          @paulied84:
          Thanks me too!

        • me too

  • is the card fee still $0?

    • +1

It's free to get using the code provided.

Thanks OP, applied last night and just received confirmation of the order now.

Are these cards suitable if I were to say sign up to an… ahem… educational website… that charges '$1 for the first month, then $19.95 per month, but you can easily cancel at any time!' (but you really can't cancel it)??

    • It would appear so, however recharging it for further use may be a problem as there would be debits attempted on it. I'd like to know this also, like if there's any legalise fine print that obliges them to charge the original funding credit card for debt relating to contract subscriptions made using the reloadable prepaid card.

can I charge a pre-paid card and use it to charge another card and keep looping to earn Flybuy points?

  • For those that received 2000 points ..did u receive an email about itstraight after signing up for the cars or a while later ?

  • +2

So I actually payed $20 for this card last week. (Will get $10 on my next shop and $10 on the card)
I got it in the mail today and it expires in 2018.

  • OK a bit confused after reading through this thread. I understand using the code will waive the $10 sign up fee. I also have a paper voucher for 1000 points if I sign up online. Not sure how to use this online, enter the barcode number? Have people been getting larger bonus points offers after they signed up? Or should I just go with the 1000. Advice appreciated!

  • One more question. I'll probably just use this for Coles shops. Will the points earned for using the card stack with the usual other points offers? I'm assuming yes…

    • +1

      Yes
When you purchase it, it asks for your flybuys number. CC also comes with your flybuys barcode at the back so you only have to carry one card

  • +1

Haha gave this a go, payment failed, apparently they don't accept Coles credit MCs as a payment method. Funny that.

  • Very Very Very Very Poor customer Service.

I received email for bonus 1000 points ($5 Flybuys Dollars) and bought one for $10.

Saw this post after, called them within ~10 mins after I made the transaction to cancel it, the staff said he will put a note to the CARD TEAM and stop the purchase.

Called again this morning and the staff today said it's too late. They've already sent out the card straight after the payment received which is impossible. Asked to speak with manager and couldn't reach the whole day.

Now ask me to wait until next Monday :(

    • +1

That probably equates to "poor customer service". The very very very very is probably a little bit exaggerated.

These systems run on automated processes and it is actually quite hard to reverse once the order is submitted.

My only advice is to relax. If they resolve it then hats off to them. It was your mistake after all.

2000 FLybuys points (Targeted Offer) or $10 Discount as your first shop using the card at coles

did anyone see this in Coles/Sourcecard website?

What's mentioned here is what you would normally get with Flybuys points you accumulate(nothing specific to this particular deal)

Save $10 off your shop instantly at the checkout
Simply redeem 2,000 flybuys points at the checkout to instantly take $10 off your Coles Supermarket shop2

And also wondering if its open to existing sourcecard customers..They usually don't allow more than one credit card.

    • I can't see that anywhere either

      • Yeah, 2000 flybuy points is a targeted deal (as OP said) so this is not for everyone. BTW check in your flybuy's account.. I just noticed I have this offered.

  • Any idea if the same Flybuys account can be linked to multiple cards?

    • +1

      Yes
      As many cards you want

  • got mine today. waiting for the second one

    thanks op

  • Got mine delivered today

  • Awaiting delivery. Ordered one (Syd)

  • I everyone getting this prepaid card just because of the $10 bonus? If not for this, is there any benefit? You can easily get a debit mastercard from one of the banks.

    • +1

I think it will be useful, when the merchant does not accept paypal, and one is reluctant to use a credit card due to fraud concerns.

    • There's bit of hangover of community goodwill from the 7 11 uncharged coffee /waters replaced by current Free optus Sim card. Port Out to + then activate 50% off BYO VF&T predated accounts, transferring mob number.

Every now and then a trial subn comes up and warrant a throwaway debitcard
keen ozb folks use a couple in order to test out promo's past preauth.
      _
One or two report scoring a $10 of shopping discount. For most it will amount to self funded negligible net benefit. My $10 offer expired (in September) as many others did last year.

    • I like using prepaid cards for subscriptions, I always forget to cancel when I don't use them anymore and providers let you know when there is a billing problem, so when I want the service to keep going I just add a new prepaid card.

  • right, so I have to buy this credit card via another credit card. That's useful :p

  • When you set this up, can you set it up with a US address so that you can buy stuff in America that only want a US credit card?

    • The US, UK and Canada have a system called AVS that can match a credit card with address. They can also tell from the BIN which bank issued the card.

  • You've got 16 months to use your prepaid credit before it expires. The sample card shown expiry date is 6/17.

the perfect card for anonymity when shopping and dont need to worry about shoddy merchants

  • There is a setting within the card login: Turn your card ON or OFF.

Is this related to the description here: https://financialservices.coles.com.au/credit-cards/access-y…

Turn your Coles Pay Tag on or off

Or is it something entirely different?
    Does it mean:

    • turn on/off the paywave functionality? Or
    • turn the card on/off for any transactions?
    • something else?

    Many thanks in advance.

    • +1

Turns off all POS transactions including contactless, insert and swipe

  • Is this a MASTER "Debit" CARD? I need to buy something which only Master Debit has no surcharge, can l use this as a master debit card?

  • I want to use it, but with all my out-of-the-box thoughts, I can't think of when I'd actually use it - Repeatedly. Gift cards kill the potential use, for me.

  • Does anyone get cash advance interest charge from your credit card? I got $0.98 charge and called me credit card provider to find out why and they told me that the transaction with Coles Finance service was treated as cash advance trans.

    • Who is your credit card provider? Mine is Westpac and I was not charged.

      • Bankwest master card

        • If u used a credit card, you may get charged

If u using a Debit card, it is FREE

Did anyone know anywhere to cash-out the money?

I loaded money on it and couldnt find anywhere to Free Cashout? QantasMasterCard is FREE everywhere but this card needs $3 for Cashout

    • Nearby Coles?

    • +3

I just called their rep and he told me that I can withdraw the money at any Coles ATMs without any fees.

    • +1

It's not publicised but Westpac ATMs work without a fee - confirmed. Their reps don't seem to know that themselves.

      • Really! thanks. I don't have to go around to find the Coles ATM anymore. Will try Westpac tomorrow.

        • How'd you go, does Westpac charge any fees for withdrawals?

        • +3

@Obey: I have withdrawn multiple times without fees in the last week at Westpac ATMs. You can give it a try yourself, because any ATM fee would be advised and you given a chance to cancel the transaction.

        • +2

          @Obey:

Yes there was no ATM fee.

  • much better than load and go card which charges you 9c for each transaction, capped at 10 per month.

  • Anyone try to top up with credit card and withdraw the cash out like cash advance?Any fee on it?

    • you cannot top up with a credit card.

    • If you were able to top up from a credit card (which I highly doubt), you would face cash advance fees from your credit card provider so may as well use the credit card directly unless you're looking for a level of isolation between the source of the cash and the transactional device.

  • I tried to top up with Bankwest MasterCard without any success. Has anyone tried to top up using other company's MasterCard?

    • Bankwest hates this card, you have to call them to lift the restriction in order to top up money onto this card.

    • Bankwest taking a stand that others would probably like to take.

Reference in previous statements to 'fraud concerns' as the reason, but likely more perturbed by the prospect of much cycling of funds on to the card for reason of the bonus Flybuys on offer.

Ease of turning the card on and off, the lure for me. Previously used another card (with hassle of specific funds attached) for AliExpress purchases. Still a bit wary of the AliPay portal, despite no issues.

  • Cant belive ive missed out on this deal, had a 2k bonus flybus offer - could be stackable.

  • What the benefit by using this card compared by using Credit Card???

    • May be anonymity?

  • +4

The whole point of getting this card for me was to avoid fees while paying for Tigerair flights. But I go to book and this error pops up:

The card number indicates that this is not an Australian issued Debit Mastercard, as a result it will be processed as a regular Credit Mastercard and the regular charges $17.00 will apply.

Edit: Just spoke to a CSR in Manila and he says that coles reloadable cards now don't count as normal debit mastercards and thus all fees apply. Not happy Jan.

I already loaded an extra $50 on the stupid card. I guess I will save it to use a strip club or something hahaha.
