So 10% off is actually better than nothing, isn't ?

      • -2

        WHat?
        Don't go offtopic ya bum

        • When you said something in the original post, was that on topic.

        • @OzSikhs:

          Yes. Can't read?

      • he already has on and he paid more for it… his not happy about it.. he never said anything is wrong with 10% off hahaha just makes him sad that it costs less… !the heck!

        • -4

He did say in the original post of 10% off that it's not a deal.

          @OzSikhs:

No, I didn't. Read it again you yuppy. Boy you sure like to hold grudges. If you want to argue, post in the original thread where I made the comment. Don't follow me around like a psychotic ex-girlfriend.

    • There's also a 64GB storage version for [10% Less than] ~$366.00

      $329.40

(Hedge: This is the Intel version, in a prev. Zenfone
there was a [faster?] non-Intel version, that cost more,
      presumably for a reason…

      Comments?

  • This or Mi4i?

    • This for me. Mi4 is bit outdated at the moment compared to zenfone 2.

      • Why do you say so… in detail…?

  • This or redmi note 3?

    • +1

I am researching the 2 as well.

Redmi Note 3 has bigger battery, thinner and cheaper.

Asus has more ram, microsd support.

      Decisions decisions…

      • Following for advice… in the same boat. Camera is the most important for the missus - which camera is better, they are both 13MP

        • +2

I am sort of leaning towards the Redmi because it looks more elegant to me, and I especially love the larger battery capacity (3000mAh in Asus vs 4000 mAh in Redmi).

I think 3gb is more than enough, but 32gb with no expandable memory is a bit of a downer..

        • +1

LG G4 if camera is important

        • +2

@amts: Can't compare G4 with zenfone 2 or xiaomi note 3. G4 is expensive phone.

        • @pyramid: yes but just in case the camera is really important, then the G4 is hard to beat. Would be nice if QD also lowered the price on the G4.

        • @mg_k: Get the Remi Note 3 Pro, it has SD expansion through the second SIM slot. I'm deciding between the pro and this asus at the moment.

        • @WeiKaiLe: The Remi Note 3 Pro isn't at the same pricepoint as the Asus.

Think I will go with the Asus….I like the design and look of the Redmi more, but although it has a larger battery it doesn't support any fast charge whereas the Asus does.

The Asus is also better specs for merely $30 more.

        • @mg_k:
Presale but still $300 (not including shipping):

        • @WeiKaiLe:

          Thanks for the link.

As I said before I like the look and finishing of the Redmi, but this Zenfone has more RAM and although the battery capacity is smaller it supports fast charge.

Don't forgot Asus Zenfone 2 already has confirmed it's planed to upgrade to android 6.0 ('Doze' feature will improve your battery life)

on the other hand, Redmi note 3 will stuck with 5.0.2

Plus Asus Zenfone 2 has much wider LTE Bands than Redmi note 3 (source from http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=7475&idPhone2=…)

  • One thing going for it [other than the 4 GB and Name] is that the only 4G bands missing are band 7 [2600] and the B40 and 42, which are Vivid wireless and experimental.

  • I've pulled the plug. I've been eyeing off getting in to Nexus 6X or 6P after using a Telstra Buzz for past few months to tie me over.
The price just hasn't come down far enough on those two and I'm getting overwhelmed by having a budget phone as my daily…
I'll enjoy this phone at this price point and when the next batch of flagships hit shelves I'll see what's what.

    • i reckon by the time anything substantial happens that will warrant you moving from this phone will be around the time Galaxy S8, LG G7 etc will be out.. hehehe (i.e. 18-24 months :P)

  • Why do I want 4gb and not 2 gb for $100 less

    • Depends on your phone usage. Normal usage FB/Youtube etc, you may not notice big difference.

    • Unused RAM is useless RAM. If you multitask loads of apps though, especially when switching between games, you'll want the extra RAM. 2GB may give you performance issues as it swaps applications in and out of memory. Android does a fair job though.

Personally, I have a 2GB memory phone, and I see no performance issues. I play lots of games on it. Soul Calibur, King of Fighters, etc. No problems switching between games and the launcher. Still. Hard to say what the requirements are for future apps.

      • With so MANY apps sitting in that 4 GB,
waiting for blips of info, etc. I bet
there might be a tendency to SLOW it.

Others' experiences with "lotsa apps in RAM"
        in an Android 5 system?

    • do you have the link pls?

  • I bought one for my mum and the camera is sux…lag n delay..i might try reset see if it works better. Note i did software update before and still does not help.

  • I bought one for my mum and the camera is sux…lag n delay..i might try reset see if it works better. Note i did software update before and still does not help.

    • Is the lag only on camera, or apps/browsing and day to day use too?

      • Yes camera only, I wasnt using much of it but when i play around the camera actually disappointed me…While other seems ok…or may be the phone getting warm after few minutes continuous usage..normal use mixture of web browse, video and little light gaming..but that happen to my note 3 too..

        • oh man, I had my finger on the trigger ready to purchase until I saw this… Thanks!

        • @jeayese:still very good price or may be just our one has faulty camera or driver which cause lag. Consider sd slot n 4gb ram unless u use camera alot otherwise doesnt bother as my mum doesnt complaint so far. Note: what my lag means when u r in your camera interface, when u move around the phone the image on the screen meant to be live but u can OBVIOUSLY see it delay the image for 1 or 2 secs. And when u press the shutter button the beep sound delay another 1 or 2 sec then follow by shutter sound then snap on the screen…it happen literally one step at the time. So yeah not sure the phone or software or faulty camera. Since from taiwan cant be bother to claim warranty unless some serious issue happen. Knock on wood.

        • @aladdin:

is it possible to install another rom on there and test it? maybe also try the google camera app instead?

  • I hope the glass screen is stronger than zenfone 5. I dropped that phone and screen shattered I sent away and installed a new screen myself $28 delivered from China including frame. It fell out top pocket when I bent over and there goes the screen again. I love the phone and still use it but I also have an Huawei that my 2 year old throws around and never breaks.

  • I missed this and just bought a phone of Qd_au last week. Do i have any recourse to complain and try and get the discount?

(I think not, but I'm hopeful!)

  • Does this have a notification LED?

  • I contacted seller and got this auto-reply. Interesting that I got no notification during the purchase phase that they were OOO.
