  • Cheers unity. Will come in handy :)

Hi-jacking top comment to offer another barcode in case OPs gets a DDoS on it.
Number is 9353 0018 47374 for those entering it at the self-checkout.
The lady at Masters today said that they have been told to take the receipts from customers when they are used, so make sure you are quick!

      • Or… print the barcode out yourself and scan it at Self Serve. Takes a fraction of the time it takes to read/enter a 13 digit code.

These popular touchscreen deadbolts are $89.10 with discount - bought 2 this morning on way to work.

        • has anyone else ever had a masters voucher barcode (original or otherwise) scan properly or am i just unlucky?

        • @tdw: I forgot to mention, the Masters scanners dont like reflective surfaces, such as phone/smartwatch screens.
Better off printing/scanning off paper. But yeah Ive had no problems with printed codes, as long as they are valid.

        • @systmworks: i've never got the paper vouchers to scan either

        • +2

          Good idea.
Here is a clean, printable version of my barcode; hopefully easily read by the scanners.

        • thanks, printed and scanned, saved me $12.40 :)

        • @cymon: absolute legend. keep it up :)

  • YES! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS

  • +1

Masters has been really on their game lately with these things. Good to see.

    • +3

Masters need more sales staff and product range than sales or it will go bye bye.

      • -1

Masters is still building new stores. There's a new one opening near me in 2016. There is no way Woolworths will give up. Too much money and reputation sunk into Masters to give up now.

        • Still doesn't cover the crappiness that is their product range for anything but shiny widgets, bleh.

        • Sunk cost fallacy

  • +2

I wonder if this can be used on washing machines?

    • +1

My thoughts exactly, I've been waiting or a washing machine deal.
Should be OK though, the conditions don't exclude Appliances as Masters often do.

Hopefully there will be a sale on a good one and we can double discount.

      • same here… am in the market for a washing machine.

        • -1

          get a bosch

        • @sli: any specific model that you suggest ?

        • any suggestion for front-loader for around $800 ??

        • -1

I got a F&P (WH8560P1) delivered for $850 when they did this last time. Excellent machine. Don't forget to maximise your discount by taking advantage of their pricematch policy on appliances.

        • +2

@ddaus: They also have free delivery over $500 on appliances at the moment as well: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/210280

        • @ddaus:

That's the one I want but the 10% excludes it

        • @D6C1: y do u think its excluded ?

        • @spk:

It didnt apply the discount online. Unless I'm doing something wrong?

        • +3

@D6C1: Please read the post carefully, it starts from 14th September

        • @spk:

Thanks mate. Never knew a washing machine can bring me so much excitement lolol

        • -2

If your getting a Bosch then make sure you get the one made in Germany, not India or some other exotic place, the difference will be reflected in the price.

        • +2

At least the Indian ones were made by Indians, not sure who made the German ones though, lol….

        • -1

          @AllWins: very true !

        • @dewso It wasn't free when I bought mine but they honoured it as I got them to price match with Appliances Online.

        • -1

@dewso: any idea if they'll take away an old washing machine?

        • -1

@spk: I think I'm going to go for the Electrolux. Same insides as the AEG with the brushless motor.

        • -1

          @OldBugger: I find this interesting F&P 7.5Kg

    • Also extra 5% off gift cards from Cashrewards…..

    • Plus bonus Cash back from Cashrewards

      • +2

Yes you can take advantage of the gift cards but bonus CashRewards would work only if you are buying Online, and that, doesn't allow you to do a price match with other sellers as it is available instore only. Basically, one has to see which one is more beneficial in their situation. I personally didn't use the gift cards I had as buying with Credit Card was providing two years additional warranty (Masters cost for the machine was $179) for free. Using my discounted gift cards on buying day to day stuff from other shops (i.e. BigW & Wollies).

        • I think buying with credit card with my NAB Premium card will give me one extra year warranty. Any other cards give two years extra warranty?

        • @ddaus:
will be interesting to know which credit card provides 2 years warranty ?

        • Westpac Platinum Visa Card does.

        • Ah good point ddaus. Now to decide which of my cards is best to use.

Coles - 2 year price protection, or
Amex plat edge - extra 1 year warranty

        • @OldBugger: Is that the coles Mastercard with $0 Annual fee ?

        • @spk: no. It's the rewards version with the $89 annual fee. Currently you get $100 voucher on approval of the card

        • Good point!

Any idea what the cost of extra warranty would cost on a $2500 fridge? And how it would compare to saving the 5% giftcaed saving?

    • Not sure if the free delivery includes installation or just leaving it at your front door. Definitely does not include removal of old washing machine. If you want installation+removal, can't do the order online.

  • DW

  • Sweet. I've been waiting to buy something, and this together with cashback and egift cards will save me about $35 off $200.

    • Well that didn't end up happening. Instead of driving for an hour to the closest Masters to buy my outdoor bar table, I'm making one with parts from Bunnings.

  • Useful, thanks.

  • Wonder if they will leave the free deliver promo on at the same time

    • looks like it on until 30/09 - so its a YES

  • -6

10% off from Masters is like that "Target $10 off $60 clothing". Nothing special about this.
    It happens way too often.

  • +1

Great to combine with Free deliveries on $500+ for appliances, Wish Giftcards and Cashrewards

  • +1

Does anyone know if you can use the 10% off on top of the 10% price match?

    • 10% price "BEAT" doesn't apply to Appliances. For everything else, I believe, you can combine both.

  • +3

Thanks for including the bar code. I'll do my usual trick of manually entering it at self checkout :)

    • -7

      Care to share the trick?

      Otherwise it's just trashtalking.

      • +7

I just explained it right in that post.

        Comprehension issues or just trolling?

        • Comprehension issues….
Usually the staff comes across to enter manually…. Then I might have to surrender my phone with the coupon picture.

        • +2

@lovepub: lol never heard of a ozbargainer having to surrender their phone for the sake of a voucher.

you don't need a staff member to enter it in for you. that button is accessible for customers on the checkout system

        • +4

@tdw: I've lost 3 iphones and 2 androids due to having to surrender my phone to masters staff. in hindsight the cost of the phones didn't outweigh the benefits of using the codes :(

        • @altomic: hahahahaha at least you have an excuse to keep upgrading your phone

        • Try this from your phone guys

          http://i.imgur.com/kGMq3Uo.gif

    • so how did you go ? did it work ?

      • it hasn't started yet.

        • it has now.. let us know if you try

        • +1

          @seshil: going tomorrow. should i live-tweet it? ;)

        • @tdw: that would be nice :)

        • +1

@seshil: confirmed barcode number works. comes up on the screen as "loyalty card" :)

  • So where did you get the receipt from? After you shop at Woolworths?

    • +1

      Most likely Woolworths.

    • +2

      After shopping at Masters.

  • I was wondering if you could do this: Purchase item A with the 10% discount then go to Bunnings with the discounted sales receipt and ask for price match. If they agree to beat the price by 10%, go back to Masters and return item A. Is it also possible to go back to Masters the next day and show them the discounted sale receipt from Bunnings and ask for price match?

    • +1

repeat the cycle till it gets in to negative, and finally the store will pay you!

      • +13

If you keep beating a price by 10% it'll never go negative :P

        • -1

or rather they get the item for free!

        • @spk: that's…quite the effort. Ozbargain way

    • Masters are definetly not as easy to get a refund from as bunnings.

      • Having said that, Bunnings' aren't as easy as Bunnings' used to be!
I suspect abuse of the easyness(sic)(tm)

At one time, you could rock up without your receipt.
Then, they changed it to having to sign and fill in paperwork.
Then, they changed it to receipt required AND original debit or credit card used.
        and
The last item I asked for a refund, because they were unwilling to repair/replace in a timely manner (estimated 6 weeks), I had to wait for a manager, then argue my consumer rights, show them my receipt, the issue with the product (Briggs and Stratton petrol powered high pressure cleaner - it ran out of high pressure btw), try to get fobbed off to the manufacturer again… .
After much arguing, they agreed to store credit!

        • Ha- I had a similar problem also a pressure cleaner but that didn't do what the salesman said it would.

I was told Bunnings wasn't subject to the Australian Consumer Guarantee and Australian Consumer Law, by the store manager, not too nicely.

        • +1

@tonka: Which store? Manus Island? I'll email the dumb shite a copy.

        • @tonka:
          Guy's a fool Tonka.
Australia law sits above any company policy (of course)
          See your rights here:
          https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees

        • @King Tightarse: Yeah, I was stunned, this was the store manager and Bunnings stores are huge, I ended up contacting the area manager who was really nice and a bit better trained.

    • I'm pretty certain Bunnings only beats a competitor's advertised price.

  • Am still after a lawnmower…could not find good deals lately….any recommendation from the range in Masters?

    • +2

Lawnmower… Avoid the below $200 price range made in China. Mine died after 2 months. Less than 10 times use. Quality is so bad.

      • +3

10 times in 60 days ? Are you sure you are growing "grass". :)

    • Couldn't you use a pair of scissors?

    • Troy Bilt TB130. Popular and well rated in USA, monster 21" cut, Honda engine. Lawn looks unreal.

    • I am going to buy the Bosch Rotak 43 Li cordless mower $599 x 10% off = $539.10.
Seems to get very good reviews all over.

    • Changing my mind - it looks like the Ego 56V Lawn Mower is the new best player.

      • didnt you get one with this deal? :o https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/208754

        • No I missed out on that. Wrong timing, wasn't into mower at that time.
I might reconsider the Bosch because it is actually almost half the weight of the Ego.
Will walk into a store and have a feel.

        • @leesangyee:
Does lawn mower get free shipping too?
