@rodericb: Yup. Not "any Indian uni", but "the good ones". And, also those who don't manage to enter the top unis in the US for whatever reasons (academic or personal). Come on, let's accept a fact that Aus is not an academic and research destination. It doesn't attract the top-tier students from any countries. The US does it and a part of Europe does it. I guess it's a widely known fact. Right?

This deal hasn't been negged. Don't know what you're talking about

    • actually, Its not weird… its normal oz-bargain behavior! They forget they here to find bargain, not to complain without enough knowledge.

its not about the place or country… it is about your spirit.

I found India to be an amazing place.

I used a travel agent to book cars, guides and trains and it made the whole thing really easy.

I recommend Nikhil Pandit at TGS who charges a flat rate on top of the list price to book each ticket/sector, so you know you aren't getting ripped off. You'll find plenty of good reviews for them online e.g. at TripAdvisor. Their website is probably still rubbish, but we booked everything over email anyway.

No deals for Mumbai or Ahmedabad or Delhi flights for which they will get the maximum passengers from Australia! No nearby cities covered - not even any within in 300 km radius.

    • +1

Never seen any deals from Brisbane to Mumbai.
Mumbai is always ignored in the deals.

  • -2

Do I have the option to book FLATBEDS in airasia when using this website? Could someone please help..

    • +3

      Oh my…

    • Yup. But, for that you probably need to buy an extra voucher at the counter, just like food and luggage. It's not included in the standard package. You can go for a standard seat now. ;-)

Why no one way flights to India?
I would honestly love to see that.

    • Too busy offering one way flights from the middle east to Sydney. Oh snap!

      Humor do gooders, humor.

    • -1

because once someone is allowed to leave there they never return….. wonder why that is lol

  • Or there's a few flights directly booked through AirAsia for $420 from Sydney, I guess it's all about the research however I do appreciate the good deals. I am someone who travels based on price as I like to explore and am very easy going…so Kochi is an idea however I have friends in Mumbai that I'd like to visit so I guess I'll have to see what flights are available from COK to BOM.

Seems like beating around the bush. From Wikipedia about Kerala(Cochin):

As of 2014, Kerala has a Human Development Index (HDI) of 0.790[3] which comes under the "high" category and it is the highest in the country and a consumption-based HDI of 0.920, which is better than that of many "developed countries".

Sounds like a "winner" Emigating there next?
Flights right on this page :)

I have been to India quite a few times and I still don't see government fed junkies and drug addicts there like many countries, which I love. People, though some poor, do their best to earn their own bread.

Welcome to Internet. Trolls are everywhere, including on OzBargain.

      • -3

You can tell yourself that, if you like but have you not noticed:
Japan -so many positive and enthusiastic comments
Vietnam -so many positive and enthusiastic comments
Thailand -so many positive and enthusiastic comments
New Zealand -so many positive and enthusiastic comments
USA -so many positive and enthusiastic comments
No "trolls" for these places or is something different?
I don't think its that India is a seething, corrupt, lice-infested armpit, I think people know that. I see it as more of a reaction to the millions of self-important, uninvited, scamming, visa cheating, qualifications-faking guests at our party.
You have your own commonwealth country, please stay there.

        • Fair enough. In my experience no other country offers a unique experience as India for a traveller.

        • No "trolls" for these places or is something different?

None of the places you mention have people with brown skin.

        • @ms:

Doesn't Barack Obama have brown skin?

        • @strangeloops66:

Black is the word you are looking for.

        • -1

          @ms:
Fiji, Tahiti, Vanuatu, even New Guinea- so many positive and enthusiastic comments.
Please don't get side tracked by skin colour its not the point at all.

bargain! might be time to visit the best exotic marigold hotel

  • A lot of ppl here seem to forgetting India is a third world country, might need to remember that before envisioning Taj Mahals and Marigold Hotels on your holiday.

  • +2

Make sure you get all your vaccinations and malaria tablets. Lots of diseases going around india at the moment becuse of the devastating chennai floods. Its not a matter of if you will get sick, rther a matter of when. I also recommend walking around with a face mask, the stench and pollution is out of this world. Good luck.

    • I returned from Chennai last weekend. I didn't really see too many sick people there. In fact, I had a few business meetings and everyone I met was fit and sound. When such events take place, some people fall sick but it's a very small percentage of the total population. If you think that you will fall in that, then sure, you should take more precautions else normal precautions are enough.

  • I'd love to travel to India in August/september. 3 weeks

Is there any flights from Mel to Delhi around that time with this promotion?

  • the sad part is MOD's are not stepping into stop these LOW LIFE TROLLS. the site is about bargains not for keyboard warriors to hide behind the internet and make racist comments. I HOPE SCOTT can step in and stop this.

Great deals! Thanks OP for posting.

I've been an Ozbargain fan for quite a while and I must say that whenever a deal is there for India, some people start negging and they seem to forget many good things about India. They perhaps have their brains and eyes closed that they do not want to think outside of box and stick to some baseless opinions. Let's not forget that India is the biggest democracy in the world, the world's most expensive home is located in India, It has 4th highest number of billionaires in world, world's richest person was from India at some stage and it is world's one of the fastest growing countries.

I've been to India few times and never had bad experiences. Yes, you won't expect the same level of cleanliness and people's mentality is little different to western countries, but that's what makes India different from the rest of the world. It has its own culture and traditions that people generally visit India to explore. I think those people who're negging have probably never been to an Asian country or are just jealous of people from India in one way or other. And I know that on the other side, the same people may be eagerly waiting for deals on Bhuja Mix (originated in India) that goes perfect with beer! :-)

Hope that we won't see such comments in future and this site will remain purely a bargain site rather than racist forums.
