I also had a MYER (Spend $150 or more, get $35 back) and also FIRST CHOICE LIQUOR (Spend $150 or more, get $30 back)

    • +3

Those have been added. Thank you.

  • +2

    So Many!

    • +11

Such a great deal I just had an Ozbargasm

      • can't believe I haven't come across that one yet! nice one :)

      • +1

So Many! Must be multiple Ozbargasm!

  • +1

Wow, thanks! Btw, you don't sleep during night? :)

  • +2

Why are so many ozbargainers up this time of night?

    • +5

I'm not up, just sleep reading, wouldn't remember posting this in the morning

  • +2

There will be huge queues at Westfield Gift Card desks.

    • +20

      Westfield Gift Cards: https://www.westfieldgiftcards.com.au/Online/Information/Abo…

Westfield Gift Card: $2.95 service fee = $77.95 for $100 gift card (22% off), can be used in most Westfield stores.
Westfield XS Gift Card: $4.95 service fee = $79.95 for $100 gift card (20% off), can be used anywhere Eftpos is used.

      • With XS Gift Card, it's like "Visa Debit" card then? Can buy money order at AusPost or something? Thanks

        • The XS Gift Card appears to only work at EFTPOS machines and isn't a VISA/MC Gift card as such

        • +3

There also appears to be a $5.95 delivery fee for ordering the giftcards online from https://www.westfieldgiftcards.com.au/

        • +1

@grimace3: there is an option of buying the giftcard in store to avoid the delivery fee

        • +4

@kolorijo: Which is great if you are near a Westfield but many are not.

        • +1

          @grimace3:
I doubt you will never receive credit from Westfield offer. If you read the terms in PDF, it is saying:

transactions where you buy a gift card, store credit or a voucher.

LOL, anyhow I will buy. Like the Harvey one saying excluded Apple products, I bought that too.

        • @zesty: Did you get the AMEX credit for Apple product ?

        • @AG1304x:
$100 credit is on my online transaction list now :)

      • Is xs eligible?

        • +1

Also would like to know this.

  • +1

Oh man, I have been spending way too much with my amexes (harvey norman, shop small), and now this!!!!

You can buy coles/myers gift cards at myers…

    • +1

"have been spending way too much with my amexes"

      That's what Amex wanted…

    • Ignore this

    • +1

      Good Intel!

"You can buy coles/myers gift cards at myers…"

    • The terms of MYER offer are unclear about gift card purchases.

The summary terms state "Excludes online gift card purchases" (emphasis mine) but the full terms PDF says "transactions where you buy a gift card, store credit or a voucher" are excluded.

      • +2

I've just bought a $150 gift card using apple wallet pay. Received two emails confirming statement credit of $36 and &10

        • Do you mean $35 or $36 ? And did you get both the $10 credit in same transaction ?

        • @AG1304x: sorry. I mean 35. Yes got both in one transaction.

        • @bluedufflecoat: Thanks for the clarification.. The term says "Excludes transactions where you do not spend directly at Myer. For example purchases made through a third party payment processor like PayPal. " So I thought Apple Pay is third party processor

        • Can we buy Coles gift card at Myer and receive above two credits?

        • @virhlpool: worked when I used my amex during the vogue fashion night at Myers and David Jones.

      • +1

As with previous amex offers, they won't know what you have spent at said store.
        You will get cash back.

If you read the recent Harvey Norman amex offer, staff have been telling customers they won't receive cash back from gift card purchases.
However this is NOT true as Amex won't know what ppl have been buying at Harvey Norman.

  • Thanks for the post OP appreciate the effort!

  • Hmm. If a Myers is inside a Westfield, would they accept the Westfield giftcard too? So 250 at Myers for 60 back?

    • in my experience coles myers group is usually exculded as well as the woolies group but i think its a bit of a luck of the draw

      • +1

Coles has been rejecting the acceptable of the Westifeld cards for years due to their own Gift Cards. However they have finally come around to the benefits of having the cards being accepted at their terminals.

Same was for Woolies and Myer years ago. Now they are one of the top places of people redeeming their Westfield gift cards.

    • +9

From the Westfield Gift Card FAQ, the response to which stores accept the gift card:

The Westfield Gift Card is accepted at over 8,000 participating retailers within Westfield centres Australia wide. Participating retailers include Myer, Coles, Woolworths Group, David Jones, Target, Kmart, JB Hi Fi and Rebel Sport.

    • +1

Yes. DJs attached to Westfields also accept the Westfield Gift Card.

Thanks OP! Myer, Westfield, Body Shop and Dymocks, here I come!

    • +7

I recently tried to use a $500 Westfield XS Eftpos Gift card at Myer and they were trying to reject it, stating that Myer wouldn't get the monies transferred over from Westfield?!

Went to the Westfield Concierge who escalated to Management and they confirmed that Myer DO accept these cards and the staff obviously weren't trained.

So yes - Myer have to accept them also.

      • probably a rookie staff member who was scared that it was a fraudulent card?

        • +2

you dont need to tell them what card is that, just tell them "efpos" = done….

  • -1

Time to get those extra card applications in!

  • +2

Not another one~!!!. Amex is going to blow holes into our entire family wallets~~!!!!!!!..

  • +5

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas

♫ ♬ Buying gift cards for so many stores
But the trickiest part to be

      By getting to Westfield's doors. ♫ ♬

  • Some awesome deals Amex !

  • Does buying the Westfield gift cards online trigger the credit?

    • "Westfield Gift Cards in-store or online"

  • I read that it does

  • Dammit Westfield giftcard not accepted at HN :(

      • I was hoping for the Westfirld store giftcard which gives you an extra 2% discount.

      • +3

If the retailer chooses to accept it. I've tried using a couple of XS cards at two different Officeworks locations in the last few months but it wouldn't work. Ask for EFTPOS, slide card, choose savings, enter PIN… Payment with the XS card at OW was accepted last year though.

        • +1

Tried to use an XS card at Officeworks yesterday and similarly it did not work. Must be something about their EFTPOS system I guess.

    • XS card will.

    • Yes, they do. I uses a Westfield gift card at HN Bondi Junction last week.

    • Fontaingate victoria HN accepts westfield cards as HN inside the shopping centre

  • Thanks for the links…

The number of these promos is getting hard to keep up with :)

  • Can Westfield Gift Cards be used to purchase other Gift Cards at Coles?

Looking to grab some JB Hi-Fi cards at 10% off from this deal.

Searched around and couldn't find anything. I know the Coles in my Westfield accepts the Westfield Gift Cards though.

  • +1

Can I load $97.05 on a Westfield Gift Card? FAQ says "any value between $10 and $995"
    $97.05 + $2.95 service fee = $100 this would trigger the AMEX $25 credit - right?

    • +1

Wouldn't you want to do it at the counter using Apple or Android Pay to trigger the extra $10 cashback?

      • How does that work?
If I use apple/android pay, wouldn't that be ineligible for this amex offer?

        • +1

Please read what OP has written

        • Check the mobile wallets offer: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/279026

        • Has anyone successfully stacked this with the Mobile Wallet? Cos I just bought a Westfield Gift Card with Apple Pay and only got an email for the $10 mobile credit, not the $25 Westfield one…

    • Does Westfield accept Apple Pay or Android Pay?

      • +1

        yes at Chatswood and Hornsby.

        • Thank you.

    • -1

      ($25-$2.95) / $97.05 = 0.2205

      ($25-$2.95) / $100 = 0.227

You save 0.65% (less than $1)

  • +3

    Thanks forumninja, much appreciated brother!

  • Thanks

  • +2

Hopefully we can pay for 1 Westfield gift card using multiple cards to avoid paying service fee multiple times. For example $500 gift card paid by 5 amex $100 each

    • No can't be done

      • Why can't we pay with multiple cards to save on the service fee?

        • +2

          Because the conceirge said so

        • +2

Because Frank Lowy is a professional. Westfield gift cards are the least flexible when it comes to expiring cards. Only valid for 12 months and they don't issue a new one when it expires or is in the last month. Do they even offer grace periods for expired cards?

Back when they weren't accepted at Coles I had a hard time spending an ordinary Westfield card which was actually a gift, lol. Anyhow, I didn't to make a purchase for the sake of making one but luckily Bing Lee accepted them as payment for their own gift cards which have no expiry.

        • +1

@feihong: Which westfield did you go to? Maybe not every concierge so unhelpful?

        • @yoyo6: Give it a try and let us know. I have tried Doncaster and Knox before.

        • @feihong:
I was going to try southland.

        • -2

          They make it pretty clear

          https://www.westfieldgiftcards.com.au/Online/Information/Abo…
          "Service Fee applicable per card"

        • @lamprey:
I just want one card for $800 and pay for it with my 8 amex cards. I was going to get the XS and just want to pay one service fee

        • @yoyo6:
let us know if this work!

        • @feihong: went to knox today and the young lady checked my ID and the name on the card. And no split payment. She was aware of the amex offer and wasnt so pleased with it.

        • +11

I never understand why retailers don't like people using the AmEx promos. If you don't want people to spend money at your store, don't fricken partner with AmEx on promos in the first place!

        • @cynix: Aussie workers having to do "EXTRA" work when shit like this happens. They cant bludge and must "DO" work.

        • @Turd: haha i was just buying one $100 gift card though. But its kinda true

        • @cynix: tell me about it!

        • @yoyo6: They don't allow split payment and will check ID for a "large" purchase.

        • +1

          @tyvod: Miserable (profanity) she was

        • Just did it at Geelong Westfield concierge (19 Dec 2016). Bought a $200 XS gift card for $204.95 split across two AmEx cards and got the emails for both within 30 seconds. No ID showing necessary (but then again I was in my suit).

        • @danielh: can also confirm that I got my $25 credit for the XS gift card.

      • +2

Success at Westfield Sydney. $400 XS card split over 4 cards.

    • +4

Yes you can, I just went to Westfield Sydney and bought a $500 Westfield XS gift card using five different cards.

      • +1

Awesome :) Did you get emails from AMEX to acknowledge the 5 transactions & statement credits "coming soon" ?

        • +1

Nah I got none but based on reports from previous deals I should get the credit nonetheless. Fingers crossed.
