The All-in-One has NO Hard Drive.

They want you to use their 1 TB Cloud (free how long, before you must pay to use it?!!?)

  • "Hello Ozbargainer - Need any advice, talk to a expert now."

      Huh?

      • +3

HN chat support can see what site you come from. They start with that intro so you know they know you are hoping to play the system any way you can. Saves you pretending you are a normal naive customer.

        • -2

Huh? Do you mean skazclaw is a HN chat support staff?

        • @edfoo:
No, as cymon mentioned, the chat system on the HN website knows whether you're redirected from OZB or not.

        • +1

@clse945111: Oh I see. So if I click on that above link and redirected to HN website, the chat support system will know I am redirected from OB site.

        • Isnt it more about recognising which site you come from to give you a pleasant greeting / better user experience and payperclick revenue for ozbargain? Doubt every HN keyboard jockey would know of ozbargain

        • @pointless comment: it's a well known fact they have professionals visiting their site
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89421

  • Is that the same Asus as in this deal?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/229768

Price is pretty good but that screen res …

    • Hmm not too sure act I think it is
      Edit: Seems to be same

      • Just went to JB. Have this model for $999. Didn't bother to ask for best price.

  • HP Pavilion x2 10-n103tu 10.1" 2-in-1 Intel Laptop $284 (After $25 Off) - Was $387

This has hit the new low price.
I hope this is the new x2?

    • Can anyone confirm is this the new X2? if my budget is $400, is this the best option for Detachable 2in1 notebook? thanks

      • this is not a bad option … has 64GB mmc and USB type c port
        http://www.harveynorman.com.au/computers-tablets/computers/l…

        • hmm, turns out HP has usb type c port too!
and comes with a usb tye c charger

so 32GB mmc is the only gimping factor in this one … maybe why its on special
          great price anyways

detailed specs in this user guide
          http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04701754

        • @ozblogger:

This is crazy cheap….Was like $450 before.

32gb mmc isn't a deal breaker, just put a 64/128 microsd card in it.

      • I was using my parents one the other night and the touchpad is pretty horrible. Plus the touchpad keeps disabling itself randomly (e.g. when the screen is removed, or it goes to sleep, or if you look at it funny) and you have to go into control panel / mouse to re-enable it if you want to use it. So maybe read some reviews on them vs others in the price range to see if other people have experienced this before taking the plunge?

    • should be the new oe since it has cherry trail z8300 atom processor
      Gigabit ethernet !! wow

  • There are some pretty good deals there. Watch out for the Celeron processors though, they are slow as hell.

I'd recommend the ASUS, as it runs a 6th gen Core i5 instead of the 4th gen in the HP.

  • Is the Asus F555UJ-XO044T RAM upgradable to an 8GB stick, and is it a single DIMM slot or is it dual? Thanks in advance.

    • Yeah, it's upgradable. You can get a 8GB single ram stick for about $50 these days.

      • +1

So it's a single ram slot? I just ask because I have quite a few 4GB sticks lying around that should probably be repurposed or sold.

        • +1

The asus ram is not upgradable
I bought one and its soldered on
          Im buggered
          it says
          DDR3L 4G (on bd.)

  • The HP 15-AC184TX is tempting… Has anyone had any experience with it?

EDIT: It has a 1366 x 768 screen res which is not what I'm after. In spite of that, it's still a great price.

  • +6

there should be a rule that no laptops with 1366x768 resolutions are allowed to be posted on OzB, for the sake of other ozbargainers that dont understand. its a funny world when theres more phones that have a higher resolution than that, and are cheaper :|

    • +1

If your eyesight is terrible 1366 is probably better than scaling a higher dpi screen. It's not so much the dpi, it's the quality of the display panels. I have old 1280? laptops that are far higher qualilty than the current crap.

      • That is a problem with windows didn't scale it properly to fit the resolution. See how IOS and Andriod handle it, no matter what resolution the fonts and icons are the same size.

If they can scale it properly higher resolution always better.

    • +2

Well there go 90% of all laptops then

  • OW price match on HP 2 in 1. Brings the price down to $278.1 Good deal.

    • +1

Rubbish! price match $309 then 5% off which is $293.55

      • Thanks!! I thought it was 10%. Still better if you can't apply the promotional code.

  • Discounted items not allowed to use $25 voucher

      • Just did that success after 7 tries. Never tried so hard to throw money. Always a first time

Great post once again Trent, thanks.

  • Pretty good price on Logitech Orion Spark G910 keyboard if you factor in $25 off:
    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/computers-tablets/computer-ac…

  • Lenovo 100s red is $1 cheaper.

    • A better laptop than the Stream 11 IMHO, EXCEPT that the touchpad doesn't support multi-touch. That was a deal breaker and so I bought the HP for my wife and it's been great so far.

      • I got Lenovo 100s for $203 on Christmas and I am very happy with it.
Lack of multi touch was annoying but than you get used to page up and down buttons which are positioned very well.

Only touch pad and poor display quality need to be fixed for this guy.

  • Surface and HP x360 spectre excluded… :(

  • any 1080p resolution laptops on sale?

  • -1

Anyone know what's the processor speed with the HP laptop that costs $553?

  • I like this Lenovo Ideapad 300, $692 with an i7-6500. Poor screen res (HN spec incorrect at Full HD but JB-Hifi and Lenovo says 1366) but for an HTPC that won't matter.

Cheaper than a NUC. Has Intel 520 (GT2) graphics and no dedicated RAM but has onboard decoding of H.265

    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/lenovo-300-15-laptop.html

    • Lenovo Ideapad 300, $692- Spec. looks good with i7-6th generation. if ram is upgradable then powerful laptop :)

  • Thanks heaps OP. After researching the hell out of sub $300 laptops last week I purchased a HP Stream 11 for my wife on Monday for $297 from HN. So back I go this arvo to price match and get $56 back! A great little laptop and now an even better price.

  • Great deals on budget and budget to mid-range laptops here. Wish they had some higher specced i7s with hybrid/SSDs on special for $900-$1000. Can't complain about these prices + brand new not refurb. Will keep hoping for some decent deals on i7 quad-cores in the near future. At the moment I can't justify spending triple my money on something with a better processor and small SSD drive (especially after seeing these deals). The ASUS is my pick (and I have some spare DDR3 RAM laying around so am thinking about just buying it to use as a PC inserting the RAM then selling it after a few months for $300-400). Sorry for a n00b question but is it easy to add RAM to it (easy access slot) and does it void the warranty?

  • That mint colour ruined the deal for HP 2 in 1 convertible. Really tempted to buy this, but need another colour.

    • Peppermint can be like that

  • Nice deal for a laptop, but I was wondering why don't we see deals for 14" screen laptops that often? 15.3" is too big screen for me.

  • whats the native resolution on the laptop

  • I am thinking about grabbing the all in one, currently have 2 reasonable laptops 13.3 & 14 inch, this would mainly be used for my 8 year olds homework as well as providing a bigger screen to be able type up uni assignments on, I predominately use one drive now for saving things but also have a NAS so don't think that lack of a hard drive should be to big of an issue and have just had an old Intel Celeron lappy die and it's performance was fine for homework etc but wondering what downfalls I am missing.

  • Hey, anyone have any experience on the steering wheels?

    • Click the amazon reviews on the product above, that will give you some user experiences :)

      • u r a legend m8..thanks :)

    • +2

For the price you won't find anything better, the thrustmaster t150 is better but costs more, and the thrustmaster t300 is even better again but costs even more, although both thrustmaster products have inferior pedals to the logitech, but much better wheel servo, providing a smooth steering experience, while the logitech's make grinding noises and even loud pop/crack noises in certain situations. Bottom line is there is no obvious best choice given the price differences, the thrustmaster t300 plus the thrustmaster t3pa pro pedals are hands down the best at their price point, but will set you back $750 together, so on a budget the logitech is really the only option, and the logitech does have great pedals which the thrustmaster can only rival with a $200 upgrade, but the thrustmaster setup is worth it if you value realistic smooth steering, the logitech steering doesn't feel anywhere close to real, it simply gets the job done but looks nice at least.

  • Did anyone think to go to officeworks to price beat? I went to go price beat a logitech mouse :-)

  • The asus ram is not upgradable f555u
I bought one and its soldered on
    Im buggered
    it says
    DDR3L 4G (on bd.)

    • Thanks for the feedback. That sucks!

  • Anyone else have trouble purchasing while logged in to their HN account?
I spoke to live chat support and they advised I should log out and try, which I did, but that meant the $25 discount couldn't be applied. Bleh. So I purchased anyhow because the live chat support told me out world be refunded later, but that didn't seem right… Then I got an email about 9hrs later saying my order has not been accepted.

    TAKE MY MONEY!!!
