  • Postage approx 6.76 to parramatta

    • with the samsung, kept checking page for 3-4 hours and netted nothing… i hope the site's improved this time round.

  • Same to Auburn area but ~$66 for 1tb is quite cheap. Got one yay!! Took 6 tries for some reason once I logged in to paypal and continue back to pricesengine I kept getting a session expired page. Looks like there are still some bugs to work out.

    • Sold out already?

People must be camping the checkout button

This again went so quick ….

What does this tell you minniewu?

The people are like the HDD deals you are putting up!!!!!

      Keep the masses happy!!! :-P

    • Yeah I had the same problem the other day. The site can get a little flaky but works in the end.
I'm loving these guys, wish they'd chuck a bargain SSD back on though.

  • sold out already ?

  • There website sucks and randomly go's between 1 stock and sold out. Just keep refreshing.

    • I did that after it said 'sold out' and bought one.

    • +1

The 1 does not indicate stock

It is how many you want to order.

I originally thought it was the stock level too

  • +1

Wow….it's a matter of time when 2tb is coming around the $100 mark. Will wait a little bit longer for that to happen. Have too many 500gb hd around and don't want to have the same thing to happen for 1tb.

  • seriously cheap, but never heard of them…

  • omgggg sold out in 12min

  • dammit!!!!!!! sold out!!

    • Varies back and forth. I just got one. Keep refreshing.

  • I got my Samsung drive today ,Verry Happy thanks

    • I am still waiting for mine. ps, I'm in Sydney

  • -1

I'm not liking this site, seems dodgy…

under 87 clicks and sold out

I did have a chance to buy it but decided not to cos I don't need another 1tb drive but it clearly shows they maybe have 50ish in stock

    • 87 clicks via ozbargain i assume you mean. they did twitter the deal, so it wasn't exclusive to OzB.

    • +1

It's because, if some of customer click on check out but not confirm the order. our system will reserve the HDD for them at least about 10min.

So that's why we have to update the quantity every time.

  • had one, then clicked paypal, then clicked back to check shipping and then lost it! what gives?

    • one appeared during my f5 sessions and quickly logged into paypal, confirmed details and clicked okay to everything… got back to priceengine with a 'Ooops! Session expired…. Please check your paypal account or contact customer service. [email protected]'

the paypal bit only took less than 30seconds to complete and yet it expired? this is getting fustrating. will eventually neg if this keeps happening

      • another appeared while f5'ing while typing the previous post… quickly entered all details and just clicked blindly through paypal to beat the timeout and finally got to confirm and BINGO - 'Thank you purchase payment confirmed. thank you for shopping with us…'

HDD Samsung (last week deal) vs Seagate (current deal), which one is better you guys think?

    • -1

      Definitely Seagate

      • +4

Definately Samsung F3 Drive, Heaps faster

        • The seagate being more reliable, whereas the samsung faster

      • +1

Debatable. The Samsung F3's are seriously fast, and were cheaper too.

    • +9

      Samsung

see how many votes i get

  • just wondering, is the an external HDD? or is it for desktop?

  • MOD please change the title to sold out please!

    • But they're not sold out.

      • yes they are sold out!

        • still there!

  • I held off updating as people were claiming they still got one.
Note it is a 3.5" desktop internal drive.

  • I believe we are still put some more on our site.

    • when…..

    • NO I’m not gonna fall for that, it will be back up at 2pm crap and we have server issues anymore!

      Neither should any other ozbargainer!

Sure they are good prices but compared to say logitechshop who doesn’t get sold out until well over thousands of clicks shows they are baiting with cheap prices to get hits on the site!

      • You cant compare the 2, one is delivered almost next day from pricesearchengine, LTS you wait weeks if not months and you fight like hell to get it there is anything strange with delivery.

Lets compare them on what they offer instead of what one doesnt have touche

        Totally different types of business

        • Maybe because LTS have to process literally thousands of orders?

So you're telling me you prefer no stock over slightly longer delivery time?

  • PricesEngine - could you not hold off on publishing the deal til 1PM so people who visit your website get the deal first without being told no stock? :)

  • -4

Shipping calculator on front page doesn't work - sells out while trying to find out shipping.

    FAIL - FAIL - FAIL - FAIL - FAIL - FAIL - FAIL - FAIL - FAIL

    • Let me check with our IT department. sorry for the wait.

    • +2

I think the problem is u…

      • Tried to get data in Firefox and internet explorer - any other suggestions?

        • +2

Use the number keys on the top of keyboard. The numpad keys won't work.

          • @FloatingPoint: Thank you nbn - It is so long since I have had to do this I didn't even think to check for a basic page applet design failure like this :)

  • lol too quick, I shall now camp at the website every day at 12pm. Now to set up a daily reminder.

minniewu, perhaps you should review the level of stock you have for sell in future deals. Obviously, you are making a profit on these sales, and it would be rational for you to maximize your profit by meeting the demand out there.

    Keep it up though.

    • +1

Because if you guys click on the checkout but not confirm the order, our system will make that sold.

And there are about 400 people get in to confirm page but not confirm the order. So we have to keep update the stock.

That it's the reason why our system will showing sold out.

  • got one! i kept hitting refresh and it was still sold out so i just opened another page and it was up. try that out if your still after one

  • Whoever changed the title to sold out, it is still not sold out…I don't get what is with people making there own broken websites when there are perfectly working free shopping carts around.

  • Guys,

We have lot of people login to PayPal and return back to our site without confirm the order.

This action will reserve the stock cause our system showing the product it's sold out.

If you are not plan to buy, Please give the chance to other people who want to buy.

    Thanks

    • +1

u should make it so if order is not confirmed within 5 minutes it gets put back in the queue. 5 minutes should be enough for even the oldest man to check in and out of paypal.

    • Perhaps this may be the only way to find out shipping ??? A nice simple drop down list would be a good idea and not browser sensitive like the current front page shipping calculator appears to be.

  • Not sold out yet…

  • I see stock? I clicked buy and it redirected to Paypal, so I assume I could have bought one.

    • you could have. But now someone else who wanted to buy one will have to sit there and wait for the product you just reserved to get released and put back on the stock list.

      • … put back … manually.

    • not yet.

You have to confirm the order on our confirm page.

  • +1

    Bloody session expired. Grr.

  • +4

You guys do know that all of you sitting there hitting F5 like crazy mofos is probably why the site gets flakey? It's like a Denial of Service attack, but from people that actually want the site to stay up.

    • So true!

    • Shhh aww you had to let the cat out of the bag :)

    • I din't have to F5.. lucky…

  • Stock still there.

    Got one.

Purchase payment confirmed. Thank you for shopping with us…

    $6.76 ship to Botany

  • There is about 500 people they get in to confirm page but still not hit the confirm button.

We will have to count the stock and put it back again later.

  • Got one.

@minniewu: is it possible to combine shipping or will it be $10 per drive and come in several packages?

    • Dont be a hog. Others can't even put in an order.

    • You have to email to our customer service, they will answer this question for you.

    • Why would they want to ship each drive you order individually?
It is much more cost effective to combine them into one box.

  • Tempted but personally only really save about $13 compared to heading down to centrecom or MSY and buying in person (plus have a bit more security in case of a DOA), be nice if you could buy more than 1 to spread the shipping cost.

    • +1
Agree about buying more than 1 as I really wanted 2 or maybe 3 of them.
      -1
The price is good. Saving (close to) 20% off MSY's $82 price (and $81 at centrecom) is always good.

  • +3

    great job minniewu !!
as with many other customers my earlier samsung order wasn't completed and processed until i had verified with Paypal .. and PriceEngine still honoured the original price that was quoted.
I think that is both an extremely honourable stance, and also a great business practice.
I, for one, can overlook any teething problems with your website as you are a true Value company and a real competitor to the online sales community.

    • +1

      Thanks for your comment.

  • got one.. awesome, got one last time too.. :)

  • got it.great.

    Just missed out :(

  • -1

Guys we going count the stock first and re-lunch the deal again about 4pm.

Because there is about 500+ people they still not hit the confirm button, We have to confirm the how many stock we have right now.

And I would like to go for lunch. Can you guys give me a lunch break?

I will be back once we have finish the counting.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    • +4

Maybe you should start new deals each day at 2pm instead of the current 12pm. That way you can have lunch before hand?

Having said that, I am off to lunch myself now. :)

    • Great one, enjoy your lunch :)
Hoping it's not sold out again by 4.01pm :(

    • -3

This is like a joke. Have you ever heard about something call "time-out"? I can't believe that your shopping cart software can't handle such a simplest stock management requirement.

You and your IT team should be fired, you need to do write a proper shopping cart system before even bother to sell things online. This is the first time I heard that someone has to check stock and update it manually for a online shopping site because the customer hasn't click Pay yet.

      • No one is forcing you to use their service. If you don't like their shopping cart system, buy somewhere else.

This is also one of the few sites I have found where you don't need an account with their site to purchase items. It merely gets funnelled through PayPal. I imagine that's why the restocking process is, shall we say, a little clumsy. But, I for one commend them for their innovation in not requiring an account with their site to purchase.

  • Here we go again

    • Please don't disappointed. Every one have to get a lunch right, me too.

We have change our server last weekend, so please don't worry about the traffic this time.

We have about 200 people online at the same time now. the site still on.

      Please don't worry.

      • Hope your back from lunch minnie.

Just have a quick question as I didnt get an email response when i emailed the service desk email.
Seeing your quite active here, can you tell me if this is the 7200.12 model?

Cheers, keep up the good work, cant wait till i get my cpu from yesterdays sales.

        • Pssst model number is included in the description so not to hard to find the info.
And to make it even easier they even included a link to the model on seagate's website

          Yes it is a 7200.12

          • @gilmour: I believe the both websites DO NOT differentiate between 7200.11 or 7200.12 as they share the same page/link.

Thanks for your response, however are you positive its 7200.12 and that they are not just getting rid off the 7200.11s???

  • +1

Give them a chance to have some lunch…

Atleast it's good that they are giving us a heads up that they will be counting stock and possibly restocking at about 4pm…

Seems they have learnt from the last time and is calmly improving their service.

Keep up the good deals and service PricesEngine…

    • +2

exactly.not many other places are active in their customer service especially in discussions on bargain websites. remember the problems of COTD and other sites like that?
these guys are obviously small compared to MSY and the like and their prices are really cheap. take it if you can, but if you miss out just wait for the next awesome cheap product.

  • They're not dodgy, i bought one of priceengines monitors and it was A+ ok :)
