Does Getflix confirm to work after the VPN and proxy lockdown by Netflix?

    • was legit about to type the same thing - probs a deal so they can make all the sales before going under :P

I'm pretty sure every video service that has ever promised to crack down on geo-dodgers is still working through Getfix. Hulu was pretty aggressive a couple of years ago but has since given up by the looks of it. When you think about it, Netflix, Hulu, et al, don't really care too much about this. They're still getting paid. They just have to appear to be doing something about it to appease the content owners.

        • You've got a solid point - and I agree!

Still working fine for me, good price

    • +1

I haven't had any issues through my Apple TV for Netflix or Hulu yet for Getflix.

    • Still working for me. I think Netflix just made an empty announcement to ease the minds of the movie/show companies.

I've had to change my netflix region a few times, as I have had a few issues, VPN works fine though without any dramas.

  • Didnt Netflix block this?

    • +3

      Nope. Still going strong.

      • Well, yes… They did block it.
But GetFlix has been very proactive, and was up & running fast, after several hurdles.

        • They were that fast I never even realised!

        • @Dagmar: Didn't get any of their emails, either?

        • @Utopian:

Nope. Were there emails sent out about it?

    • +1

They can't block it. Each time they block it Getflix just changes it servers. Usually by the time you notice it's down, there is already a new DNS server to switch to. Bit of a pain as I've been mid-movie and had to change, but it's only happened twice.

The only way that Netflix/Hulu etc will stop the majority of people getting around it, will be when they lock the region you can view/your account to the region of your credit card. It's really really hard to get a credit card without being a resident of the country ;) ie. netflix aren't serious about trying to stop it, they're just trying to keep the studios happy.

The reason they don't do this is they don't want to prevent you using their service while travelling. Many people would prefer to use Netflix in international hotels than watch the in-house entertainment.

      • +1

No they can & did block it.
It's a bit of a whack-a-mole. There's not many IPv4 addresses left in the US/world & it's not hard for Netflix to keep whacking them.

I suspect the Netflix efforts have stopped for another 12mths. They got their PR and showed the content owners they're doing something

        • +1

No they can & did block it.

Correct I misspoke. They did block individual addresses, what I meant was they won't be able to block people permanently using this method.

      • Never say never.
"dodgy box" owners have ridden those rollercoasters for years, all over the world.
It's often a game of chicken… Arms race… technology, difficulty, level of investment.

I switched between US, France & Aussie Netflix last night with no issues.

I paid a little bit more than this ~US$33 for a lifetime plan

  • Haven't had any issues with overseas Netflix through Getflix. They were offering lifetime subscriptions late last year for about $46 through stacksocial.

Can confirm that Getflix still works as of now.

I can't speak to the future (nobody knows what, if anything, Netflix will change in the next 2 years), but they circumvented Netflix's latest unblocker/VPN checks pretty much as soon as they went into effect.

Great service, don't need to renew just yet.

Maybe in a few days though!

Maybe just set a reminder alert in your phone. Don't want Netflix cutting out while you're watching cartoons with your grandkids.

I would get it soon if you want to pay by Paypal as they (Paypal) stopped their service with Unotelly today and now you need to pay by cc if you want Unotelly,Getflix could be next.

Or you can use DNS4ME use the whirlpool coupon lovewp and it's $au22/yr
    https://dns4me.net
    See WP thread https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2472794

Netflix haven't targeted them (unlike Getflix, which is still having issues for some regions).
Plus they have more features, such as being able to download a host/routing file so you don't even have to use their DNS servers (more secure & doesn't blokc your quota free content). They also have logging & a make you own routes, so you can manually setup your own proxy for certian sites. Livestream NRL worked last two seasons (I see Getflix now has this) & they added WillowTV (Cricket - via browser) as a request for me last year.

more importantly they're aussie based (Getflix sold out to OS interests back in 2014).

  • I took advantage of this freebie:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/229530

and so far that's been great. No issues. Will keep dns4me for smart tv/wd box/ipad etc. but watching more through pc hooked up to the TV

  • Received the email too and went for the one year sub. Used them for the last year with no problems - hopefully it stays that way!

  • I'm using uflix and netflix has stopped working tonight, for everyone. Netflix says "you seem to be using an unblocker" and you can't get in.

Thank but the deal doesn't work for everyone.
I tried the code with new and existing code and it comes up with 24 months - USD $47.40

  • 24 months - Aud 29.40(50% discount) for me.
