eBay 15% off Sitewide Offer When You Spend $75 or More (Max $300 Discount)

11460
CODE15

Just received a call this morning, while I was on the way to work, from a trusted source that was right in the past about (3 out 5 times).

They are claiming that their friend's hairdresser sister was walking her dog with her best friend last night and her best friend told them that there will be 15% Site wide. Possibly starting today. I have no further details so don't ask.

It seems somewhat hard to believe due to the number of coupons that were floated this month but I thought I'd share it anyway. I possibly risk the largest number of negs if it's not coming to fruition but I'll take the punt to give my friends at ozbargain a heads up.

I am getting my cart content lined up….

Remember to use cashrewards…

      • Let me rephrase. I am buying from International seller (No gst). Good costs $1100. After discount <$1000.
Now, my question is will I have to pay GST on that? Since the invoice usually has the original amount?

        • If the invoice has the original amount and over $1000 (which is very likely because ebay funded the discount)

Then yes, you have to pay for GST.

  • I'm starting to wonder about all these recent ebay discount deals.

Is ebay the company in trouble? There was an article a while ago about the site having stagnant growth - no net new users for months. Are all of these deals an attempt to artificially boost their short term user numbers?

Anyway…time to buy a new laptop!

i haveno idea for make offer

  • Is this proof that the discount is paid entirely by ebay and not the seller? Some people defend the sellers jacking up prices for an ebay sale because they have to pay half of it or something.

But I'm not jacking the prices for the things I'm selling, so I'm not paying any part of it. Therefore, is there any justification for places like Kogan raising the price during a sale?

    • No because sellers always jack up prices before promos. Its prob evidence that some promos are paid by ebay and others get some charge for the seller

    • +2

We just received confirmation that a retailer has to be specifically involved in the category discount sale, which is why they bump up prices, so they're not taking a huge loss.

As this is a sitewide discount, eBay covers the difference, so price jacking is just them doing the dodgy.

I think it's time we pulled a larger portion of our store across to eBay to give people some bargains!

  • -2

Oh great! Now they decided to have a 15% off after I placed an order yesterday!

    Could have saved $32 bucks…Oh well…FU Ebay!

    • Cancel the order.

      • -1

According to the seller it was already shipped…I might give it a try and ask them to cancel. Kind of dubious since it was ordered on a Sunday.

        • i'm sure they will understand

        • -5

You could be a bastard and refund it for credit. You would have to claim it was faulty.

        • +1

@llama: Not cool, its hard enough to make an worthwhile profit on ebay without scammers. its not the sellers fault ebay released the code.

        • @llama: Nah, that is dishonest and a negative to anyone.

        • @sintro: The seller was awesome! Cancelled my order and I did a re order plus added a few items.

        • @llama:

Please note that I was NOT making a suggestion of what DisabledUser should actually do.

  • what if i sell a brick to my wife for $2000 and use the discount code? and then she sells it back to me for $2000 and i use the discount code.

ebay fees are around 10% right? so we come out 5% ahead each transaction?

    • Well you could risk it, but if they catch you they will probably charge you with fraud. $100 or possible criminal charges…hard to say

    • +5

      A brick for $2000! Link?

    • +2% paypal fee

      • +2

        2.4% + $0.30 Fee

        • Thanks for the correction Turd!

    • If you don't come out on top, she's gonna hit you with the brick.

Are you willing to take that risk?

    • Uh.. no. Fees are almost 26% for two transactions.

  • Just bought this for $109 free deliv

  • Didn't seem to work for me, does it work for international items? I am trying to buy a water pump for a vehicle

    • It didn't work for me when I tried to buy 4 car parts in one checkout from different sellers all in the UK, all in GBP. The coupon applied a discount but after paying ebay was supposedly waiting for the payment to process. Then 40min later the purchase failed and the amounts were refunded in PayPal.

Tried the same items with different eBay and PayPal account and the result was the same.

      • Reads the T&C

Excludes Services (316), Cars, Bikes, Boats (9800), Tickets, Travel (11,730) and Gift Cards (172,009).

        • Which T&C did you read? Car parts, not cars.

Car, Bikes, Boats (9800) does not contain any of the items I was trying to buy.

Vehicle Parts & Accessories (131,090) is the category from which I was trying to purchase items.

  • -2

why don't we just wait for 20% off ..

    • 20% off often limited to some stores :)

  • If only the GoPro Karma and Hero 5 were released and on sale already.

  • I see the iPhone 7 plus is now about 15 per cent above the Apple Store prices on buy it now. Just shows what a farce this is on hot items.

  • So.. Huawei P9 or 6P?

  • Can you purchase $2k of items from multiple vendors, so long as its all in a single cart and checked out at once? Or it is just single vendor?

    • Single cart

    • Multiple items may be purchased in one transaction (up to a maximum of 10 items per transaction).

  • Will this code apply ontop of a seller discounted listing?

    • +1

      Yes

    • +1

Yes should do, you can test it in your cart before purchasing.

I purchased some items from a seller in the past that had a discount if you purchased $x and the codes would stack on top of the normal eBay discount.

      • That worked. Bargain!

  • +1

looking for some drives for dual disk NAS if anyone comes across any ta.

  • Why cant i combine items sold by international sellers in USD and items in AUD?

    • Because it treats it as 2 transactions when you pay. You gotta pay in one lump sum, either AUD basket or USD basket

  • Does it apply to goodguys? somehow the cart seems to be showing and error when i proceed to checkout… did anyone else have this issue?

    • I'm getting an error too, and I have goodguys stuff as part of my cart. Haven't entered the code yet.

    • +1

Workaround - tell ebay you want delivery from TGG until you're at the checkout stage. Then change to C&C.

  • +3

Has anyone bought a DJI Phantom 3 Standard from DWI? I can get one for an insanely good $555 with this code. Can't remember it being cheaper at anytime.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BRAND-NEW-DJI-PHANTOM-3-STANDARD-…

    • yeah might be the cheapest price yet, good find!

jute note Gopro going to announce their Karma drone tonight/early morning. Doubt be cheap as this though.

  • Hopefully the code is working correctly, not like the last time that some of us need to go through the pain to wait for the $50 refund.

    • Like all eBay codes, you key it in and test it BEFORE YOU PAY.

So, if it doesn't work, you don't continue past that point.

      • At the time of key it in, it worked, but when you press PAY, suddenly only 1 item deducted and the other items were not even paid.

        • Are you saying that is what is happening NOW, or what you fear might happen?

I fear that I will get struck by a comet as I walk to my car tonight.

At the time of key it in, it worked, but when you press PAY, suddenly only 1 item deducted and the other items were not even paid.

If that happened, then you wouldn't continue with the payment would you? You would look at the confirm payment screen and go "nope, that's not correct", so you would cancel out.

        • @llama: Hi mate, please refer to previous issue where some of us having issue with the $50 credit: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/254873?page=6#comment
It is too late to do anything else even though the review prior to pay is correctly stated with discount price. And please also refer to the last page of this deal as one person has possible similar issue.

I was referring to previous cases and may or may not be happening in this ocassion.

  • Ugh, OzBargain you make me poor! Just purchased a Nuna Leaf baby bouncer from 'ThePharmacy'. I hope it arrives as it should - some online reviews for the Pharmacy online aren't too flattering with regards to their delivery service…

    • +2

I've had really good customer service from ThePharmacy when I bought a baby monitor there. Would recommend

      • Good to know, that makes me feel better!

You should use whichever one is the best for you.

  • This really ticked me off….. purchased something on ebay for 250 yesterday and this deal comes up…. HATE IT WHEN THIS HAPPENS

    HACK TO MAKE $300.
have a mate apply for the free listing and final value fee offer
Have him list a paper clip at $2000 buy it now.
Buy it on your account and apply discount.
So technically you have sent him $1700 but he get $2000 deposited into PayPal - 3% PayPal. FEE
    FLAWLESS.
Warning do not use same device/ip address/computer or even similar town as both accounts or you WILL BE PERMANENTLY BANNED

    • +1

yeah plus ebay fee is like 5% you cant make 300 with that

      • No you can get free listings and final value fees this month.

      • +1

        9.9% isnt it?

        • Not if you got the free listing offer

    • No wonder the fees are so high and getting higher. And these discount coupons are getting lower / fewer stores participating. People with ideas like yours scamming the system f**king it up for the honest folk who try and sell their odds and ends on eBay.

  • +1

I guess I'll pull the trigger on some WD 8TB Red drives.

    • Link please?

      • +1

        I went with,
        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Western-Digital-WD-Caviar-Red-8TB…

If that isnt for you, search "Western Digital Red 8TB". Then when the search results come up, above them will be a link that says "Search for this with the sale" or something. Click that and take a look. The ones I picked were the cheapest, and Shopping Express had good feedback it seems.

        • +1

          Thanks!

    • +1

You can get two delivered from Amazon for $770… including an enclosure. AU power cord.

      My Book Duo 16tb.

And it was $670 on Amazon.de recently

      • Damn, would have saved me $100 or so, and thrown in the enclosure. Alas!

        • +1

Yeah I figured it might be too late to help you, but hopefully it helps others.

  • -5

If anybody sees a good deal on a samsung s7 please let us know!

    • +6

      Try SEARCHING EBAY.

(It stuns me how lazy people are here)

      • +1

        why are you salty? lol

        • Balls

        • @Turd:

          ROFL - oh, yeah!

But seriously, it shits me that people won't go and search. Some things are hard to find (say the best comparative value for various laptops), so opinions can be very helpful

However when you know exactly what you want (eg: Samsung S7) it's infinitely quicker to type the search term into Ebay than it is to post a question here.

  • is auction bid allowed for this code?

    • +1

      No, not for Auction Bids.

However you can apply the code when you PAY.

  • Guys, can you suggest any reliable seller for mobile phones on ebay? i'm after new galaxy s6.
Reliable for warranty + tax invoice and local stock.
    thanks.

    • +4

I'd stay away from the S6 model, poor battery and design overall. Go for the S7, I have a mate that works for Optus and they don't even have the S6 on display in their stores as it was a dud model, he also said they rarely have any stock because it doesn't sell. Get the S7, you'll be happy with the change.

As a consumer of the iPhone 5 then Galaxy S5 then S6 then S7, I would say the S6, in my opinion is the worst out of the phones I had.

      • Thanks mate.
S7 is bit out of my budget…. I might go for Huawei P9
I'm looking at mobileciti - not sure quality deals are good enough

  • Anyone spotted the Apple Watch Sports that is $279 in JB, Myer and Apple?

    • -1

Yes, I've spotted them. You can use Google Images if you haven't seen one yourself.

Personally, I don't like the design much.

  • won a bidding for a phantom 4 last night, glad I didn't pay until this morning. oooooh yeah

    • What did you pay?

      • 1800 w/ 3 batteries

        • Nice managed to get one for $1700 with one battery few months back 👌👍
