Please note that the output of this battery pack is 2 mAh. If you have a Nexus device etc, you probably want to get a pack that charges at the max USB rate of 2.4 mAh - or even better, a USB-C Battery pack that charges at 3 mAh (although these are difficult to source at this time).

    • +42

I think you meant to say Amps instead of mAh?

      • +7

Yes. How on earth has the comment above got so many upvotes?!

      • Maybe it's 10^-3 the speed of a the regular ones haha.

  • Not a dig against the deal, but doing some reading on reddit, people are saying that it will only quick charge the powerbank itself not able to quick charge devices like the Nexus6P

    • +5

That's because 6P doesn't support Qualcomm QC. Also, the Type C connecter on this powerbank is only for charging the powerbank itself, you have to use the standard usb output to charge devices.

      • Actually reading the description seems to suggest the USB c port is capable of both recharging the pack and charging devices. It says it's compatible with a Macbook too.

        • +5

Unless it's a new model the type c port is definitely input only. Have a look at the comments for some of the previous posts for this item. The description I think you're referring to is written poorly and I think is trying to say you can use a USB-A to USB-C cable to charge a USB-C device.

        • @carkell: thanks for your comment, it's pretty likely that is what the description is trying to say. I'm waiting for a cheap power bank that outputs USB C.

  • +5

I have this unit.. it qc bith ways.. this is very cheap.. i bought mine for like 45. Has been excellent so far.

    • Does this allow pass-through charging?

      • What is that?

        • +1

Charging a device whilst the powerbrick is being charged itself if im not mistaken

        • If cables are connected like this: charger → power bank → device, can it pass the charge through to the device directly?

        • Yeah like the others mentioned, charging a device while charging the power bank.
Handy if you only have one power point.

        • +3

@unco: this works for me. I charge via usb c and charge phone with regular usb.

        • @hippyhippy:
          Thanks for confirming :)

  • So does this QC devices and QC itself?

    • +3

Yes it's QC both ways and confirmed by hippyhippy above

  • How fast does this charge?

    • +1

There is an indicative time of 1 hour 50 mins for charging the Xiaomi note which is 3000mAh

    • According to the description, quickly.

  • Yeah I have this unit too, love it to bits. QC both ways. QC on a powerbank = win!

  • Is the AliExpress site currently down? I can't seem to get onto it..?

    • +1

      still up and running now.

  • Anybody know if this will charge the Dell XPS 13 (2015+) version via the USB-C port?

    • +1

This doesn't have USB PD. Only 5V output so probably only 10W.

      • +1

XPS 13 needs 19.45V +/- 1V, at 2.31A. Only a battery bank that can output 20V, would really charge at the full rate.

    • +1

The XPS13 has their own power companion battery system where you can charge your phone(2xusb) and your xps at the same time. The battery offer a 1 of the 2 as a power charger for quick charge, not sure how much faster but noticeably getting my 6p from low to full

  • +2

Also a very decent price on this one. It's only 9000mAh but it is QC 2.0 and comes with a QC 3.0 charger

    • Man, if only it didnt look so hideous. Thats a great deal

  • is this the real deal or a fake copy verion? heard they fake lots of xiaomi stuff such that they now have special stickers and codes to validate its authenticity

    • +3

Check the user feedback on the page.. They all indicate this is a genuine product.

    • +1

The seller has a 98.1% positive from 82,892 sales. Based on this I would say genuine.

  • -1

A good deal if you have a USB-C phone, but if you have a (old) standard micro USB-B then you're going to have to carry a second cable or adapter.

    • +3

No, the USB-C port on it is for Power-in only. Power out is USB-A.

But you need to use a cable anyway, I don't understand what did you mean by "second".

      • +3

I see that the cable that it comes with has an adapter, so it's less of an issue. The point is, with the other powerbanks you charge it with one cable, then turn that cable around and plug it into your phone; you only ever need the one cable (important if you're carrying this around in luggage). If you have to charge the powerbank with a USB-C, then you want to charge your USB-B device then you need to have either a second cable or an adapter.

  • +2

Bought a 5000mAh last week from a previous deal. But the double capacity and USB c make this a tempting deal. Think I'll bite.

  • Does it support pass-through?

    • +1

I believe all xiaomi powerbanks do.

  • +3

Everything looks 4.85% more attractive on Aliexpress since yesterday.

  • Scrolled down to the transaction history for the product. Aus buyers for pages and pages

  • Which quick charger to buy to charge it?

  • How do I use cashrewards? I couldn't find the same product using cashrewards link. Got link to similar product but its priced at 37USD.

    • +1

nvm, found out that I can add to cart using from this page then signing in using cashrewards and buy from cart.

    • +2

Try adding to cart using the above link first.
Then login through Cashrewards and it should still be in the car, then just click to checkout.

      • Thanks! Just figured it out and posted that comment seconds before you. haha!

  • Will this charge a macbook?

    • I'd like to know the answer to this too.
MacBook 12' that is, the only one with USB-C

      • +1

Defs won't charge from the powerbank's usb c port as that is only an input. Curious about the minimum amps to charge a macbook though.

  • Shipping to Australia: 15-45 days!! + 4 days processing time.

Is this just to cover themselves? Or can we actually expect up to 45 [business?] days delivery to Sydney?
Has anyone had any experience with Ali Express delivery? Never purchased from them before.

Probably worth spending a little extra and getting it from Banggood (currently on sale) who claim 7-25 business days - http://www.banggood.com/Original-Xiaomi-10000mAh-Bothway-QC2…

    • +1

I dont know about Ali Express but my last 2 items from Banggood arrived in 2 weeks .Meanwhile the item i ordered from Gearbest hasnt arrived even after a month.

      • Thanks. I think I'll play it safe and purchase it from Banggood as I need it in at least around a month.

  • +3

I bought one a couple weeks back for USD30
This is recently released so I believe fakes are not yet available. Yes this support pass through and QC both ways.

Minor gripe is that it needs micro USB to USB-C adapter to charge the powerbank using normal micro USB cable (supplied). The adapter is so small and will be easily lost

  • Please if anyone can answer my question:

If I purchase this QC power bank for my iPhone 5S.
Do I need to purchase anything else? Litighing to USB-C cable?

    Thank you in advance.

    • +2

You charge the iPhone using a standard USB to Lightning cable. You may wish to buy a USB-A to USB-C cable in order to more easily charge the powerbank itself, but this is not essential.

      • Thank you!

        • +3

Although I do not think iPhones support QC so the only advantage of this powerbank is that it itself will charge quickly. Charging of the iPhone will be normal.

  • Can I please confirm if this supports All Samsung phones?

    • -1

It supports any phone that can charge with micro USB-B (the standard one that you're used to) or USB-C (the new one).

    • Supports any phone that charges using a USB type A cable (normal rectangular USB plug).

      • If you bring your own cable. It comes with a USB-C cable with a micro USB adapter.

  • Has anyone taken one of these on a flight? did you declare it as dangerous goods?

  • +1

Anyone had their Powerbank shipped? After 5 day's mine still is in the 'box' stage when tracking.

  • has anyone received their powerbank yet? mines been sent to australia since 25/6/2016 and hasnt updated

    • Yes I've got mine

      • do you mind mentioning when you received?

        thanks!

        • Got it last week Wednesday..
