    • What does that mean? Mine says seller account is suspended

    • What the f.. feeling a little scared now.

    • Yep I just noticed that too.. I'm thinking maybe it's because of all the feedback eBay may have received (about people orders not being updated etc) and eBay has pulled their account? If that happens.

  • I also saw "This user is no longer registered on eBay." Anyone has idea how to claim back money if the seller is really scammer. I'm not able to open dispute via paypal. Thanks.

    • +1

Holy moly you guys have an explosive reaction.
CHECK THE FEEDBACK BEFORE YOU GRAB YOUR GODDAMN PITCHFORKS.
      Feedback HERE

It's from impatient people. They start negging, because Giftcardstore_au has very little feedback, their account gets automatically suspended, they didn't have a positive feedback buffer.
It doesn't help that people here are undoubtedly going to join in on the negging, causing it to drop even further.

Guys. It's most likely sent by Auspost, there's your culprit.
There's positive feedback that says people have received it.
      Be patient and stop raging

  • Mine is listed as Paid (not Sent) but the seller hasn't contacted me and when I click my purchase it says "Listing not found"… :(

  • Phuk they better send me my phukin gift card or else we're gonna revolt.

  • Hmmmmmm just noticed this series of events - hard to believe a decent sized company didn't think things through a LOT better - major bad PR!

So before I look into how to arrange a chargeback on my CC (which might be the only solution to a scam) is anyone actually receiving the cards or not? My sale was 05NOV and as of today 14NOV nothing received on 2 x $100 cards.

Pretty shithouse that a rep from this co has not posted up on here (they'd be well and truly aware of the thread) - a lot of very pissed off customers I'd imagine.

This is the biggest scam of all time, they literally sold over 400 of these things, I haven't received mine. I've just contacted Ebay about it as they were promoting the offer on there home page. This is likely a matter for VCAT if this can't be resolved.

    • +1

literally sold over 400 of these things

They sold way more than 400 cards…

  • -1

They sold more than 10,000 David Jones $50 gift cards. Half a million dollar from that alone.

  • This on my eBay order summary:

"We had to remove this listing from the site and you're not required to complete the transaction. If you've already sent payment, the sale should process as normal and you don't have anything to worry about. If you have any questions about delivery, please check tracking or contact your seller. If you run into any trouble along the way eBay is here to help. Please visit the Resolution Centre to help resolve any problems you may encounter."

    • Yes but if you've sent money (like I have) and you go to the resolution centre it says you're not covered because the item was listed in the Real Estate section…WTF???

      • I already paid as well. Just hoping it really is just an underestimation by them on the demand and we will all get our cards.
Still not happy about the cash advance fee issue though. That seems dodgy business practice which is just adding to this debacle.

This is the last thing to have to worry about days out from xmas, don't want to buy replacement gift cards only to have these show up in the mail…

It took me a while to find this page again just to see what was going on…

I don't understand this part in ebay "If you've already sent payment, the sale should process as normal and you don't have anything to worry about."

Will we be refunded automatically or do we have to jump through hoops?

    • You should receive the gift card.
      Just be patient dude.
If you want to chuck your pitchfork at someone, do it at Auspost

This is the email I've received from them after emailing.

We understand you may be concerned as the status of your ebay account has not been updated. Due to the large volume of orders received we are experiencing some delays however are confident we will dispatch your order very soon. We will update your ebay account as soon as you order is shipped.

You may have seen some negative feedback on our store which has resulted in our account being temporarily suspended overnight – however ebay is helping us overcome this issue so we can continue to update purchasers as their orders are shipped. Blackhawk, the company behind the Gift Card Store, is a reputable business that distributes gift cards to Australia’s leading retailers – so you can have complete confidence this promotion was not a scam, but just a great deal J

We are confident you will be able to enjoy this gift in time for Christmas.

Really dude. You shouldn't pick up a pitchfork so quickly next time.

email I've received from them after emailing

They can't respond on ebay thanks to account suspension, and that's because impatient people starting leaving negative feedback

      • +1

Don't know if I am allowed to list email contacts but it was on the "contact seller" in my PayPal transaction.

  • eBay is fixing their account. I just received the "item shipped email"

I have been able to look at the seller again, and view their feedback. Seems people are receiving as they are getting some positives

But I noticed EBAY has removed the bulk of their negative feedback.

How can we have faith in a feedback process if eBay removes legitimate negative feedback. I think that is wrong. They should wait for all the thousands of positives to hit which will negate the few negatives.

    • +1

      easy on the misinformation okay?

yesterday they didn't get "about a dozen feedbacks" they got 7 from 3 unique users.

at the time of your post (today) they have received no new postive feedbacks, at all.

I'm sure this will all resolve itself but making things up helps no one.

      • +1

Sorry, Ill try better next time. "About a dozen" - yeah well I just skimmed the feedback, and sorry I didn't check for unique users. I shall try better next time to meet impeccable standards, rather than try and ease the concerns of many hundreds of people who are anxious, and help them understand that this is obviously a case of a new seller being caught out by unexpected demand. In any case, everything I have posted has been to try and help and inform, as I could see the swell of nervous consumers, and given eBay nor blackhawk wasn't explaining the obvious realities of the situation openely, I though I would try and give people an understanding of what potentially was happening. and of course, I am spot on. (apart from getting 7 vs a dozen, and number of users a little off…………….note to self to sit in the naught corner)

oh no, you're quite au fait with ebay, you didn't miscount 3 as a dozen or "some" as none, you just bumped it up from 3 to 12 to make what you were saying sound better.

          look,

Also noticed that today they received 3 unique feedbacks.

          or

I have been able to look at the seller again, and view their feedback. No people are receiving and they are getting no new positives

When you put the actual facts in what you wrote it sounds silly, in the context of your waffle of course.

I think you're trying to pre empt the situation in an attempt to make yourself appear prescient, which has more to do with yourself then "100's of people"

as I said, I'm sure it will all work out, however I do think a lot of people will miss the cutoff for using the cards for online purchases - perhaps your knowledge could be used to allay those fears too?

    • How can we have faith in a feedback process if eBay removes legitimate negative feedback. I think that is wrong. They should wait for all the thousands of positives to hit which will negate the few negatives.

So because of a few early crocked judges that gave the guilty verdict, we need thousands of "innocent" verdicts before we remove the obviously wrongful criminal convictions..?

        legitimate negative feedback

the feedback wasn't "legitimate", the comments were in violation of ebay feedback policy.

For example, you can't give negative feedback on a delivery because it didn't meet the estimate, so those negs were removed under policy, not some ebay sneakyness.

as far as the ratio thing you're taking about, it's a fairly big part of ebay feedback, it's the system that's in place and right or wrong almost everyone plays to those rules.

        • the feedback wasn't "legitimate", the comments were in violation of ebay feedback policy.

I 100% agree with you! I was quoting Tvsupaguru. His comment suggested the negative feedback was legitimate

  • Just got the sent email from the seller. Eta 12/12

    UPDATE
I finally got my gift cards today guys. As mentioned by someone, looks like they got caught off guard with so many orders and couldnt send them out quick enough.

But not a scam just wait for your order most likely arrive late

    • Was your order updated to shipped or did they show up unannounced?

    • When did you order your gift cards?

      • +3

Ordered 6 Dec and paid for express post. It said shipped only 2 days ago (after the expected delivery date of 12 has gone). Arrived in express post envelope. I bought 4x$100 David Jones card, I thought I've finally been scammed, lucky it wasn't the case.

What I would think is they are just a bunch of people at the office and obviously don't have the man power to handle crapload of orders all of a sudden due to this great promotion on ebay's main page.

        • When i selected express post, they were charging me PER CARD(and i was buying 5 cards) so in the end selected standard postage. Was this the case for you?

        • @godzilla123: Nope only 1 time

  • Update from Gift Card Store/Blackhawk Network:

    • Their store has now been relisted on eBay.
    • They will send a notification out to buyers to let them know.
    • Their warehouse is going through the backlog of orders and is almost caught up.
    • They are getting a huge amount of customer queries but they are replying within 1 day. Feel free to contact them to confirm.
    • They have opened up an OzBargain account and are monitoring this thread.
  • Well maybe I can get some clarification from the seller on here rather than a copy and paste generic reply?
So I ordered bcf gift cards on Monday the 5th. My sister in law also ordered some about an hour after I ordered mine. Hers have been shipped and received, but mine are still in limbo not even marked as shipped? Oh and when I go to purchases on ebay it just say the listing doesn't exist. Doesn't even show it was bcf cards I ordered, just an amount I've paid! How does an order placed around the same time as another manage to be skipped or shoved to the bottom of the pile?

    • mine are still in limbo not even marked as shipped?

Their ebay account got suspended, also I guess they should have marked it as shipped but didn't. Someone got theirs the day after it was marked shipped.

Oh and when I go to purchases on ebay it just say the listing doesn't exist.

It's because the account got suspended from premature negative feedback - thanks to extremely impatient buyers.
This in turn caused widespread panic, people started leaving MORE negative feedback, attempting to file disputes because of the account suspension (activated by negative feedback) and negative feedback (unwarranted). I had a friend that was worried thinking the deal wasn't legit contact me, but it's all going be okay guys.
Let's just wait. Keep the pitchforks in the garage for a few more days!

      • +1

I know it's a legitimate deal but I don't understand how 2 orders done within virtually the same time have more than a week difference in postage. Shouldn't orders be processed first in first served? Like I said sis in law received hers, mine still afk. They should have been sent out the same day as her cards were sent out seeing they are both the same gift card (identical orders) and I ordered before her and you can't say auspost delay because she lives in the next suburb. Today postie has been and still nothing. Again I know it's legitimate but it's a fn joke

  • Just logged a message with their ebay account asking for a tracking number or refund.
Has anyone actually gotten theirs yet?

  • they are showing 24 postive feedback on ebay,i wonder about the other 10,000 plus customers who haven't got theirs yet,me included

    http://feedback.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&u…

  • I got mine today.
    Just came in an envelope.

  • I finally received my BCF cards after 2 weeks. Ordered on 5th Dec.

  • Paid using my 28degrees card, the payment was treated as a cash advance and 28degrees charged $4 for cash advance fee.
Did anyone else have same problem?

  • Got mine today as well. Area code 2131 (Order date: Dec 5th)
I paid for normal postage. No issues with cash advance fees with my CBA credit card.

  • Mine arrived yesterday, 16th. Ordered on 7th with estimated delivery on 14th. Also had to challenge the cash advance fee with my CC provider. Not the best purchasing experience even considering the discount. Would be wary of going through the company again.

  • Hi All,

Is there anyone not in Victoria who purchased the Village Gift card?

Sadly they have no locations in other states where this card can be redeemed. They should have not been part of this promotion. Now purchased I've got one on the way with the realisation that I have no where to redeem it at in NSW. What would be my best approach to address the issue. Contact ebay and say that under the terms and conditions there was no mention in the offer places redemption could be conducted, or contact Village or BlackHawk for a conversion to a comparable card like Event Cinemas?

    Thanks.

    • +1

I'm confused why you think they shouldn't have been part of the promotion?

      • The only reason why I say they shouldn't have been part of the promo was to prevent situations like this happening. It would be silly to sell to customers a product in which they can not use in their own town, sate or country.

It would be like a company selling Target (US) gift cards in Australia. Two unrelated companies with a single name and similar logos.

    • -5

Now purchased I've got one on the way with the realisation that I have no where to redeem it at in NSW.

In other words.. you forgot to check before you purchased

Sadly they have no locations in other states where this card can be redeemed.

      Locations can be found here

They should have not been part of this promotion….under the terms and conditions there was no mention in the offer places redemption could be conducted

      LOL this guy.
Impulse buys a giftcard without checking the locations.
Blames ebay.. for their negligence..in checking location for him?

P.s. You know there WERE Event cinemas gift cards available with the offer right? You could contact Blackhawk and ask if you're able to exchange it, but you aren't "entitled" to one automatically. It was your mistake buddy. No way you can wiggle out of that one.

      • Well I know it is a LOL situation, however for clarification, I did not buy it.

A family member did without prior consultation, they saw it as "Gold Class" movie card, based on that knowledge, "Gold Class" is available at event Cinemas too!

From prior knowledge don't Village and Event Cinemas have some kind of licencing deal or contractual agreement going on there?

        Thanks.

        • +1

So I just recently went through this too and after multiple emails between me Event and Village the conclusion was that it could not be redeemed at Event and I would have to give it to a friend in Vic as it was useless to me. In my case though I was hopping mad as the gift card was purchased locally in a Coles store even though there is not one Village cinema available in the whole state personally I think that's a deceptive fraudulent practice.

        • +1

          @melmac77:
          I'd complain to Coles.

PS I find complaints made via FaceBook message get better results.

        • @melmac77: I hope you get an equivalent replacement. Maybe the facebook way might help.

  • +1

I still haven't received anything and discovered gift cards are NOT covered by ebay/paypal guarantee.

    • Welcome to the club, my friend!

      • I'll be contacting my bank today and reversing the cc charges.

  • Purchased on the 5th, told it would arrive by the 9th, told it was shipped on the 14th (but amusingly still told it would be arriving on the 9th), and now it's the 19th and still no card.

It's a bit annoying, we're out of town for the xmas break and at this weekends pre-christmas gift exchange with family and friends I wasn't able to give the gift I was going to get with the card.

It is satisfying to see their very poor ebay feedback rating though. I was never one of the ones who thought this was a scam, but they definitely dropped the ball trying to fulfill this deal.

    • Oh, and I also got dinged for the cash advance too. What a shemozzle.

      • +1

Oh, also also, whoever is their ebay rep needs to lay off the passive aggressiveness, check out these replies:

Haven't received it 2 days after ETA. Can't track even choose express post. Buyer: s***u
We understand - such a great deal! We'd find it hard to wait too. On their way

HAVEN'T RECEIVED CARD. NO COMMUNICATION OR TRACKING. NO BUYER PROTECTION. Buyer: t***l
We're hurt you didn't enjoy our many emails :( Cards are on their way

I'm sure the rep is having a rough time dealing with all the outrage, working in customer service sucks, especially in a 'emergency' situation like this, but replies like that aren't particularly professional and make me question the legitimacy of the replies that claim the buyer put in the wrong address.

        • Received the card yesterday, spent it all the same day. I would not have bought this had I known about the delay and extra CC charges, even with the discount.

  • just received my giftcards today, hope everyone gets theirs before christmas.

  • +3

Phew….Got my Supercheap Auto gift card today. Postcode 2067.
Note to myself - never ever buy gift card from ebay again - NO BUYER PROTECTION from ebay nor Paypal.

    • When did you buy yours? I bought an SCA giftcard on the 10th and just got a shipping notification today.

      • +1

I brought mine on the 8th, delivery date should be on the 15th. I've never receive any shipping notification from the seller due to the saga.

I am currently sniffing the perfume I bought using the David Jones giftcard from this ebayer.

  • gift card received as of 19/12/2016 for postcode 3072, seller mark as post on 14/12/2016
PS. do i need to activate the gift card to use it? if activation is needed, anyone provide link? as i cant find any instruction or link

    • -1

My rebel card is activated already.

  • Anyone not received yet? I Ordered 5 Davidd Jones, not received yet. Brisbane area. What should I do now?

    • I still haven't received mine. i bet people on here will tell us to wait and be patient. but this is cutting it close to xmas, not too impressed tbh

    • On December 8 I purchased a SuperCheap auto Gift Card. ETA was December 15.
On December 16 it was marked as shipped. In that email it still had an ETA of December 15. (ie. The day before.)

No sign of it yet. I'm in Sydney.

My purchase is visible on eBay until I try to contact the seller. Then it magically disappears. I'll never buy another Gift Card from eBay even if it turns up.

      • +3

        Got mine today. Very relieved.

The envelope wa stamped December 20. I think they lied about posting it on the 16th.

        Negative feedback to come regardless.

    • Ordered on the 5th, they marked it as sent on the 13th (after I complained, it was estimated 12th), finally arrived this morning. I'm in Melbourne, David Jones as well.

      • Luckily I got them yesterday afternoon. So relieved

    • Me too.. I ordered 7 David Jones cards in 2 orders, and I am on the gold coast. (using my po box - where they are doing 2 deliveries a day and Saturday deliveries at the moment) and I am still waiting… It was updated as sent on Thursday last week. I'm starting to get rather pissed..

      • Update - I received my 2 orders on Wednesday 21st on the gold coast.. Ordered on the 5th.. All cards worked this evening when I went shopping at DJ's.. (used them to purchase a dyson hairdrier).

  • -3

Ordered 5 DJs gift cards on the 11th, received all of them on the 13th. The seller apologised for the mass delay in processing the orders, and prioritised my order with an upgrade to express postage. It certainly is the most wonderful time of the year! :D

  • Finally received mine yesterday. Ordered on the 5th, marked as sent 14th (after I contacted them querying the delay as original ETA was the 9th and before I thought of coming back here to check the comments), arrived 20th. Best part is their return address is 2 suburbs away. So over 2 weeks from time of order to deliver 15min away.

  • +1

Mine was marked sent Monday, still hasn't arrived with today's post. It's a Christmas present so if it doesn't come tomorrow then I'm stuffed.

    • I'm in the same boat. Hopefully ours will arrive in the mail tomorrow, otherwise my plan is ruined :(

    • +1

      Arrived today - phew!!!

      • Same haha. I was so hopeful when I walked out to the mailbox at 3pm 😊

  • Marked posted on 13th and still nothing (im in melbourne) :(

  • This is going down to the wire. Marked as posted on the 19th, still not delivered.
Maybe it was posted with extra snails?
