        Last night here on ozbargain was a seconds deal. Same tv from Sony seller with same code for 799

        Deal was taken down as it sold out very quick. Still seconds or refurbs tvs is a no go.

    as good as this deal is, I will pass.
    for a 50" size TV, I would rather wait for a few more months for 4K price to drop.

    I am an ozbargainer, Brand name doesn't carry much weight.

      I prefer brand name stuff as their quality is generally better and products are more reliable in my experience.

      4K on a 50 inch TV is fairly useless though. I know someone will neg me for having the audacity to make that statement. The eyes have a finite resolution which we've reached. The main advantage of 4K TVs is you can sit closer to them without losing definition than you can with a Full HD TV.

      If you're planning on sitting 2-3 metres from the TV, a Full HD TV will give you the same experience as a 4K TV will. It's not worth spending the money and it's mostly marketing to convince people to upgrade their TVs every few years.

    Not a bargain for Me. On the other day went to Jb to browse TVs . They sold this model Brand new Tv for $1100 with 5 years extended warranty.

    I'd been looking at buying this model from JB hifi for $998 a couple of weeks ago when stock ran out. Both the 43" and 50" disappeared. I was cranky cos I don't want 4K UHD.

    It's hard to find a good "Smart" 3D TV with all the features of the W800C in a Full HD (1080p) TV now. Would have bought the 43" for $798, but it sold out so I was willing to spend more for the bigger 50" at $998. Then, both vanished from the JB website, I figured it was end-of-life, and decided to take whatever I could find. So I got a refurb 50" from Sony eBay last night (last one so bought in a hurry). Now I see that JB hifi have brand new stock again, and tomorrow have 5% off.

    If I could take back my refurb order, I'd be getting a brand new KDL43W800C from JB hifi for $798 - 5% plus delivery of $36 -> $794 vs the $799.20 for the 50" refurb.

    The 55" is also back in stock at JB hifi for anyone who's interested, for $1198 (minus 5% tomorrow)

    /end of story, hope this helps someone choose the best option for themself

    I have this TV… I wouldn't swap it for an Aldi cinema complex.
    All the lags are very acceptable and PQ is great… Also it says sony on it :)

    But I wouldn't shop grays
