To get your free copy of Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac (Not For Resale): simply scroll down the page until you see "Step 2: Pass the knowledge check" and choose the following answers.

  1. All of these
  2. True
  3. Programs, files, media, and user settings such as browser favorites
  4. All of the above

Now scroll further down a little and fill in the form, for the part that says Company just write Student, and below "Store Number or Store Name" just select Creative.

Once you have done that, click on the big green Sign Up Now button. On the final page it says it can take up to 10 days to receive the serial, but I received mine 4 days after submitting the form :)

    Well finally got it. This is how…

    1). Get woken up at 430am.
    2). Can't go back to sleep.
    3). Tummy feels like it needs to do a number 2.
    4). Go to throne room.
    5). Try the Parallels site while sitting on throne.
    6). Profit :D

      They have a yearly subscription based pricing. If you look that way, it's free. It's a trial from perpetual license perspective.

      I refreshed the page (many times in three browsers) and after a while to formfields were working. No idea. But it worked.

    It seems that the form has been disabled. All name / company fields have been set to readonly and the submit button has been hidden. I used the Chrome dev tools to edit the HTML and removed the readonly tags on the fields, the display-none setting on the submit button and the disabled tag on the submit button and were able to submit the form successfully. Haven't received an email yet but the message said it needed 10 business days to process…

      click on (play) all of the videos then it should be active after you answer the questions. this worked for me.

    Did you guys read the fine print, or just barrelled forward anyway? If you aren't working for an authorised reseller they won't honour this. This is a promotion to allow reseller employees to better understand the product to assist with selling it. The 10 day wait is for them to verify your employment with a reseller.

      I was a Parallel user a few years ago. Back then. while Apple provided a free OSX upgrade each year, if you decided to upgrade your MAC OS, the existing Parallel version would not support the newer OSX version, forcing an upgrade every single year. It had just become too costly. Not sure if things have changed in the last gew years.

      I work at a school, so I used my @education address. I listed my role as Education Sales. They'll likely either assume I'm a student, or see that I don't work at an authorised reseller, and deny my request. Oh well.

    Went through the form and instantly received my redemption code, then upon redeeming was instantly emailed my serial key.

    Perhaps helps that I used my work email address and we probably are a VMWare reseller.

    I keep getting an error when I try to enter information "Please watch all videos and complete the quiz first."
    I've done the quiz & opened the videos in tabs

      Once you clicked on the video link, it will turn to green; just click all of them (so that all videos turn to green)
