Muslim arts and films??? Didn't know such a thing existed. Photographic depictions are banned in Islam.
There's more to 'Art' than the figurative variety…
Also, the Qur'an itself doesn't deal with the arts (ideological/attitude towards, or practical-requiring/suggesting forms of expression).
Everything you see / hear about banning of depictions, figurative art, injunctions against making religious images, came about later as a collection of traditions, recorded by followers.
You see the same in Christianity with the 16th century Protestantism movement, where all forms of art were stripped from churches throughout northern Europe (statues removed, walls painted over, etc.)

I went to order a couple of tickets when I realized the exhibition is on on Saturday only. Im not much of a footy fan but I do watch this one game each year. Shame. We did visit the Islamic arts museum when we were in KL last year and thought it was terrific. Thx OP

I will only attend this "festival" if and when a free Australian Arts and Film Festival is actively promoted in a predominantly Muslim state where at least 41 (half the number of positive deal votes to now) members of the Muslim community openly support such an event.
Until that time, this is not a deal for me.
