  • didnt know dse did dyson

    • Yeah dse & jbhifi moving into GG & HN Territory

      • Good. More competition the better

  • Is this a good price ?

Have been in the market for one looks good.

  • +2

Sounds insulting. You're an absolute handstick, mate!

  • damn theres no click and collect. plus $9.95 shipping

  • How does it compare to the V6 animal?

    • +1

      This is the top model.

      • +3

The main unit is exactly the same. Just more attachments.

        • This has the hepa filter

    • +3

It has sunroof, leather handle, big colour LCD screen with satnav to direct you to the dirtiest place in your house…and it is a electricity powered version…not petro nor disel..

  • +1

That is a really good price for the V6 absolute!

  • +1

    really good price

  • Plus $9.95 delivery

  • can someone tell me the diffrence between the dyson v6 handstick from the TGG sale for 320 compared to the absolute? Is it even worth upgrading? It looks the same ?

    • No. Just more attachments. But the motor head is supposed to be more powerful on the motorhead and absolute version. By the way which TGG sale? and the absolute has a HEPA filter
      Comparison is here

      http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/dyson-v6-handstick-vacuum

      • do you think it's worth upgrading from V6 base model ? I want the attachments, but they are not currently available in Australia, so confused what to do.

        • +1

If you want more thorough cleaning on your floorings it's worth it but only if there's a sale, the price gap between the two isn't worth it unless you have loads of cash.

    • its just the attachments. the main "engine" body is identical, same amounts of power. also after reading quite a few reviews, the standard v6 handstick is more than enough for day to day jobs. if youve got really bad carpet, and pets, then the other models will come in handy.

  • +1

Also note the $99 free Dyson attachments redemption has now finished on this model.

  • I just want the Hard Floor Head and Dyson Aus not selling to me..

    • Why don't they sell it to you? Just tell them you broke the one came with the machine you've just purchased.

      • I tried, they said, show proof of purchase and they will send you a new one for free.

        • Well, if they really want to give customers a hard time then buy a new one from store (with good return policy) then use the invoice to obtain what you need then return the purchased unit. Not a very ethical approach but Dyson gives you no choice.

    • Am I missing something?

Masters sell the hard floor tool. Myer also.

Just buy it at a retailer?

      • Not for V6 model.. Its called Fluffy head for V6 which can be used on my DC59

there is only one item on sale on Ebay for Aus $227.82 from overseas seller + Postage $74

        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dyson-V6-Dc59-Hard-Floor-Fluffy-S…

        • Ok. That makes sense. The "Hard Floor Tool" for my model is something completely different.

    • +1

I spoke to a Dyson rep recently who said they can't sell it separately because it does not have a retail SKU. However, they do plan on selling it separately in the near future and it'll retail at around $129. But otherwise…only way to obtain one now is via a receipt & serial number of the unit to obtain a replacement at a cost.

(This is with regards to the new 'fluffy' hard floor head).

      • If it doesn't have the retail SKU, then hpw come they are selling the replacement heads to Fluffy and Absolute Owners.

        • They are not selling it, as you said it's replacements. Only owners can get new ones if someone goes wrong with their one.

        • @cortex21: they have to pay for it or free ??

        • +1

@OzSikhs: from what I was told; free replacement if malfunction covered by warranty, cost (I don't know how much) if you damage it and not covered by warranty. Essentially, you need to prove you own either v6 fluffy or absolute with receipt & serial number.

        • @OzSikhs: What Plasma said is pretty much on point. The only other way of getting one would be somehow if someone was selling theirs for parts or spares.

    • I'm in the same boat, I have a V6 baze model, Called Dyson to purchase a “Soft Roller Head” for the Hard floors, they asked me the serial no. of the machine and said they can't sell it to me as I bought a V6 not the V6 Fluffy or V6 Absolute.

      • Is it still ok on hard floors without that head?

        • Yes, the head comes with it, is made to use on both Carpets and Hard floors, but I'm just fussy, I wanna keep the separate heads.

  • Sold out :( Does anyone know if they are likely to restock?

  • Are these really comparable to a proper vacuum? It looks more like a glorified dust buster.

    • +1

Far from it. These arw Good!!

      • +1

I have both the full size Dyson and the Stick. Even I dismissed the stick as just a dustbuster. Then I got one. Now i almost never use the full size vacuum. Its to do with the combination of the vacuum and the motorized head that makes it so useful. Not to mention light and easy to use

  • Has anyone replaced their main vac with this?
I have a small 4bdr house, only really the bedrooms that are carpeted. My Aldi elcheapo vac does a very average job, so considering this.
20mins should be enough if I don't have to fluff around with power cables.

    • +1

Yes. My floors take about 20 mins to vacuum. On a full charge, there's no worries with regards to the vacuums battery life. I've never needed to use the Max mode which only lasts 5-6 minutes. The bin does fill up quickly and I do need to empty it half way through, but I don't see that as a bad thing as obviously it is doing its job, and doing it well. It makes vacuuming far less tedious and convenient.

    • +1

We have a ducted in wall vacuum and recently got one of these and the Dysons much better in terms of suction as well as being more practical (so it gets used more often).

We have a 3 bedroom place and can do it in under 20 mins. You may need to empty the bin a couple of times during a clean, but otherwise I'd recommend it especially if you don't like dragging units behind you.

    • +1

We have a full sized Dyson and this handheld gets used 100% since we got it, its simple, quick, very powerful and we have a larger house and it still does all our carpeted areas. I used it on the car as well and I am very happy with it. The $99 kit you get for free is a bonus as well if they still have that offer on Dysons site.

  • There was a total of 37 units available all sold out.

  • Looks like they're out of stock

  • I saw this last night and held off too long :-(. Oh well. $550 is still expensive!!

  • +3

Thanks, went to the Good Guys as I bought this two weeks ago and they refunded 120% of the difference back. Second time in 2 weeks I have done it…… Ozbargainer level - Master

  • I got the V6 Animal at TGG earlier this week for $423 on the EBay CLICK15 offer. Also getting the $99 bonus tool kit. It's a fantastic tool and well worth the money. At the moment, Australia is probably the cheapest in the world for many Dysons - certainly these V6s are cheaper than the US and radically less than the UK
