    • +5

Yes, it's mentioned in the post.

  • Any for normal S6?

    • +1

Jbhifi has the standard s6 for $738

      • Jb had it for $600 2 weeks back with trade in and email crouton.

        • It was the edge and i am typing on one now that I bought from there

        • +1

          @holden93:

Me too typing on the one I bought from jb $600 is the best best best deal ever for s6 edge thank gawd for email croutons!

        • @paloverde88: what does croutons have to do with the coupon? lol

Bare in mind that the Mobile World Congress starts in 2 weeks today, with new Samsung, LG, and Xiaomi all announcing new phones, which are expected to be released by early-mid March.

With that, prices of phones like the S6 Edge are likely to come down in price further in the next month as retailers look to clear their stock.

Unless you really want this phone and have to have it in the next 2 weeks, I'd not recommend this deal.

    • Top tip, thanks for reminding me. I've been keen on a Redmi Note 3 Pro for awhile now, and the Chinese New Year has made me wait it out a little longer before pulling the trigger. The timing of any new phone announcements (including I guess the Mi5?) in two weeks is just about perfect.

Thats what i'm doing. Waiting for the new models to be released. Some that have already been announced and available elsewhere.

Might be the cheapest now but certainly been way cheaper.

      • +19

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/229916 - $598 after trading in an old phone.

        • +5

yeah. i was going to say the same. strange TA didnt know that. the post has many + :)

        • +6

@eisniwre: All TA posts get high ++ for the great contribution he did/does to this site. I used to trust all his "deals" as bargains, but now I started looking a bit deeper. If anyone else posted this post I doubt it wouldav made it to the front.

Thanks TA BTW for all your great work.

        • +3

          Yeah very interesting

        • +4

          Commission ???

        • -3

          @MR ROBOT:

We don't pay anyone here commission to post or vote.

If you do find any better deal please share or post it ;)

  • +2

If you're thinking about getting this for the GearVR would highly recommend the 64gb. Once you start installing a couple of apps or videos designed for it you burn through that space FAST

  • +3

Why do there seem to be so many deals posted for the S6 edge version compared to the normal S6?

    • +2

Probably because they didn't sell too many of the edge versions compared to the normal S6 and want to clear the stock before of the arrival of the S7.

    • +2

Yeah I wanted to get a bigger MB S6 for my Mrs but had to settle with a smaller MB edge because S6 is just hardly on special. I have the edge and it's not worth the extra $$$.

    • +2

Edge is a gimmick, in many people's eyes.

      • yeah i have an edge and disabled it immediately. total gimmick. unfortunately my old phone broke so i wasn't able to wait for an s7. still p happy with the s6.

should be a real good price on these in 12 weeks or so!

  • +4

Galaxy S7 is being revealed on February 21st (barcelona time).

Don't buy this now. It will drop in price like every other Galaxy phone that gets superseded.

    • +23

      Hi cDNA

if price drop below today's price by end of this month, u can contact us or come back to the store, we will credit u the different or fully refund, refer to this conversation.

      • -5

How about extend your price guarantee until s7 officialy launched here in Australia?

      • If your price drops? or competitors price drop?

and full refund/return on a brand new un-opened box I'm assuming?

  • +1

Beautiful phone, but still waiting for it to become cheaper…

    • Not long to go.

  • I need a non-edge S6. Blue.
I would have gone for the Green in S6E but the reviews make it sound difficult to hold.

  • +1

    as mentioned above,
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/229916
    $598
and if you picked green, you (if lucky) will get gear VR too!
i sold my gear VR for $150 on ebay and also will claim TRS from $598, my final damage will be $395!
steal! almost half from this post :D

    • "and if you picked green, you (if lucky) will get gear VR too!"
Please explain? Where do you get the VR?

      • +1

It was part of a bundle with the S6 edge green. It was a promotion bundle from last year. If the store you went to happen to have left over stock that include the VR bundle you get it for free. If not you wont get it hence if lucky.

      • The S6 Edge Green 32gb at JB Hifi came bundled with a Gear VR (plastic shrink wrapped).

        • on the original thread of that deal, i saw one person bought green but no luck with the gear VR as his JBHIFI doesnt have any more stock of VR. hence lucky… not always… depend on VR stock..

        • +1

          Hi hypie

I am try to search "S6 edge" on JB website, I can't see any 32GB or 128GB, 64GB available at $1098.
          https://www.jbhifi.com.au/Search/results/?keywords=s6%20edge

        • @mobileciti:

JB Hi-Fi definitely carry the S6 Edge 32gb, and 64gb. AFAIK no 128gb.

And there are plenty of stores who still have the green with the bonus VR Headset.

        • +1

          @hypie:
          Not in Brisbane there's not.

        • +1

@mobileciti: yeah all or maybe most of the edge has been snapped by us during that $598 deal. no surprising i believe you will be happy to buy from jbhifi too at that price and resell :D
many people buy multiple and sell on ebay and therefore crash the price.

    • +4

I bought 2 Green phones both with Googles. Sold both Googles on eBay for $190 each. Sold the other Phone for $700 (unopened) on Gumtree.

Factoring in eBay fees etc, phone cost me $196

    • what about the phone you had to give them?

      • +2

Had an old phone laying around. The second phone unused was actually free. Went to Woolworths and bought a prepaid that scanned higher than the marked price so got it for free.

Truth be told I ended up selling the second S6 after a couple of weeks. So in total made around $497 profit of the JB deal.

    • +1

But that jbhf deal is over right??

    • +1

Why do people keep talking about the JB Hifi deal? Its finished! Yes it was a good deal. Yes we probably wont see anything like it for a while. Yes prices might come down with new model announced soon. Yes it sucks missing out on it this one but we can't turn back time. Time to move on and look for the next best deal.

  • +3

    patiently waiting for S6 deal….

  • +3

Patiently waiting for Note 5 deal…..

  • Any chance you'll be stocking the s6 edge plus?

  • +2

    Patiently waiting for HL3

    • I'd forgotten about this…thanks for reminding me :(

Unique Mobiles seems to be selling the 128GB version for $836, (plus an extra $20 for shipping). Is this the same phone? Only thing is that at Unique Mobiles it's a backorder because they currently have no stock

    • UM mentioned "Direct Ship From Blue Rabbit HK" ??

      • I'm not familiar with either websites. So what you're saying is that mobileciti are sold from their stores in Australia, whereas Uniquemobiles sell phones shipped from HK?

        • Yes

        • Hi dinersty

all our stock are 100% Australian stock, with 2 years samsung warranty.

UM did mention this product was located in HK. I am not sure about other product you may want to read the description or contact me to double check.

        • +1

@mobileciti: That's a good point you made, because the phone under Unique Mobiles does not have manufacturer's warranty, only a local 12 month voluntary warranty from the seller. Thanks for the clarification!

        • +1

@dinersty: fyi, UM is grey importer, MC is local seller. yes the name is confusing!

        • Unique are grey imports no Samsung warranty, Mobile Citi are Aust models with full Samsung warranty.

  • We have both of these in the house and they both are great. I recommend getting 128GB version if you are meaning to do everything you can with this powerhouse!

  • Must resist, will wait for S7 + 20% Ebay deal before May.

  • Does anyone know if Officeworks will beat this price with 5%?

  • Samsung = No updates
My note 2 had one software update in 3 years
Updated to a nexus and there's an android update every month just abouts.
Never will I buy another Samsung phone again

    • What sort of updates are these? What are you getting/changing every month?
      I've LG G4.

    • -4

You are right about the update. But then again, why are you using the same phone for 3 years?!

      • Note 2 is still a decent phone.

    • yep, they are pretty poor with updates.

    • I can understand if there's a bug that you're waiting to be fixed but otherwise I don't care whether I get updates or not as long as my phone is working perfectly.

  • Waiting for 6p to be on sale again.
