    • Check if any of the app is still running in the background.

    • Mines sitting on 89 percent with 40 minutes screen on time, been using Bluetooth to stream audio to my car stereo for about an hour or so this morning. Unplugged from the charger at 7am this morning.

If you didn't factory reset when you got the phone, I'd definitely do that now.

      • I've shut down the apps and it still gets too hot when I put youtube on etc and the battery seems to drain for no apparent reason. I did Factory reset it because it came in Chinese. I got home today and it had 15% battery but I think I unplugged it at 3am so that was around 15 hours ago. Still from 100% to 15% in 15 hours that is quite short isn't it? I will see how I go but it doesn't seem normal to me. Is the battery life normally good for this phone? It just seems so odd.

        • 15 hours with use is excellent. 15 hours with minimal use is average.

Mine sat idle for 2.5 hours the other day and it used 0%. The joys of doze.

Today mine is down to 60% after being on for 12 hours with average use.

I am happy with the battery life.

Love the phone overall. My Note 4 was sold earlier this week.

        • @boxall: OK,so I unplugged it at 7am and at 1pm it is sitting at 46% it just seems to be very inconstitent in regards to the amount of battery thT it uses. I expect to get at least a bit of time out of it. Do you switch data etc off? It does heat up too much for my liking.

        • @robb2002:

Data wifi and bt all on.

        • @boxall: Sorry I didn't understand the last comment. I have 4G+ with Optus but use wifi when I am at home which is more than I am out. It is now sat at 24% since the last time that I posted. I think that it might be faulty.

        • @robb2002:

Data, wifi and Bluetooth are all on.

        • @boxall:OK definitely a problem there. I will contact Kogan who haven't up until now responded to my complaint. Thanks mate :)

        • Perhaps try turning the data over to 3g to see if that helps with battery life. You could be in a fringe area for the 4g network causing the line to drop out and cause battery drain. Also check what apps are causing the majority of the drain.

Go to settings > network > mobile data and click the three dots in the top right. Go to mobile networks > network mode > GSM WCDMA auto.

        • @Craigusevo: Thanks for the reply. I am living in Melbourne so not sure about being in a fringe area. It does go in and out of 4G+ and 4G at random intervals so maybe it is that. I have found that if I turn the location off then it saves heaps of energy for the battery. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Cheers buddy.

I got the Black leather. Received on Tuesday (maybe was even Monday… not sure as been busy).

Very happy with it - though I was upgrading from a Chinese droid on its last legs.

Well packaged, needed reset and language change but no bloatware I could see. Dec 15 manufacture. No reason to question the leather (despite it being a very thin veneer). Sealed packages, minor screen prints and smudges (like around three marks), so I reckon there was a boot up and basic operation check. They must have a battery they use for this purpose as mine was sealed.

Reading through the posts, I suppose I also tend to have heightened suspicions when dealing with retailers like Kogan, or when getting really good deals online, I suppose it is only natural. And yes, I have been reading here, and on Whirlpool to see what I should look out for. But I do try to remember that if Kogan were to operate in the same way as Harvey Norman* (*merely an example), then they would obviously be charging Harvey Norman prices. Overall the large percentage of posters seem to be happy so I am glad and fortunate to be in the satisfied majority.

As a side note.. I had 'just' purchased an AU stock G3 for what I thought was an 'ok' price when this deal came up. Was really happy when the seller said that I could return for a refund at my postage cost. They didnt even charge their own postage cost. So doubly pleased at the outcome.

  • if you do a factory reset on the phone, does it remove the malware/adware that comes with it?

I didn't even check, but my phone booted in a different language, no first time setup, but did not notice any suspicious apps. I factory reset it anyway through the settings menu.

  • Received mine. Manufacturing date is 12/2015. Hope it is the model post updates. Also, it says Made in Korea but TWN is written next to IMEI number too.

    • Got the exact same unit.

    • Yep - made in Korea for the Taiwan market, as opposed to the US or European models. They have different radios.

      • Is this model post all the updates to fix the root issues?

SO I finally received mine today. Manufactured 03/16 and is a Taiwan model. Very happy with the unit and LG's UI is great too.

Hi I just wanted to check back in here. I received mine Monday, courier had it on board over the weekend. It is a Brown Leather with 01/2016 manufacturing date, booted through normal first time setup and did not have to change language nor was there any extra bloatware loaded. It had just 1 oval shaped red sticker sealing the box. I don't think it had been opened at all.

Coming from a Lumia 830 this is like a breath of fresh air. It is a beautiful piece of hardware. I don't think you could find anything better for the money. Finding it a slippery sucker though, have not dropped it but it is slick. Getting used to the buttons on the back, but double tap to wake is good coming from the Lumia which has it. I am finding the battery to be very good, and battery drain in poor coverage is better than the Lumia.

The main thing I was concerned about is the size. This phone is not that big at all, certainly not Samsung Note size, and much smaller than the Nexus 6P. It is only marginally bigger than my 5 inch Lumia, and the curved shape makes it really pocketable. So with SD Card, very good camera, and removable battery, all up a very good package and certainly anyone on the fence should give it a run next time they come on special.

    • Agreed. Very happy with my purchase as well.
Upgrading from S4 with lollipop I feel this phone is a huge improvement.

  • This is exactly what I mean. It was fine and then BOOM sucked 55% of the battery in 3 hours when I wasn't doing much. I really do wonder what the problem is. I suspect that the battery is old and that it has been used for a long time as it wasn't sealed. Had enough of it now. I have closed down tbe apps continuously throughout the day and also switched 4G off. See attached photo. Battery now at 12% after taking it off charger 9+ hours ago. Shocking! December 2015 build.

    • If you browse down on the battery usage page it tells you the % which the appps are using . Have a look at that. Otherwise speak with kogan and get the battery or phone replaced.

      • Hey mate, I have done that now. The screen is using 42% of my battery, Andorid is next on 11% but that can't be right when I am not really using it. I just think it is a faulty device :/

Phone arrived. Opened it up all excited. Looked great.

Turned it on, apps optimising, then after a while turns off. Can't seem to turn it back on.

Remove the battery, reinsert the battery turn it on. Phone doesn't even turn on.

After several battery removals the phone turns on, boots up and then shuts down again.

I contact Kogan, response is that it's been referred to a senior team member and they'll get back to me in 3 to 5 business days.

In the meantime the phone starts working again. Uptime of 33 hours and then shuts down and wouldn't turn back on. Sometimes it turns in on but promptly shuts down again Haven't been successful in turning it on for the past ten hours.

Also same thing happens when I try to charge the phone whilst it's off. Charging screen comes on but then hangs and turns off.

FYI, I got two of these during the sale and only really used one so far - it has now started freezing and rebooting on its own every minute or so. Did a factory reset, switched battery, removed SD card and sim, and still happened on a fresh factory reset with no apps. Researched it and looks like some LG G4 batches have bad boards and this is a known issue.

Initiated a replacement with Kogan which appears to have solved the issue with other users, however I'm afraid they are going to send me another one from the same batch. And I'm also afraid the other phone I bought will have similar issues.

Quite disappointed with LG - may never buy one of their devices again.

Mine says it was manufactured in Jan of 2016.

    • If it was a known issue for some batches, why don't the withdraw those phones from the market? Why make consumers suffer? I have started hating LG and Kogan for it now. Honestly, sending a phone back and waiting for another (if they agree to exchange) and reset/reload everything including contacts isn't fun. It sucks.

    • February 2016.

    • Well, I've now shipped it back after telling them. I took a video of it happening too in case they try to jerk me around. Very annoyed. If anyone else is having issues with their G4 let us know and I'll be happy if no one pipes up so that I can assume it was isolated to my device (obviously)

  • Kogan have agreed to replace my faulty phone. Hopefully this one works out. Does anybody have any ideas on the procedure? I am guessing that I would have to wait for a long time?

    • What was wrong with your device? When was it manufactured?

  • It was manufactured in Dec 2015. The battery drained too quickly and then it started to switch off on its own. Today I made a call and it would not end and the screen went off so I had to remove the battery. It was also previously opened and has finger marks on it and the battery had been used. Not good.

    • YOU need to communicate with Kogan immediately.

      • I have done. Is there anything that I should know?

        • if you want the phone then you have to sent it back(after they apply you with a return label), if you want refund just open a case in ebay and they will be in touch with you shortly.

  • I am waiting for the label. They didn't bother sending me one today though.

  • Im happy with mine. Battery is better than prev 3yr old phone. Its smooth and fast. Good enough for me.

Feb 2016 red leather. Came with marshmallow installed.

  • Still waiting for it to arrive….. was meant to be last week……

  • I received an email from ebay saying that my order was meant to arrive last week. Really pissed off. Kogan did not call me or email me, but after enquiring with them, apparently my order was "on hold". Horrible customer service experience…….

  • Their answer is to cancel the order, after holding my money for so long….. so unacceptable….

  • I am surprised people finding an unsealed unit acceptable. Also G4 reboot and boards issues are well known and can hardly be fixed. I'd rather get a refund than risk it.

  • Well after being sent a BS e-mail by Kogan they have sent me a return label but that was only after I threatened to contact my credit card provider (they hate it when you say that). I am sending it back tomorrow so that is another 14 business days of waiting. What a joke…

Not sure if anybody is reading this,

But i had a phone that the language was set to Chinese(Or some other Asian language) and had extra bloat installed on it, I made a complaint and Kogan refunded $50 bucks back, instead of returning it.

So Ruslan, your okay by my books, and i recommend this for anybody who had the Chinese language with bloat installed.

Sorry for the spam, I think even if a few more people complain and get $50 bucks back, it will be worth it!

    • Hello, that is very interesting. It sounds like the same thing. I got an e-mail from them today telling me that they had received the return etc and that it could take up to 14 business days for one of their staff to assess the phone. Yes the phone was not brand new and that was the original issue but the battery drained far too quickly for my liking so they are focusing on the fault and not the first issue. Oh well…

    • How did you contact them and what did you say if you don't mind me asking.

I'll give it a go. Cheers bud.

      • I sent them an message on ebay like this:

I recently brought a phone of you LG G4 H815 and the phone was opened, turned on, the language was changed to Chinese and had Chinese adware installed on it.

And i know that others are getting them without the Chinese adware installed, i'm leaving negative feedback sorry.

"Then they said could you send us a photo of the adware?" i replied with:

I'm really cautious of phones that don't have the start up setup sequence that android has built into it, so i had no choice but to factory reset it.

They replied with "Would you like a replacement if you ship it back to us or we can offer you $50 dollars cash back."

  • I purchased a G4 and a Nexus 6P , both have alot of issues and appear to be faulty, one of the issues is severe battery drain and screen problems. They agreed to return , i sent it back but they aren't responding in regards to refund. Do you guys think i should raise this with Paypal ? I dont mind getting black listed with kogan as this will be the last time i ever buy anything from them.

    Terrible

  • Darn I, just started to use and setup my G4 from Kogan, began to have screen graphical glitches. Now only the backlight turns on no LCD :(

  • looks like many people got defective and/or used units. Anyone had any luck getting a refund ? I've returned my unit but they are delaying me for refund giving excuses that they are "Assessing it"

    Kogan never again

  • As per my previous comment, sent out the defective unit and now it has been a total of 17 days since diagnosis, and probably over a month since the purchase. Thus far I never had issues with Kogan but this may be my last purchase with them. I even took a video of the defective actions and so there is nothing to assess. Very frustrated with this suspect behavior on their part. Who knows what boat they found these units on.

  • Recently i notice the recording volume on the microphone is much lower than my previous phone, which made me a bit frustrated. As that's the primary function of the phone.

Do other people have the same problem?

I tried to turn the "Noise suppression" and "Voice Clarity" function on and off, doesn't make much difference.

There are actually 2 microphones on this phone according to the manual, i am not sure if other people notice

Also, is there a difference between "4G+" and "4G", sometimes i saw it switching between each other but most of time is on 4G. I am using Vaya (Optus).
