$100 Xbox Live Gift Card (~$60) at G2A

802

First time post, sorry for any mistakes.

Found a $100 Xbox live gift card (Only valid in Australia) for only $56.89. ~ 40% off
I would also suggest you purchase the G2A shield as it acts as insurance in case the code doesn't validate.

(For people that don't understand how gift cards work)
So pretty much you spend $56.89 (or $58.39 with the G2A Shield) and get $100 dollars to spend on the Xbox live store which includes Games, DLC, Movies, ETC

Mod: Referral codes not permitted for new users.

  • Worked like a charm!!! Many thanks OP, 40ish % discount is not something you get all days.

  • -1

Hmm… this sounds great even if its G2A who are known dodgey.

    • +1

      O'Rly? how so?

    • +3

This has a lot of downvotes but he is correct that they have a bad reputation especially in the streaming community. G2A is a shell company that does some pretty dodgy things. Fortunately, the majority of users do not experience it but friends of mine have lost a lot of money when making purchases when G2A was less known. They did not receive the games and G2A did not respond to any emails (I believe this was before shield which they implemented to shrug off problems like that). Also there are many cases of very late payments to sponsored live streamers who promote their platform, and accounts where the G2A wallets were being drained (a lot of speculation that G2A did this because users only had G2A wallet compromised). Personally I've only had successful transactions on their platform, but I would not be surprised if they do some ethically questionable things.

    • +1

Not sure why the down votes, but as another commented, G2A (and other key resellers) have far from a stellar reputation.

      • -1

Because the statement translates to: "Who cares if it's almost certainly stolen, it's cheap!"

        That's why the downvotes.

  • Can you use it to pay for things from Argentina store? Thinking of maybe getting the division gold edition if you can.

    • money cards are region locked

  • Works Perfect Thanks OP

  • Jesus this is good I just did this! Now finally an excuse to buy games digitally

  • Worked fine! I'm up to $250 credit so I should probably stop buying credit whenever it's on sale and buy more games.

  • +2

If only we could buy gold with credit…sigh

  • done..thanks OP. Very well done for your first post mate.
Paying via paypal added another $2.50 (payment charges) and brought the payment to $59.xx

    • There appears to be a $2.50 for credit card payment as well.

  • +2

I would suggest not buying the shield. Doesnt do shit (i tried once after gta v got removed from my steam acct). Paypal refunded me though. So dont pay for the shield. I think you have to pay a bit more to use paypal, treat that as your shield fee instead.

  • Are there any deals for Australian PS4 Psn cards? I had a look but got a bit lost…

    • +1

PSN Card deals are far and few between. As far as i know, there arnt any card deals ATM. They go on special as little as once a year and max twice or 3 times a year. Correct me if im wrong though.

Mostly PSN card deals are in store only rather than online making it a little harder.

  • Buy at your own risk. I've read plenty of purchases gone wrong over at /r/pcmasterrace. I'm sure you can find plenty of other stories elsewhere.

    • +3

      no problems with G2A

  • +2

I have purchased a few things from G2A now (including this) and never had any problems… I think some of the software is a little dodgy, things like NFR keys and Extended trial keys etc. though it really depends on the seller on G2A

    • +1

I think i only ever had a problem once
That was with a steam game the code had been already used
But i got a new code resent didnt have the g2a shield either

  • The code is referral to this guy https://twitter.com/jackfrags

  • ahaha jackfrags racking up the ez referral codes

  • Oh unlucky. I just bought xbox live for $65 last week. Could of waited and got this

    • I bought those microsoft gift card when they were 50% or 40% off last time and discovered that i cant use them to subscribe in anything. I tried to use them to subscribe in EA but they keept asking CC.

  • Anyone else having issue with the phone verification? So far 15min and nothing happen!

    • Countdown timer started at 12 minutes its been 15 just says contact attempt takes longer than usual….i just want to go to sleep…

Followed the change password link in an email they sent and suddenly the order completed, no phone call needed

  • Looks like the deal is dead - every time I tried to add one to my cart, it says there is a problem with it!

  • Just bought this for $57.93 (no shield) and immediately redeemed to my Microsoft account and subsequently bought The Division with M$0.05 to spare.

    • Is that the PC version price ? Or XBOX store..on XBOX store it's showing $99 (I have Aus account)

      • $99.95 on Xbox store

  • Tried to pay, but it wasn't successful. Reloaded the page and now there aren't any prices shown.

    • -6

yep..been using this for months without issue whenever I saw 55$..now this posted on ozbargain i'll never be able to do it again.

  • Wow I think we broke the whole website, shame I was planning to buy a bunch :(

  • I think its back up ??

    • The site is being all weird for me. Pages not loading, etc.

      • First started with the prices and now games don't show up as well, same on the app as well. Maybe give it a try with a VPN if you have one handy.

        • Got it working and managed to buy one. No G2A Shield and it redeemed fine.

  • This is what I get when trying to activate the code:

This code doesn't match your location
You can't use this code where you live. You need to use a code from your region. If you moved, go to Settings > System and make sure your location is correct.

I have my account set to Australia.

EDIT: HOLD THE HORSES! Go to Microsoft.com.au and sign in and redeem the code that way. It just worked :).

    • +1

Same thing happened to me so I tried redeeming it on my Xbox One and it worked that way.

    • For some reason the xbox site isn't designed that well for non US users, as you notice every time you try and redeem a code the url changes from AU to US. Your going to have to input the code on your xbox console.

  • I can confirm it now works via the app.
    Edit: and on the website.

  • can I buy Live gold with the credit?

    • No only content.
Just tried. Only option is a Credit card or PayPal.

  • +1

Anyone care to speculate how the seller is actually making money off of this? The flag suggests the seller is located in Vietnam, so it's not likely the Xbox codes in $AUD fell off the back of a truck.

    • +1

G2A is a key reseller site so it's safe to assume they aren't getting them through the typical distributors. At prices this low, and for something uncommon like this, I wouldn't be surprised if these were bought with stolen CC details.

      • That's exactly how they operate. I'm surprised they're allowed here on OB, TBH.

        • +1

The problem is that it's just an assumption they were bought with stolen CC numbers. I'm not buying for exactly this reason but I'm not sure OB has a policy on that. You'd need a little more proof I guess.

  • Thanks! Worked perfectly!

  • +2

G2A is dodgy as, and G2A Shield is a SCAM.

They NEVER pay out if you have a problem even if you bought their Shield.

It's only there just to make you feel safe while taking a fe more bucks for themselves. Only ever pay with PAYPAL and then maybe you might have some recourse.

Sometimes things get sold on G2A, only for customers to later find out that the goods they bought were STOLEN (i.e. paid for using Stolen Credit Cards) and then get their accounts banned.

G2A is very risky. It's basically like Gumtree for video game key trading.

I would be very, very, careful. I am surprised that G2A is not blocked on OzBargain due to their dodginess.

    • Thanks for the info. Will avoid.

  • Just purchased and redeemed 2 worked perfectly thanks!

  • -1

G2A is VERY well-known to be crooked. Yes, it might work, but that doesn't mean it's not supporting criminals.

  • +2

Meh you can suggest any marketplace is 'supporting criminals'.

I have no evidence this is the case with this seller and you can't tar an entire marketplace based on the chance some people are dodgey, I still buy things on eBay or gumtree even though some sellers could be selling stolen goods.

Policing things like that is up to law enforcement not me. If someone wants to take a personal stance of not using a marketplace just because some sellers might be dodgey that's their business, each to their own I guess

    • Comparing G2A to eBay shows how little clue you have about it. It's extremely well-known for using stolen CC - how else do you think they get the "deep discounts" they get?

"Policing things like that is up to law enforcement not me." Explains it all, pretty much.

      • +2

It's a marketplace, just deals in digital products. How do they get the 'deep discounts'? I don't know, I also didn't ask the seller on eBay why my new controller was a third of the price it is at target. If you go to an extra level of investigation with private sellers on online marketplaces that's your prerogative.

Couldn't find anything definitive in the two minutes I spent on google and reading articles to suggest G2A as a whole is just for criminals. Unless you count anonymous posters on reddit using their gut feel and intuition (and some mild racism in some posts). Did see a couple of online tech mags being happy to use the service (pcadvisor was the first result). Is there potential for dodgey sellers? Definitely, is that unique to G2A? No. But I also can't say the reasons given on their corporate site stating ways some sellers obtain discount pricing aren't legitimate.

Anyway very happy with my purchase :)

        • +6

"OzBargain - where it doesn't matter if it's stolen as long as its cheap!"

        • @Mic Cullen:

Do you have some evidence to table about this particular seller? Or the marketplace as a whole? OzBargain is a pretty good community and I am sure if shown evidence the deal would be removed quickly, I wouldn't be tarring yet another entire site with comments like that, especially this one, the report button at the top would be the fastest way for you to give the mods your evidence and have the deal removed.

        • +4

@Japius: What's the point? You've already said that you're happy to buy it as long as its cheap, and you don't care how it got to be that way.

The whole "ignore the big picture and the history of somewhere like G2A, if you can't prove THIS particular thing is bad, I'll assume it's just fine!" is how crooks like this get away with stuff.

I know you're not actually interested, but this is a good read: "http://www.polygon.com/2015/2/9/8006693/the-truth-behind-those-mysteriously-cheap-gray-market-game-codes"

        • +1

@Mic Cullen: very interesting article, thanks for the read.

        • +1

          @Mic Cullen:

Yeah this article was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the price of this "bargain".

        • -1

If you find any evidence definitely report it here and to all of their partners listed on g2a.co places like paypal etc will shutdown their accounts quickly and cripple g2a as a marketplace. Ill even stop using them then

  • +1

Purchased one on Paypal, worked fine, went to do another, had a phone verification message, then a email support then it was just cancelled automatically….

    Luckily Paypal instantly refunds.

  • +1

Guys, 99% likely that these are stolen. Too cheap to be legit.
If it was a steam key then your whole account could be banned since they find out eventually that those keys were bought by stolen credit cards.
Who knows how microsoft handles it? And why support theives?

    • +1

      becausecheap! becauseozbargain!

  • I bet Crackacoupon is affiliated with G2A, or one of their sellers.

  • It works out to about $65 now.

  • "Success!
$100.00 for your Microsoft account. You now have $100.00. "

You can use code "LRIK" to save an additional 5%. It saves you $1.71 off the fees. Seems to be more codes available online. Not sure if there is anything better out there.

    Cheers

    • -7

"Success! In true Ozbargain spirit, you have saved money by purchasing stolen goods. Well done you."

Hopefully all these codes get deauthorised.

      • +5

The seller has over 5k positive ratings. Can you please provide proof that they are stolen? Or are you just assuming because the price is too good it cant be legit? Or do you have a previous negative experience with this site/seller? I think you are right in voicing your concern (once), but given your number of posts and hoping the codes will will be deauthorized, is very anti ozbargain, and is just trolling.

        • -3

Because buying stolen goods and getting away with it means positive ratings, right? How does that prove anything other than people are happy to get away with buying stolen stuff?

"is very anti ozbargain" - well, DUH, given most people in this thread are quite happy to buy stolen goods.

  • +1

Thanks OP! Quantum Break for $65 from the Aus store - preinstalling now!

  • How are u getting it for $60? It's closer to $70 for me.. its 63 with $4 "additional cost" (whatever that is) with paypal?

    • oh nvm.. u have to scroll down to offers.. i see now

    • This is my first time using the store, so I am no expert. But there is the 2 offers below buy now. I just chose the one for $56.89

      • yeah i see now, still annoying "additional cost" of $4 or so comes up tho.. wtf is that for?

Oh well, time to purchase Trackmania :)

        • Not sure if its the payment method you are using, my additional cost was $2 but reduced by the "LRIK" discount code. Or are you buying 2 cards?

        • @addict: ah damn i missed the LRIK code.. that should be put in the OP really.. but oh well only a couple of bucks diff.. still a very good deal !

  • Worked fine. Thanks for sharing.

  • Mines turned pear shaped. Code not valid in your region

    • Can you get refunded?

    • are u using the website? it often defaults to US region

Look in lower left corner, it should say Australia, not United States.. try changing that

    • +1

Logged out and then back in and it worked. All good now thanks guys

  • nwm…

  • The LRIK didnt work for me.

  • I can't find any working discount codes. I have three in cart but I just want a 5% off or something.

[edit] I found "FRAGS". Less than $2 off a near-$200 purchase, but still better than nothing.

    • Came to $57.93 with FRAGS code and then using paypal . Opted not to use G2A Shield.

      • Kept timing out when I went to redeem code through xbox website and in the app on windows 10 (kept coming up with "oops something went wrong"). Turned on Xbox One itself and redeemed there and worked.

  • +1

Great find with the FRAGS code above paid also $57.93 so cheap.

Have bought many cdkeys from G2A.com over the years never had any issues.

    Sweet price

  • Just bought it without the shield, works straight away without issues (checked out with PayPal)

  • +1

Thanks Op, great price! I thought the 25% off from MS store deal for Father's day and Christmas last year was a bargain but this tops it.

Bought 3 with FRAGS code via Paypal for $176.25. Cheers.

EDIT : Forgot to mention that after putting phone # for verification, nothing happened for 5 mins so have reset password from the e-mail and created an account. After further 5 minutes, all 3 codes came by e-mail and order status changed to completed.

    • +2

turns out to be cheaper if you buy them one at a time as the FRAGS code is $1.71 off the total cost no matter the quantity.

  • +1

Thanks, purchased plans vs zombies 2 for the kids

    • +1

heard really good things about that.. was considering it also

  • +1

Thanks OP, bought one and the FRAGS promotional code bring it down to $57.93 inclusive of the fee for paying with PayPal.

  • Can't find the option? has it expired?
