Microsoft has just increased the education discount on Surface products from 10% to 15% off. Applies to the Surface Book (which starts from $1,954.15) as well as accessories. Don't forget to use Cashrewards for an additional 4% off :). Off course this is only for students and faculty but 15% off is 15% off.

For anyone that has recently purchased and has gone through or a submitted a claim (to claim the difference), do they require you to go in-store and bring the card you paid with and issue that as a refund? Or do they just ask you for bank details and send it as a credit?
Just got an email from JB hifi today. They've adjusted their education prices to be 15% off by the looks of it.
The microsoft online store has been out of all i7 SP4 for about two weeks now and none of the useless people I called/chatted with seems to know when it will be back. I was hoping to buy through them rather than JB in order to take advantage of the cash-rewards 4% bonus which could be about $150. Does anyone have any experience with how long they are typically out of stock for?
They came back in stock 2 weeks ago and disappeared a few days later. A lot of businesses are bulk ordering these from the MS store. The large bank next door bought 50 of them. lol
Your best bet would be going to the MS Store in Sydney or just buying it from a retailer. The cashback can take a long time to be credited to your account and it's not worth waiting imo.
Thanks, I thought it might be due to business orders. Unfortunately there's no MS store in Melbourne so I cant go there directly. It also seems that warranty claims are easier if buying from JB as they often just replace on the spot, compared to posting to MS. I might forgo the cashback then and save some hassle. Thanks for the advice

Secondly, what category and subsequent CasRrewards discount does Microsft Complete quality for?
Just bought one from MS Store in Sydney. Said it was for my daughter ( it actually is ). No ID just gave me a 15% discount on the lot. SP4 + Essentials bundle.
