      Pretty sure the waiting time to cancel via phone is 7 months.

      You cancel via your online profile. There is zero phone support.

      Don't leave cancelling to the last minute either, as the online portal has a habit of being down.

    • Mine was paused and worked ok.

    • Same happened to me before. I facebooked the admin at Presto and they told me it's about my credit card detail (which had changed since I last put in). It is working now after I updated it.

      See if this fix the problem, if not, send them a message on facebook!

  • Just signed up, thanks OP, it says you can cancel any time during the bonus period by going to your Presto settings and select 'Close Account'.

    • Dont cancel, paue it and if something comes on thats good you can re activate and TRY to watch it.
      Pause will only work for whole mnth bill periods.

    • the Android apps have some problems before .. i.e. audio losing sync and fast forwarding a movie crashed it but this doesn't seem to happen much now. No problems with using the service on PC.

      It certainly has a lot to offer for the price.

    Crapto was only used by mrs for one show so other that free theres no real value in it for us .

  • For what purpose is the 'Pause Subscription' link used? Presto won't say.

    • After my mrs watched her 1 show it sat there not used.
      I went to cancel it but used puse instead, think presto prompted me to from memory.
      It paused the account at end of that billing period.
      You could get this 6mth deal then pause it, watch a couple shows over next month then you have 5 mnths banked away for future that will prob never get used 👍

        yeah as above. I paused my Presto with 2 days to go before expiry rather than cancelling a/c. If you cancel you lose your a/c and have start up everything from new. My thinking was if I paused it and a new deal comes along (like this one) I just unpause my a/c and add the code and "presto" another 6 months for free. So far I have had 18 months of free Presto :)

      Yeah, it really is a sub-standard service. Content feels like the bottom of the DVD bargain bin at kmart. Apps on Android TV and PS4 are clunky and prone to crashing.

      I think I've watched half a movie in the last 4 months.

    If you already have an existing Free sub account, then create a new one, all you need is a different email and credit card details. If you have Gmail, it can actually be the same address, but add a "."
    Eg [email protected] for Acc 1, and then [email protected] for Acc 2
    Once you apply this code to Acc 2, and it is active, pause it straight away and then resume when your free sub on Acc 1 ends.

    My Acc 1 has a 6 month sub expire July 27, so I have just used this code for 6 months on Acc 2 and paused it immediately, and will resume on July 28, or anytime after that, that I decide to try an watch something.

    • I never knew when you pause a subs you don't lose time on the free subscription time. Good to know!

    • Pausing a free subscription makes no difference to the expiry date. I just paused my previous free subscription and the system says paused on 08/08/2016.

  • Can anyone say about the quality of these streams? At least until middle of last year Presto had only SD quality. Sorry, I'm just not going to hurt my brain by watching VHS tapes, and I'm not going to bother with SD quality likewise.

    Seems to indicate that the HD streams are available and that the resolution is much better than before. For free it seems worth it, but paid?

    But it's still most certainly running third in terms of the quality of its service, despite the recent improvements. Given that it's also the most expensive offering, this makes it harder to recommend.

      It's definitely a lot better quality than it use to be, it use to be lower than SD and now it looks quite good at least 720p or higher using a chromecast or smart TV.

  • Worked on my existing account (has been inactive for a while). Had to use a real credit card, but put in a VISA test number back into billing, so I have no worries if I forget to pause the account 6 months from now.

      No, it only works on Nexus Player, Sony and one other TV.
      They are useless that their app was done so poorly and doesn't work with all Android TV devices.

  • Just FYI,
    with Stan (and Netflix?), you can 'cancel' the subscription immediately after applying the code, so you will not be billed if you forget about it.
    Presto does not allow that, only a 'pause', which stop access at the end of the current month.

    Or you can use a credit/debit card that expires within 6 months.

  • OK, just signed up, very straight forward. As new customer, apply the code and done. Now under my profile it says:

    100% off for 6 months

    You will be charged $0.00 per month for the first 6 months, then $14.99 per month there after.

    Anyone complaining about that has issues

    • Only thing I noticed is that they do not give you a date, you need to manually work out when your 6 months will expire.

    Seriously who does this? By the end of this deal I'll be 1.5 years up on Presto for free. Honestly if I had to put a price on it, I'd say it's probably work 8 bucks a month max, for $15 no one in their right mind would be paying for it.

    Just a word of Warning, The Presto app on Samsung Tvs has to be the poorest excuse for streaming since Stan tried to launch with a casting service only

    Firstly, the login process is tedious and they dont utilise the autocomplete keyboard built into the samsung smart tv os, so logging in is painfully slow, and thats when you even can, it took me about 5 times of closing app reopening and re-entering password and username for the submit button to work

    Next the app layout is horrible, they could really take a leaf out of stan and netflixs GUI's

    Streaming itself, quality was good, but why oh why is there no autoplay and after watching a few episodes of walking dead and closing app, really the first thing i see should be a continue watching previous shows feature like EVERY other platform has.

    Lastly and this is whats probably going to make me delete the app and cancel my subscription after 1 day, is the poor coding within the app itself. E.g. The app has tried to overlay its own volume controls instead of using the samsung tv volume, and as such when it doesnt work due to Prestos numerous bugs, your physically unable to change the volume without exiting the app going into any other samsung tv channel or app adjusting volume and going back into Presto, Ive done some research and this appears to be a samsung tv specific bug and doesnt effect all tvs, but it effects enough for Presto/Foxtel to look into fixing it.

    In my honest opinion.. Dont waste your time as id say most of the content seems to be similar to netflix and stan anyway.

  • Just be aware of the fact that "You can have up to six(6) devices to view your content." and especially "You can remove or replace only one(1) device from the first day of every month.". That is an issue for me since I use more than 6 devices to stream stuff.

  • True. The Android app is buggy, lots of errors, I get buffering pauses at peak times, so back to Stan and Netflix, which both work much better.
