• Seems legit, says code is not ready for use, I wonder when it starts

• +144

Starts when they remove products & up prices

• +5

yep that takes time too

• +63

To be honest that is a very unfair comment to make. The Good Guys has been the one consistent retailer who has NOT done that at all. From my previous experiences over 4 or 5 of these 'ebay sales' they are always already the cheapest amongst all the major retailers. Their prices match their website and most in-store prices.

Keep up the good work GG.

• +7

@wazza23: Good guy The Good Guys.

• +11

@Aids: what a username haha

• -6

@wazza23: just as unfair as 76 people negging the dick smith 30% off eBay deal when there was heaps of good stuff for sale & also applied to items already discounted, eg: laptops/tv's/GoPro/cameras/tablets/dyson/Fitbit Etc.. Sure some items went up in price or where removed before the sale but people have to understand retailers work on high volume & small margins, 30% off + ebay fees can take certain items below cost, overall you will find the ds 30% off was much better then tgg 20% off, my other comment above is just tongue in cheek.

Anyway I defended dick smith neg away people lol

• +3

@RogueWolf: It's deserved. Hence Tricky Dicky

• +2

@RogueWolf: You are right for the most part but I think ppl wouldn't be as annoyed if an item was removed during a sale rather jacking up the price so that it's so obviously inconsistent with what's on the main website.

• +1

@gadget: agree better to remove then up price, but as far as I've seen ds only ups price to rrp not above rrp like kogan or there's

• @RogueWolf: I recall seeing a few times (that I've looked) where the ebay price was WAAAY over the website price and the sale simply brought them to parity.

• @gadget: ds website n ebay site are run differently, some days it's better to buy from eBay others there website, end of the day every time they discount it forces others to discount/price match /price beat, which is a win for us, have to look at the bigger picture

• +1

@RogueWolf:
I agree with you. All retailers seem to do that. We need to be aware ourselves.

• +2

@RogueWolf:
Totally with you on this.

When I needed a washing machine recently Good Guys had the best price by far. I also couldn't pass up the Dick Smith 30% offer the previous week; best price around for the latest Kindle PaperWhite 300PP and leather folder.

Also took advantage of signing in through the CashRewards site. Yes, we OzB's are a canny lot!

• @RogueWolf: Fair enough.

• @wazza23:
Last time I bought Canon 70D which was the cheapest I could find. That being said, I checked the Samsung S6 price yesterday and it was $800, today is $1000. So NO deal at all…

• @wazza23: ah ok thanks for that clarification. i guess its just a knee-jerk reaction to "SALE SALE SALE" nowadays. 20% discount storewide! = marked up 20% beforehand. "scientists discover X!" = actually only applies for small amount of people. blergh.

• +11

Actually The Good guys is the only store in the past that didnt up the prices

• Yeah it was weird seeing the price of what I bought at the last ebay 15% off sale actual go UP after that!

• +21

They are not "Dicks"

• Bought my nikon lens…..was there before sale…..no price change…..discount worked.

• I can't find MacBook?

• +3

Yeah eyeing off a Dyson v6 (seems to be the new eneloop around here), that code would bring it down to close to 400

• I really wish I pulled the trigger when the free tool kit was available too. Do those tools come with the Animal/Absolute?

• +1

No, but good guys have the toolkit listed for $89….($71 after discount)
Wish I jumped on board earlier too!

The Absolute just has both the Motorhead + Fluffy heads included.

• +1

How many dysons can a person buy…

• +27

the dream is one for each room

• +5

Correction: The dream is for one for each hand in each room.

• +7

i'm still rockin a broom and dustpan and brush haha

• Divide the total time to clean your entire house by the maximum runtime on highest suctions (I believe it's 5 minutes max?). Then buy accordingly LOL

• +1

Its a shame they dont have the complete range on there like the the DC45.

• +1

so many diff v6 model any diff between them? thinking of getting one as well

• Attachments that come in box, and filter on the Absolute.

It's a shame the Moto G Gen 3rd hasn't been released yet, otherwise I would have made use of this coupon like I did with my Gen 1. Thanks OP

• +1

I like the motorolas, but the main thing was them talking up updates, and near-stock Android, and didn't they just totally fail at that recently? No more Android updates for a phone only a year old?

• Yep they're all shit at keeping their update promises. If you care about security patches and software upgrades your only really hope is a Nexus device.

• +1

Great timing I need a new fridge and washer… do they put their whole store on ebay?

• +2

Any good fridge around?

• @Elijha Go to their ebay store and have a look? The short answer is no.

• I am looking for washer & fridge too,
but looks like I'll have to buy elsewhere….

Samsung washer was $457.04
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/213485

The Good Guys upped/reverted back the prices……
$639 + delivery

• +1

The Good Guys upped/reverted back the prices……

That was a sale price, wasn't it? Surely you don't expect them to offer a discount on top of a discount?
And to their credit, they dropped the price during that click15 offer period.

• yes, that's why I am not complaining or negging the deal, just sadly it was a bargain at $457.04!
but now after 20% discount it's will be $511+($35~$40) delivery which gonna be $100 dearer……

it was $496+delivery a week ago even before this so called "20% off"

• +13

Was totally just checking something out from Good Guys and decided not to buy. This would be awesome!

• +20

Don't know why someone decided to neg you. People are upset that you didn't lose money? +1 to you. Frugal on son.

• +1

Keen to see the deals assuming they don't jack their prices / limit stock.

• I know Dick Smith is infamous for it but I'm not sure about Good Guys.

• 20% off is a decent saving though. Not expecting too many miracles but Rep reading this feel free to prove me wrong…

• +1

From previous experience they won't unlike dick.

• +2

Obligatory.. any good deals? I don't think anything will beat the 30% off PS4 consoles at Dick Smiths ebay recently.

• +1

Code not active yet so we can't tell as prices may change (looking at you Dick)

• +17

Stop looking at Dick, people might get the wrong idea.

• +2

Or the right price, depending on which way one swings.

• -6

there is no PS4s in there store on ebay…… if anyone finds it link me?

• +3

Gg don't sell games anymore.

• +1

Actually I believe it was 30% off (perhaps just about) everything on Dick's ebay (CDICK30?). I purchased a Kindle PaperWhite 300PP and also the original folder with that promotion just last week. Of course I took advantage of signing on through Cash Rewards too.

• +1

when does it start ? :)

• +1

Hopefully prices won't rise 19% the day before.

• +2

A saving of 1% is still a saving. Just look for the item priced at $100,000 to get the maximum $1000 off… (Probably the OLED UHD 4K Curved Wifi Virtual Augmented Reality TV)

• +1

I know you're been facetious, but you could at least do the maths right!

• Well.. it is right if you put my statement in a vacuum; 1% of 100k is $1K

• @massafiri: That's true, but not what I was referring to.

An increase of 19% followed by a decrease of 20% does not make a saving of 1%…

• @Jad: Yes understood - I just didn't want to do the Math :P

• Not yet ready to use …

• DAMN I just spent $800 there last week :( :( :( :(

• +1

They do these sales quite regularly, if you can't wait then always go instore and haggle.

• +6

Just don't go to the Bankstown store. The manager is shady af.

• +3

Ask for their 30 days price guarantee to get the difference or return the item if unused and buy it online.

• +1

Won't apply to ebay, who are paying the 20%

• or buy and return with old receipt, usually they're happy to give me a refund without doing if there is a price difference anyway.

• +1

I tried this last year. They don't price guarantee against eBay, nor themselves.

http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/30-day-price-guarantee#terms

• +4

There's going to be some great bargains if prices remain the same. Hope goodguys doesn't make a dick move like Kogan and jack up prices of everything and have a few good groupdeals..

• +6

doesn't make a dick move like Kogan

unintentional pun?

• Just targeted the catch of the day with my masters successfully making for a supercheap price for these dicky eBay deals…

Puns should only be qd or they become office work :)

• The didnt. overnight the galaxy s6 went from 799 to $1000

• Totally agree. Hopefully the prices are kept the same.

• Can see prices of 4K TV's have jumped up a bit recently. If deal doesn't start until tomorrow morning, they will jack them up tonight :(

• +1

Sony 4K KD55X8500C- $1980 Hopefully if the price doesn't go up.

• +1

@Spizz: That's a great buy. Has the cashback deal with the sound bar if you buy it today or tomorrow too. Hope the deal goes lives by then :)

• +1

@ShamelessBargains:

Looks like it will as the deal starts tomorrow. So Sony 4K KD55X8500C for $1980 and essentially a free Sony Soundbar via Cashback-

http://www.sony.com.au/microsite/braviacashback/

Does that mean if you purchase tomorrow that you have then a 14 day grace period to lodge the cashback, or does that page close tomorrow?

• +1

@ShamelessBargains:

Sounds awesome thanks for heads up

• @Spizz: purchase period ends tomorrow so you must be given at least 7 days to lodge the cashback form.

I recommend click and collecting the TV and sound bar tomorrow and lodge the cashback paperwork tomorrow night just in case :)

• +1

@Meconium: you are welcome, I hope the price stays the same as this bundle is a steal!

• @ShamelessBargains:

Just remember to purchase the soundbar with the TV in the one transaction, and even though you wont get any discount on the soundbar (as it will exceed the $500 20% limit) you will meet the eligibility for the cashback.

• @Spizz:

You can use the 20% cashback for upto 3 purchases (capped at $500 per purchase) so you can still get the soundbar discounted too :)

• +2

@ShamelessBargains:

Yes, but read the T&Cs. Must be in the same transaction to be eligible for the cashback.
To be eligible customers need to purchase a qualifying Sony BRAVIA TV and Sound bar in the same transaction.
So no discount on the soundbar.

• @Spizz: Damn that's a shame… T&Cs are so annoying sometimes. Still I haven't seen this TV that cheap before.

• +3

@Spizz: I can't seem to find this model on their ebay store… has it been removed?
nvm found it..

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-KD55X8500C-55-139cm-UHD-LED-…

• @chamzoo:

Nice. Which model of soundbar is the best? From the above cashback link it seems all three models (or equivalents) have $300 cashback if you buy this 55" TV. Is it worth getting one if there's no 20% off as it has to be in one transaction? If so, which one would be best?

Appreciate advice. This will be my first decent-sized LCD TV - the one I'm using is 21.5"!

Thanks

• +2

@Meconium:

Might as well grab the cheapest (HTCT180) one as you will end up getting it for free anyway via the cashback. So it doesn't matter if you don't get 20% off the soundbar.

Actually you will end up with $26 in your pocket after the $300 cashback as the GG have the HTCT180 for $274.

As an aside if/when someone lists this TV as a deal in a few hours (I'll be at work), please include all this information as well in the deal (ref single transaction, cashback, etc).

• +2

@Spizz: Ordered this TV with the HTCT180 Soundbar (link below)

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-HTCT180-Soundbar-100W-NEW-/1…

All up $2249 excluding delivery. Will get $300 back from the soundbar & another 4% back from cashrewards making this combo easily under $2k.

Very happy!

Edit: Placed order at 10:05am and got a call from Good Guys confirming a delivery date with me @ 10:45am. Good Guys!

• +2

@chamzoo:
Hey man, just bought the tv and sound bar as well. Am just wondering if you have lodged the cashback yet and if so, which did you submit to Sony? I haven't received a tax invoice yet and I will have to pick up the tv and sound bar at 2 different stores. I've only got the eBay confirmation email that shows both.

I'm actually on my way to pick up the tv! :D

• @metric: Haven't lodged it yet, will try to tonight!

• @metric: I did the same!! I called Sony and explained them the story, the sony rep i dealed with was very helpful and he did mention it should be fine.

• @jwan142: Yep, so did I! Fingers crossed there are no issues!

• can anyone tell that the TGG gift card works on ebay
