Turns out there isn't a minimum spend of $50 for that store credit deal, so you can apply it to this and get it for $23, but if for whatever reason that is no longer the case / they closed that loop in the last week or so, there are plenty of things for a dollar or two that you can add to get it over $50.

IMO - If you are running a 5ghz Wifi and have a good internet connection. Absolutely.
5ghz is faster but doesn't travel as well through walls… I think.

I don't understand their criteria of sending vouchers. I signed up 2 different accounts with 2 different phone numbers. I received the 1st and 2nd catalogue on both accounts but never received the $25 voucher, neither through email or through SMS.

Out of curiosity, is it the same as the chromecast 1 where the lack of an internet connection basically kills it? Our net connection has dropped occasionally for a few hours which rendered the thing essentially useless.
