @nismo: thanks heaps!!

        • +1

@nismo: for anyone wondering, its not random, and its not a code. you must purchase over $50 to get your account flagged with the $20 purchase. the next purchase after that is $10 and another $10 after that.

        • +1

          Thanks - bugger. got $10 and $10.

        • +1

          @xEnt:
Thanks xEnt, that makes sense because I spent over $50 the first order I saw this - so I could use another voucher and get free shipping (Club).

        • @xEnt: Thanks xEnt & nismo, got the VISA checkout code with $50 purchase.

        • @xEnt:
I purchased @$52 and it only gave me a $10 code.

        • @cwongtech: was your final total 52?

        • @jdf:
          Yup.

        • @cwongtech: dunno then…

        • @cwongtech:

My first order was $57.90, which is after the CATCH20OFF and club catch shipping. So $29.99 in discounts, the order totalled $87.89 before any discounts, not sure if it matters but I got the $20 Visa Checkout offer.

  • Just note that the $20 voucher doesn't cover the shipping fee. That's a pity.
