That is an exceptionally cheap price for the drill & driver kit

    • Any idea of the quality?

      • Brushless / not brushless?

  • Nice deals

Ive just brought some lightings from masters, can I ask them to refund the differences?

Ive just brought some lightings from masters, can I ask them to refund the differences?

Why bother? Would you offer to pay extra if your lighting had gone up in price after you purchased?

      • -1

Because this is OzBargain where you make the most out of your dollar.

    • +1

Yes you can, up to 30 days of purchase. I did this for some shelves which they refunded me $130 difference.

  • Interesting about that 2 burner stove with hotplate…
Woollies supermarkets are selling the EXACT same one, but rebadged as 'Festiva' for $60.00. In the next catalogue too actually.

Have noticed over the years that the supermarket, Big W and Masters will often sell the exact same item, but it will be rebadged and have a different price, specific to that part of the company. Fans have been a good example.

Was in Masters earlier today and if you don't want/need the impact driver and would prefer the multi tool, the drill/multi tool combo is $99:

    https://www.masters.com.au/product/101728973/triton-xt-18v-h…

    • Agree with willyroo. You dont need impact driver unless you want to drive lots long screws into solid wood.

Got this combo last weekend, the drill seems solid enough for DIY, however the led light doesnt really light up where I want to drill, the light got blocked. The battery doesn't seems last long too, but enough for light work around the house

    • It says hammer drill.
Any difference between this drill driver and that hammer drill ?

      • "Drill driver" doesn't have hammer function.
"Hammer drill" have hammer function as well as drill driver function, even though hammer function is very limited on cordless.

        • +1

I have the hammer drill. It has three settings: hammer, drill and screw.

        • @twocsies: How do you find the drill, twocsies? I'm looking for a drill to do simple work around the house.

        • +1

@Chinerama: I recon its quite solid for DIYs, see my previous comment.

        • @cimot: Thanks mate. Does the blocked light and battery life bother you much at all? Or it's really nothing once you get onto it?

        • +1

@Chinerama: The blocked light shouldn't be really matter if you drill holes in open space. If you have to drill in dark enclosed spaces, you can simply use another source of light.

The battery might became a problem if you have to do big projects. The hammer drill/multitool combo only come with 1 battery. If you can't finish the project in one battery charge, you have to wait until it charged before continuing.

Rough estimate, I drilled 6 downlight holes, and it used up 1/4 capacity already.

        • +1

@Chinerama: The hammer drill is quite good. Plenty of torque. Haven't used it more than 20 minutes at a time but there was still something like 75% battery remaining. It didn't make it with very deep screws (so I had to drill pilot holes).

The multitool only comes with a single blade, which is a big downside because multitool blades are pricy. I was lucky to find a 9 blade set on promotional sale.

        • @cimot: Thanks for the review mate. How long does it take to recharge the battery?

        • @twocsies: Thanks mate. The drill multi tool combo is sounding pretty good now. How long does it take to recharge a battery?

        • +1

@Chinerama: From memory I read somewhere that the battery took 3 hours to recharge from empty.
Agree with twocsies, the hammer drill has plenty of torque. Haven't tried the multitool yet.

        • @cimot: Thanks mate. Think I'll be getting it this weekend.

        • I recently spotted a very cheap drill with 5 year warranty at Aldi, 18v, looked ok, but it was hammer drill and no clarity on if the hammer mode was disable-able :(

  • Thanks OP, Deals are currently active!

  • Merged from Masters: Campmaster Two Burners Butane Stove with Hotplate $39 (Save $90)

    7000 BTU Output

seems price is not yet reflected on web but I confirmed its available in store at $39.

    • +1

similar product @ Big W & Kmart both for $39. they don't come with a grill plate though.

    • +1

Yeah they are usually this price or often this price. Think Masters were smoking wacky tobaccy with the "save $90" bit.

    • +1

saw this on the weekend for the normal price, it looked good but over priced, $39 is a good deal though.
      comes with a carry case.

    • good for making burgers away from home

    • Anyone with experience with cheap butane cookers? Looks like they were blanket-banned in the middle of last year, but are apparently back looking at the camping store catalogues?

      Are they any safer now?

CAUTION: Triton Drill Driver Combination - Current catalogue - Masters @ Majura Park Canberra
Just bought one of these and on the box it clearly states there is a 1.5Ah and a 3.0Ah battery inside.
The security seal was broken when I got it and in front of the staff, I opened the box to find that the kit only has 2 x 1.5Ah batteries
We opened another two sealed boxes and sure enough they were the same (2 x 1.5Ah batteries)
Service manager checked and agreed that from what he could see it should be 1 x 1.5Ah and 1 x 3.0Ah battery.
I pushed him for a commitment to supply one with the correct battery combination and he agreed. He tried to source a 3.0Ah from in store, but Masters don't sell them???
If you've bought one of these https://www.masters.com.au/product/101550319/triton-18v-xt-i…
Then maybe you should check the batteries and see.
If and when Masters come back with a resolution then I'll post it.

    • +1

Thanks for the heads up mate.

      • +2

Hi, I had an email from the Masters Store and they are ordering the 3.0Ah batteries and should have them within two or three weeks. Seems genuine bloke, so I'll wait for his call…

  • The Campmaster 2 burner seems to be gone on the west side of Melbourne. Don't think they had much in stock then, especially seeing the deal was valid till the 30th. Didn't realize it wouldn't be available online - online chat confirmed that it was a super popular item and sold out in the morning. Would've been perfect for camping this weekend - oh well you win some.. you lose some.

  • Lighting does not include light bulbs. I tried to buy some LED light bulbs and they scanned at normal price. Tried to say that they were still lighting but the manager said they weren't.

Lighting does not include light bulbs. I tried to buy some LED light bulbs and they scanned at normal price. Tried to say …,

All the advertising including instore says that light bulbs are not included but for some reason you want to make the life of the staff difficult.
