In time for Christmas shopping. 👍🏻

  • +63

Wow thanks saved an extra $2.25 on my $300 spend.

    Advertising?

    • +42

Yeah, TA has a loyal army of Cashrewards referees. Any attempt to downvote the deal will be negged to oblivion.

      • -7

Or those extra few dollars from many purchases can be put together to buy something good. This is OzBargain after all.

        • +19

          Nah it's now Ozreferral

        • +1

@WaywardOne: You do realise that OzBargain itself makes money from those?

        • @Clear: I thought it was just advertising? I think in one of the threads someone asked Scotty about it but he said referrals were too much effort.

        • @ilikeradiohead: Affiliate links are added for users not logged in. The thumbnail usually says Affiliate on it.

      • +1

Not really, just unfounded whinging usually related to the individuals who believe the crazier you act and the bigger tantrum you throw, the faster and more favourable response you'll get. It may work in a department store, but not online.

That's not how business is conducted. That's how a child acts.

    • Not really a bargain however TA has produced some epic bargains in the past so i'll just let it be… every dollar saved is a good thing :)

    • +1

The deals from TA nowadays has lost originality and authencity… the deals no longer have the personal touch, its more or less bulk buy arrangements.

  • That's more like it :)

  • Used to be 2%…

    • +13

      4% actually

  • +1

Goddamn it I just bought a $100 gc earlier today!
Guys its the last day to buy 15% off gift cards!

  • +4

ah damn, was to early. Could have saved another 0.75%

    • +46

an extra $7.50 off a $1000 purchase, not a bargain

      • So if you saw $7.50 in coins scattered on the ground, would you just walk on by because it's not worth picking up?

        • +49

          Sorry buddy,

Just using an over the top scenario of $1000. A lot of people will be buying stuff around $100 and under so is the extra 75c the "bargain"??

        • +1

          @jaypick:
Its better than only being 1.25% though, right?

        • +29

@Jase1: next stop, 2.25% cashback - and the crowd goes wild

        • +2

          @jaypick:

Certainly more is better, but its getting something back than what you would normally get (Sweet FA) if you dont purchase this way

        • +1

So if you saw $7.50 in coins scattered on the ground, would you just walk on by because it's not worth picking up?

i don't know about you, but I don't bend down unless I see the dame.

        • +2

But that would be like 100% deal right? Get $7.50 from floor by spending nothing (of course when no one is looking)….

        • @Gaggy: haha didn't think of that.

      • -4

If you don't think that is worth it, no-ones forcing you to use cash rewards. If you just want 1.25%, there's still pricepal.

        • -2

If you don't think that is worth it, no-ones forcing you to use cash rewards.

I don't use cashrewards or other "cashback" schemes as I've heard of stories of people not receiving the cashback. I'm not giving my personal and shopping information to a company to possibly receive $2 off a $100 purchase.

        • +1

          @jaypick:

I don't use cashrewards or other "cashback" schemes

You do know what everyone else in this like minded community is about though, yeah?

        • +2

Pricepal is still only 1.25% though

        • +6

@jaypick: You do use the internet? Do you realize you are already sharing your shopping habbits, walking habits, driving habits, interests, thoughts, questions etc with Google and other companies?

Whether you like it or not, you're already sharing this information. And don't tell me you're one of "those" people who thinks they're protected because they've tried using a VPN, disabling cookies and switching off your GPS.

This point aside, this is not a thread discussing the "worth" of sharing your data. This is about a 60% increase in cashback should you use Cashrewards.

You're already sharing your data. It's free money. I've had no issues and have saved hundreds over the years.

        • +7

@DrDollar:> This is about a 60% increase in cashback should you use Cashrewards.

That's a hell of a good way to say an extra 75 cents on $100 purchase

        • +3

@jaypick: Do other Cashback sites have better cashback?

        • +6

@jaypick: It's basic maths, and it all adds up over time. This is Ozbargain, remember?

        • @jaypick:
You better not use any sort of flybuys, everyday rewards, or credit cards then. They all collect your personal and shopping information too!
Oh also don't use any airlines, because they know everything about you too!
And then there's the biggest silent big brother of them all..
          GOOGLE
          Damn those corporations!

  • Where's the eBay site wide sale….

    • +3

You missed it, it was last week or the week before.

  • +49

If a $1000 item was sale with a saving of saving $7.50, would the Ozbargain community accept the "bargain" or rip the post to shreds?

    • +1

      Good point.

      • GOOD point

      • Not a good a point as you'd think.

This is for ANY $1000 item on ebay (well, any item on ebay regardless of price), whereas if someone posted a $7.50 off a $1000 item where it was just that one single item that it applies to then of course it would be far less relevant.

this is available to anyone making any purchase on ebay

    • +26

      Depends who posted it ☺

  • +57

This isn't a deal worthy post and should be moved to the forums.

This is more like free advertising for Cashrewards

    • +22

      It's a marketing ploy

    • +31

This is more like free advertising for Cashrewards

      We have a winner!

      • +16

Don't be too vocal or TA will trawl through your post history and neg you… again.

      • scott and the owner of cashreward (dont remember his name and dont care wtf he is) has sort of close relationship, mentioned by Ta himself. as justcallmeboss put, it is a marketing plot, arranged by ozbargain and cashreward. many naive people and those not-that-smart ones forget or never realise that ozb and cashreward are the business for profit. they will do whatever they can to maximise their profit. fortunately and finally someone stands out to expose the bloody fact to those people. Well-done Jackpick! sheeps, remember cashreward and ozbargain are not doing you a favor. you are actually the tools with which they make money for themselves. (sure someone can make money or credit by posting numerous Amaysim deals as a referrer, but it is another story).

        • +1

So why do you post deals then?

        • +6

Oh no, surprise! ozb, Cashrewards and every other business out there are trying to make money! Who knew? Perhaps it's time to stop buying goods and services off businesses, stop watching free to air TV because of the ads etc and live in some remote cave. Personally, I see dealing with businesses that are trying to make money as win win.

        • +3

Give me a break. People are well aware that Ozbargain and Cashrewards both make a profit from people using their products, but we all use them because we benefit from them. That doesn't make people "sheep", that just means these companies are making something that is valuable for many people.

        • +2

People use CR….. they now get a fraction more of a cash back on eBay purchases and CR may increase their customer base from whom they obviously make money from because…. well, that's what businesses do - this makes you upset? All the other accusations are just that, accusations. Without proof you are just making yourself look like a damn fool.

  • +39

0.75% discount is not a bargain. If there was an Apple sale and they offered a 0.75% discount would you + vote it? If you went to McDonald's and they gave you a 0.75% discount would you publicise it? The answer is of course NO. Hence I am negging this 'deal'.

If the 0.75% discount is on a home loan, then I would reconsider.

    • It's a bargain for cashback if the rate is better than other cashback sites.

      • +3

ya just like its a bargain for dan murphys to undercut by 1$. huge bargain bro

  • +43

Not gonna neg, but this isn't great. I think if someone like me posted it, it'd be lucky to get 10 up votes.

    • +5

I give you 0.75 of a vote for your honesty. Lucky it rounds up.

      • No… it's .75%…. which is rounded down.

    • 10 votes? Mate your deal would have scraped to Forums or would have got negs only. Wanna see the proof?

  • -3

Leave ta alone all you people just want is more more and more

    • +3

      EXACTLY!

  • +49

0.75% not a bargain. Sorry guys, this is just free advertising.

  • +3

let the censorship of votes begin

  • +2

    Not happy with cash rewards

  • +4

Concur with others above, simply not a bargain. A mild saving perhaps, but ain't no bargain.

    • While your comment is true, there are so many things that have been permitted here in a similar vein; free brochures mailed out; things that aren't a real bargain but are the cheapest at that point in time, or minor savings or even similar promotions like this one.

  • +3

Isn't this kind of like 5% vs 5.5% wish gift cards?

    • +1

      exactly same.

    • +3

Yes, and that's not a bargain either

    • Yep, this is exactly the same. Rinse and repeat from CR.

I made a comment about it in a previous deal on the wish cards, people didn't like me pointing out the maths of it so got negged. Not surprising on here nowadays.

  • +7

Not all 'bargains' are worth posting. This is one of them.

  • +28

I love your deals non CR deals TA they are always fantastic but I got to say these minor bumps of percentage for 1-2 days are simply not in the spirit of this site. Seriously 1% increase for 24 hours! I spend $100 and if I'm lucky in three months I get $2 back. I'm sorry mate I appreciate all your hard work over the years but I'm giving you a neg for this

  • +15

.75 % extra is not a deal. Just advertising. Well played though… gets the publicity.

  • +2

no trust with cashreward. most ebay trns will not track.

    • +1

Mine have gone through every single time for ebay..
Contact them through the help page.

      • If they don't track for whatever reason they won't do anything.

        • -1

          Try contacting them dude.
Hope this isn't the same approach you have when you have a problem with someone in your life.

        • -1

@cwongtech: I contacted them and they said tough luck. Hope this isn't the same approach you have with a problem in your life.

        • @wxyz234:
Got a screenshot of their response please?
Highly doubtful of that exact response.

Hope this isn't the same approach you have with a problem in your life.

I'm trying to help everyone. This is the same approach I would have for any problem in my life :)

    • +4

Your grammar is torture to my eyes

  • +10

This is just advertising, discount not worth the hassle

    • Not worth the hassle of clicking 2 links?

  • +12

Move to the forums - this is not a bargain.
I'm sure most dedicated CR members have been emailed about this already.

  • +33

To be honest, passing this off as a "bargain" is borderline insulting.

And the fact it has so many upvotes just goes to show how blindly people follow certain posters..

    • +1

      Well said 👌

    • +5

Awwwww man, didn't realise this was a TA post, how do I change my neg to an up-vote? Someone really needs to develop an auto up-vote script so we can blindly follow people off a cliff.

  • +9

If someone posted a "deal" saving you 0.75% it would get nagged into oblivion. This is not a deal, move to the forum.
