Resolution - 1080FHD (lower res offers longer recording time but blurry footage)
Loop Recording - 3 Minutes (each to their own but smaller files are more stable)
WDR - On (close to pointless but slightly enhances low light recording)
Exposure - +0.0 (default but feel free to experiment with this)
Motion Detection - Off (can fill up your card with locked files when switched on)
Record Audio - On (up to you but may be handy to record indicator & horn sounds etc.)
Date Stamp - On (advisable)
Gsensor - Off (can fill up your card with locked files when switched on)

Date/Time - Must change format to YY/MM/DD before setting date! Change back once set. May not stick first few times but check back and re-set after regular use.
Beep Sound - Off (can get annoying as makes sounds during bootup/shutdown)
Language - English
TV Mode - PAL (menu exits after setting this. Press ‘M’ twice to re-enter menu)
Frequency - 50 Hz
Screen Saver - 3 Minutes (best set short to avoid the distraction)
IR LED - Off (white LED on this model so this feature is pointless)
Car Plate - Use up/down arrows to scroll characters and ’M’ to progress. Press REC when finished to save data.

    Bought this in the last deal.

    I have to concur that it is quite a good value for money unit.

    I use it for the rear of the car to complement my BlackVue from one. The video is quite good and can match the Blackvue I spent $200 on.

    Everbuying delivered so cannot complain.

        At the recommended settings above, its ~300mb for a 3 minute block of video.

        So roughly 1gb is 10 mins of video, 32gb = 320 mins and 64gb = 640 mins (assuming full card with no locked files).

          you can only use 59.4GB out of 64GB card so I would say about 590 mins ~ 9 hours and 50mins

      Are you sure there isn't a protective sticker on the lense? (Sorry I have to assume you might be stupid like myself) I did the same mistake with my dash cam and didn't realise it until I copied a video to my computer and was pissed at the quality for a few hours.

          If you're talking about the noises at like 1:50, it's a sound Melbournians are used to.

          It comes from the DC electricity transformers for the trams that affect AM radio signals. Nothing to do with the camera.

        Capacitor model has enough power to save the last file, oncethe key is turned off or no power supplied to the socket.
        Comes with a fixed cable cig socket plug with about 3m cable length.
        Im buying a usb to mini usb 2m cable so I can use my qc2.0 3 port ish charger for phone as well.

        Not an issue for many but I found having the location and speed recorded very useful… especially when the wife was driving.

          Ha, nice. I thought about that too but decided it wasn't important enough to spend the extra on. Each to their own of course but I was looking at it from a grass-roots perspective. If I was involved in an accident and it went to court then location wouldn't be difficult to confirm and relatively accurate speed can be estimated using the time & distance measurements direct from the footage. Different of course if you just wanted to keep easy track of a partner or employee though :)

          I'd actually prefer a Dashcam that connects direct to the OBD-II connector so it acts like a proper Black Box recording everything including speed, revs, braking, indicators & lights, wipers, the whole lot and they are available for around $600 but alas I've been told that they suffer incompatibilities across different car brands & models :(

      the cam will be off unless you use battery pack. also motion detector only record after something had hit your car.
