So do these come with malware?

    OnePlus 2 artice;

    • +7

Doubt it. I'm flashing CM on it anyway.

Have had the 16GB version for over a year now, running CM13 Marshmallow perfectly and battery life/performance is awesome.
Going for this 64GB version for more space.

      Absolutely love this phone.

And as a bonus, enjoy frequent FCs, particularly from the camera.

        • FCs ??

@Stevo: Force Close - when Android apps crash

        • +1

no force close issues for me.

        • @azza92: Thanks

      • Any bugs now? like the inaccurate touch issue

        • Nope. None.

  • +1

I bought Meizu m2 note from jd and it was loaded with all sorts of malware A reflash fixed the issue anyway. Good deal.!

    • +1

Do you mean Chinese apps, or actual malware?

      • +1

        I think it's just bloatware.

Factory reset would get rid of it all.

      • They put malware there were pop ups. The firmware was not the proper one, so I just changed to official

      • -3

Gee, fanboys hurt strong like usual! Make sure to install 12 anti-viruses, heaven forbid using a phone by a company that actually gives a toss about security. Where were all of you defending Lenovo when they decided to ship computers chock full of malware?

You guys should check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkNxvUrWQ_Q
Total true story, lap it up!

It's no different to renting a house that comes with hidden security cameras built in. Wtf. "Just remove them then it's all good'. Yeah…. no.

        • +1

I'm pretty sure those downvotes weren't from Apple fanboys. You're preaching to Android users - no one except true Android users would have even heard of OnePlus. I couldn't imagine Apple users would even care to click through to this deal, let alone read the comments.

        • -4

Exactly, Android fanboys. "Sure it comes with adware, just re-install the OS and it's good though!". Um…

        • +1

@rochow: what the heck are you on about… renting a house and buying a phone? isn't there an apple thread you can go and valiantly defend the $1000+ prices (which i assume is where ppl would be trolling)?… some people are happy to pay less than $300 for a very good phone and just change the OS .. just deal with it..

i dont even get what the heck your youtube clip is meant to be… "Published on Dec 10, 2015 Nathan recruits a professional bodybuilder to be the face of his new exercise program and kicks off an aggressive publicity campaign." …

        • The uploader has not made this video available in your country.
I love the way discrimination is not allowed… Until it is!

        • @rochow: These "malwares" are basically are from suppliers up in the supply chain, not the manufacturers judging by factory resetting getting rid of those, installing their own junk onto the phone. If you want to do similar thing on iPhone, I've heard that it's possible (i.e. jailbreak the phone, install malware etc). So I don't understand why you are trying to make the problems with the supply chain from China into a problem that's with all Android phones.

        • +1

You're blaming Android as an OS because a manufacturer shipped with malware, that doesn't make any sense.
What you're doing is the equivalent of blaming Microsoft for Lenovo's malware.

        • -2

I may have been on a US VPN at the time, it worked for me. Hilarious.

The point was this isn't a great deal. A passing comment, like "oh yeah may have malware, just re-install the OS though!". Seriously? So many people will blindly defend Android to the end of the earth. Yes it's most likely side loaded given how easy it is to do. It's probably pretty basic, not stealing too much info, more just displaying ads. I'm certainly not willing to chance my logins etc knowingly buying a phone that could well have malware already on it. It's not possible to completely avoid, buying from a reputable seller will see you safe nearly 100% of the time though.

        • +3

          @rochow:

I could just as easily jailbreak an iPhone, install malware and sell it to you, which is what happened here, ie. a dodgy supplier. Nothing to do with Android or the manufacturer, everything to do with the supplier.

Also, you do realise that there's been two instances of malware in the App Store this year and none in Google Play?

  • +1

Same thing with K3 Note from JD, loaded with malware.

  • This is the one plus one which was the first one to come out was hard to get hands on for awhile too

  • +11

And if it stuffs up, claiming warranty is a piece of cake from Chinese vendors…

    Said no one ever.

    • +18

Warranty very good satisfaction you always!

      • +7

        I'm glad they didn't say
        warranty love you long time

        • +1

          It's not made in Vietnam.

    • +2

I had an issue with my Redmi Note 2 and JD's refund/repair process was actually very good, biggest problem was the 2 day response time but I think it was like that due to some Chinese holidays around the time I had the issue.

      • +2

JD is the Chinese version Amazon. They are actually very good! (the real Amazon China actually sucks)

    • +5

I did a warranty return on a china phone. Took 3 long months.
Even factoring in the postage, buying a cheap replacement smartphone in the interim, and the hassle of chasing up geekbuying - it still was hundreds cheaper than than the cheapest local handset with similar specs.
And even with Apple, warranty isn't instant - you still have to sort out a return appointment etc.
shrug you get what you pay for.

      • Same with me. Bought the K3 Note from JD. Took 3 months for refund and countless email chasing up, but eventually got everything refunded, including postage and insurance as per their website.

    • +1

      Dear, this is max power.

  • +1

What about the bands? Does this support Optus bands? Can anyone post a link to bands

    • +3

It does. Testing an amaysim sim from last weeks $25 ebay voucher deal.

      Works perfectly, LTE too..

      • No band 28, so it doesn't offer full support for Optus 4G.

        • I'm not 100% sure if the OP's version is the same, but this version here lists 700mhz (B28)

          http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/astore/oneplus-one-64gb-…

        • lack of 700mhz is a bit sad Telstra and optus use 700mhz so. enter signal inside buildings. lack of band coverage is what has kept me looking at these Chinese phones. so looks like I will be using my 2 year old Samsung 5 for a while.

        • @f1ng3rs:
Pretty sure that's not going to be 700MHz Band 28
There's a bunch of different bands in the 700MHz range.

        • @scubacoles: Yep, the OPO has 700MHz band 17 support, which unfortunately isn't the same as band 28.

        • @f1ng3rs:

I have the Chinese version and it works perfect on Telstra(my daily for the past 1.5 years), Vodafone (tested a sim for 2 weeks last month), and now the Optus amaysym service.

        • @millzy: I just ordered one, I am with vodafone will 3g and 4g work good??
          thanks

  • +1

Currently own a 1+1, just purchased one as a Xmas gift from my old man.

    Thanks OP (Y) Great phone!

    • +1

Why is your old man getting rid of his 1+1?

    • Wow. Purchased in Time for xmas 2016. Just kidding. You should get it by Easter for sure.

  • This or the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3?

    • +1

Has a past Redmi Note 4G owner, I say avoid MIUI V6/7 at all costs. Xiaomi will destroyed MIUI after V5.

      • +4

Wow re-reading my post. Must of been tired, hardly makes sense.

    • +1

Redmi line are "budget" phones with good specs. OPO was a flagship. I'd say OPO. You will more likely get Android N on OPO because the development community is legendary, there is stable Android M ROMS already.

  • -4

redmi note has overtaken OPO as the chinese droid to have…. dont bother

  • +1

    Was keen-as, for months.

Finally chose OnePlusX for US$209, instead.

Not sure if/how this deal is SO much better (clicks/upvotes).
    I am tired, though.

  • +2

Postage from these guys seems ridiculous tho.. Up to 60 days free delivery and no option to pay extra for DHL express for example

    • Hmm, 60 days, isn't that the amount of time that can pass before you can't leave feedback or make a complaint to PayPal? I could be confused with eBay maybe

      • It's 180 days buyer's protection for Paypal now.

  • How long does it take to get here? Mid Jan?

    • -1

Yep, lucky if u get it JAN17

    • Comments in the review section say shipping is very fast. Im guessing just before new year/early jan.

      • What review section are you looking at?

        • Customer Feedback tab, at the bottom.

  • Paid about $480 for this phone a year ago. Has a slight discolouration (banding) on the bottom of the screen, but got over it pretty quick. Been a great phone.

  • Was about to pay $350 on Ebay..

    • if ur paying 350 isnt it better to get the huawei p8?

      • I didnt I ended up buying this one… Now I wonder how long delivery will be ….

      • P8 was in deal for $350 in Dick Smith but went out of stock online as well as in stores within a few hours, so no point considering that deal any more. They didn't have enough stock.

  • Dang wanting to sell mine. Guess I'll only make $250. Wonder if it's more valuable since mine has a cyanogen logo on the back?

    • +2

      no

  • this vs oppo r7 with cyanogenmod??
oppo is 14 dollars more at 299 but has much better specs tho

    • If you care about active development and choice of roms and kernels then opo makes more sense. Probably more longevity as well due to the number of developers involved with the opo. There is already a mostly stable android 6. Don't know about the r7.

  • +1

why can't i put order now? anyone has the same problem?

  • +1

    it keeps saying "IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
Sorry, the order can not be submitted, please try again later. If you need further help, please contact [email protected]."

  • yes same error since yesterday same message. I have left a message to the above email id. Let' see what they come back with.

    • Try using a different browser… I remember having same trouble whe I ordered off them a few months ago.

  • So what's the conclusion on the bands does it support all Optus bands?

  • -1

+1 for the 1+1, even if a little bit of time is needed to refresh the phone but at this price, its a steal. Damn, i paid $430+ for this (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻ ━┻

  • +1

    thanks OP. Bought one.

    • +1

How'd you get it to work?

Keeps coming up with an error message.

      • Same for me

        • It seems its not a browser issue but if you directly visit JD.com site and happy to cough out $299 its allowing you to go forward with the order…With this $199 link its not working :)

@borealis - Did you buy it for $199? thanks.

        • @kool082:
That's been the case since the original "deal".

  • How much is the newer model?

  • I'm looking at a Xiaomi Mi4C and this is quite comparable for a fair bit cheaper. Can anyone suggest if I should opt for the Mi4C still?

EDIT: This is 1/2 inch bigger than the Mi4C so too big for me. Damn it.

    • +1

Go with the OPX. It competes with Mi4C and I am willing to bet will receive updates that the Xiaomi wont. OPX dev community already has CM12.1 running and CM13 is in progress. Mi4C also has CM12.1 but its unofficial and there isn't as much dev drive on it as the OPX.

      • Hmmm just looked this phone up and it has SD Card!!
AND its cheaper than the Mi4c.
        Wow

  • This versus Oppo R7?

    • +1

This, if you can get one.
Having said that, Isn't the R7 back up to normal price?

  • good specs, very tempting, but doesn't have Band 5 850mhz Vodafone, therefore I'm out?

    • what do you mean??? I ordered one and i am with vodafone…. wont 3g or 4g work?

      • From my understanding 3g should be fine. vf is taking part of 3g 850mhz and turning it into 4g 850mhz so you won't be able to take advantage of this down the track. However you'll still be fine with 4g on 1800mhz.

        • +1

oh ok cool thanks… I think i should get this phone by 2017, still not shipped yet…

  • +1

Hi guys, after i go to the deal, I press buy now. After this it asks me to login or register.
Since I don't have an account I try to register but I'm stuck. After inputting my mobile number in, having my region set to Australia (+61),and pressing 'Send Code', I'm not receiving any codes. I've tried multiple times.

Can someone please help? I've also emailed JD support but who knows how long they will take to help me out. This deal looks so good and i'm sick of my Galaxy S4.

    • Probably out of stock anyway.
Even with an account I (and others) get an error at checkout.

    • +1

Replace the first two digits with 614?

    • Same issue for me

      • same issue. THIS IS STUPID its very hard to register.
