Very gooood price for the new QC 30's. Don't think they have been this cheap since the release 3 months ago!!

    • just bought one :)

  • Tempting but after my QC20i's didn't last so long (<2 years) I think I'll avoid this time around. No doubt they're great but I guess with a lot of travelling for work/personal, the cable didn't last :( That being said if you are more delicate than me, these are great prices.

    • +1

I have the QC20i's too….. that's exactly my concern……if the Battery or the cable fails it's all over.

      • How long do the batteries usually last?

        • Life expectancy (charge cycles)? Good question. I would hope something similar to a mobile phone in terms of charge cycles. But as with anything with a non-replacable battery, they are essentially a disposable item.

        • @ash2000: They quote 500 charge cycles. The non replaceable battery was why I waited to get them. The Bose store had a $280 deal on the QC20s so I jumped.
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/277637

They are really good headphones and I only need to charge them about once a week so far. You can still use them has headphones, even if you don't have them in noise cancelling, so they aren't quite disposable just less useful.

We have the QC15s as well, and I love the fact we can replace the battery in these so we probably won't be getting the QC35s anytime soon.

        • -1

@try2bhelpful: only 500 …. Jesus. Was hoping for more.

I have the QC25's also …. It is nice to be able to replace the battery and the cable. I dropped my ipad whilst wearing the QC25's, the 3.5mm plug snapped off (I was able to remove it from the iPad). Had this happened with the QC20s it would have been very expensive indeed as it would be the end of them.

$280 is a good price, however, I managed to pick mine up for $194….super bargain. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/174568

        • @ash2000: 500 recharges is plenty. Considering a charge can last up to a week, that's nearly 10 years of useage out of the set.

        • @ash2000:

Battery cycle isn't the issue… it's charged via microusb (at least my qc20's) so you could always have it connected to a battery pack.. but when the 3.5mm plug is damaged you're stuffed.

      • Just bring it to a bose store, they'll give you a discount on a new pair or something.

  • Out of stock for qc30 already???

  • Do Harvey Norman stock the QC30?

    • No Bose showing up on their website anymore; is anyone having luck getting them in store?

  • +2

    QC35 are $400

  • what do you mean by dont forget the cashback?

    • +1

You can get up to 8% cashback if you redirect to Microsoft Store from cashrewards or pricepal. I am not sure about the amount but you can definitely get some money back.

  • +1

Bose QC35s come out to be around $367 after 8% cashback - great time to pick one up in my opinion, I don't envision them being any cheaper at this time (though who knows, I may be wrong).

    • +1

It says *up to 8% cashback" and listed out some special terms eg. Cashback on Surface: 4.00 % , Cashback on Phones: 4.00 % , Cashback on Software: 8.00 % etc. It does't say anything about cashback on headphones unless it falls under the cashback for "Cashback on Hardware: 1.00 %" which doesnt seem to good.

Thinking of pulling the trigger on the Bose Q35 though.

      • Ohh right, thanks for pointing that out, I didn't notice. I've already made my order anyways, not so sure now if I got myself a bargain now that it'll be $400 :/

You reckon it'll get any lower?

        • $400 is still a very good price. Lowest I've seen was around $380 (also from MS just recently) but don't think it'll happen again IMO. So tempted to get one as well @ $400 but I got some headphones already and really need to save up for holidays haha. Still deciding though!! Arg

        • @Pepsii: If it's any help, these are actually my second pair. Careless me lost my first pair on the train couple weeks ago, I was devastated. I'm not one to spend a few hundred dollars on an item - especially after I just lost them, but these headphones proved me wrong.

        • @tastycheeks: Just bit the bullet and finally bought one also. Good for my upcoming flight at least!

  • +1
Merged from Bose QuietComfort 35 Wireless Headphones (Black), $399.20 Now, from Microsoftstore

Thought was $450, when checked out, found $399. Just got one.

    • Ooooooooooo

    • niceeee, even better with TRS

      • Quick, book a flight. But in all seriousness, they are brilliant on flights.

        • Haha I have the QC25's, they are as good! (No wireless)

Also flying off soon so yes :p

        • @justcallmeboss: Having flown recently with both the QC25 and QC35, I much prepared the wireless. My travelling partner, however, preferred the wired. Both are an excellent solution in making travelling pleasant.

        • @Daabido: nice! Was the QC35 more comfy? Or the fact that there were no wires was a big plus??

        • +1

@justcallmeboss: Comfiness wise they are very similar. I just loved the no wires, although i brought my own entertainment so I didn't have to plug in to the onboard system. Both are just great.

    • Thanks

    • Someone mentioned that Harvey Norman started to sell Bose now but I can't find it anywhere on their website.

    • Question people

I usually use wireless earbuds(Jaybird x2) for gym how do headphones go ?

Anyone with experience with both ?

    • For original deal, see here

Funny how this post already has more + votes

    • Yup, just bought a silver pair. Been waiting since they dropped the prices to $379 a few weeks ago. After TRS, I believe its $362.91. Lucky that I am going overseas soon. Anyone know how 'fast' the express delivery of Microsoft is?

    • Dont forget cash rewards.

    • anyone using these with PS4?

      • I'm interested in this too.

All leads point to no though…

    • How is it during flight

    • -8

Any one who pays 399.20 for a headphone shouldn't be ozbargaining.

  • Thanks OP. Just bought one.

  • Thanks OP. Bought one. Was going to go through cashrewards but saw you only get 1% cashback for Hardware.

    • Isn't it 4% with standard cashback?

      • There are different % cashback on the cashrewards site for different categories. There isn't really an audio/headphone category so I guess it'll be correct to assume it's under hardware which is 1%? I'm not too sure either.

        • On Microsoft site these are listed under Accessories and for that category Cashrewards is offering 4% CB.

  • Ooh, heres some $1000 headphones, top stuff

  • +2

I did it, pulled the trigger on a QC35.

    • +1

Yeah, I heard this bargain last time and didn't pull the trigger. I pulled the trigger just now, I won't hear the next bargain!

      • Agreed! I feel it's best if I delete my alert for this.

  • QC35 or the Sony H.Ear On for $249?? Is the Bose NC $150 better?

    • Checkout Comparison on Youtube and decide. End of the day, it is all personal preference.

  • Trying to decide between getting the QC35 now or get the MDR1000X from amazon for a little more.

    • Define a little more. Personally. If sony was $50 to $100 more than what i got the qc35. I might have gotten the sony.

    • MDR1000X on Amazon is US$410 ~ AU $ 570.

    • +1

Just wait a little, sony will drop the price! It's the same with all of them. I got the sony for $493 from jbhifi when they were first released, so I'm pretty sure they will go on sale again.

      • But not bellow $450, I think that is the price point that they can really compete with Bose.

  • +3

Some comments about the cash back rate through cashrewards…Purchased QC35 through cashrewards and got an email stating cashback would be $14.52, which means 3.6%.

    Final price is therefore $384.68.

  • Are there any larger ear pads replacements for these?

  • Can anyone comment on the noise cancelling performance of these or the QC25s? I have a pair of the QC25s and can still hear very audible aircraft noise, as well as general noises around the office (keyboard, distant voices etc) - not sure if faulty or if this is normal? I have a few trips coming up and was considering upgrading to the QC35s.

    • It doesnt completely shut out the noise. Just droning repetitive sound. It does muffle the sound of most noises. You wouldn't want it to completely drown out ambient sound anyway. You could get hit by a vehicle crossing the road if so.

As for silencing the aircraft noise completely. Thats never happening either as being seated this vibrates your body just enough and registers as noise also.

The biggest difference with the qc25 and qc35 is wireless and inbuilt rechargeable battery.

    • I have both the QC25 and QC20, as well as a host of other noise cancelling headphones. The QC25 is the best noise cancelling BY FAR, so if that's not good enough for you, there will be nothing that is. I haven't tried the Sony MDR1000XB though; they're like $700 and from what I've read, but might be the only ones that are (marginally) better as far as noise cancelling is concerned.

  • Hey guys not sure if someone's already mentioned but I just price matched this at the Bose store in Brisbane (Indooroopilly). For those who don't want to wait for postage :)

  • QC35 in black are now out of stock.
The silver version seems available at the same price of 399.20.

  • Just priced match the qc35 at Myers for $399 I asked for the black ones

    • Which Myers have you tried???

    • Just got mine at Myer Brisbane City. One staff initially rejected the price match from Microsoft Store saying it's not a retail chain despite a physical store in Sydney and the lowest they can match is the price from video pro. Negotiatied with a different staff and managed to get them to match Microsoft Store's price but they'll need to put it down in their system as video pro price match.. Not really sure why..

  • Noice, finally pulled the trigger on QC35's

  • Thanks picked up a pair of the silver QC35's.

  • Just dropped by JB Hifi in Pacific Fair and they didn't want to know about price matching the QC35's. So I ordered the silver at Microsoft Store. Cannot wait to use them!

  • Just purchased the Silver QC35's for $399.20 and also claimed ~800 Qantas FF Points by clicking through from the Qantas Online Mall.
Visited JB HiFi earlier today @ Chadstone to test both the QC35's and Sony MDR-1000X's. For me, the sound quality/NC was acceptable on both models, but the Bose was significantly more comfortable (which I value for long haul flights). You really can't go wrong with either though - however if you're interested in the Sony's I'd suggest you wait for a sale, as they have previously been as low as the $490ish mark (currently $699 at JB).

  • So I tried to price match the Microsoft Store price at Harvey Norman Chadstone. They acknowledged the the Microsoft price was very good. When I asked them to price match they said they would not because the Microsoft store doesn't have a physical presence in Victoria….even though this criteria is not mentioned in their price match guarantee.

They would do them for $470 however - which works out ok(ish), because if you use the $100 Amex cash back it brings them down to $370. Even better, there was an additional AmEx $50 cashback on $300 spend which was sent out on the 23rd December. It turns out these offers stack. So net result is $320 for the QC35..

Still not terribly impressed with H/N's price match guarantee…..

    • Is there a manual enrollment form for the Amex $50 targeted

Harvey Norman Spend $300 get $50 back* Offer available until 31 March 2017 Register your card for this offer. Then, when you spend $300 or more in one or more transactions - online or in-store - at Harvey Norman before 31 March 2017, you can receive a $50 credit. Hurry, this offer is limited to the first 5,000 Cards to register. Exclusions apply.

I see there was one for the Woolworths targeted

  • Couldn't find any Bose headphones at my local Harvey Norman. JB Hi-Fi were happy to match though, after a quick chat the manager.

    • Can you upload your Jb receipt? Just in case my local isn't keen anymore since it's out of stock

  • +1

Just priced matched the qc35s at Bose emporium Vic cbd

    • You price matched at an actual Bose store?

      • Sure did. I asked do you price match and they said yes. Showed them the ad from Microsoft and he just asked black or silver.

  • +1

Also price matched the QC35's at Bose Emporium even though the website said sold out. They didnt care

  • FYI for those who live in Sydney, they still might have the stock in the physical store :)

  • +1

    • Ah man if I knew this I would have the qc30 as I was unsure of them or qc35 since I never used over ear before

  • these only work with andriod??? wtf

  • Great headphone, worth it. Price matched in Myer store with $20 extra bonus gift card. So ends up with paying $379 : )
(BTW, the myer Sydney CBD store they refused to price match to Microsoft because they think Microsoft is not retail store. A bit silly, Microsoft opened the first retail store just beside of myer… haha )

  • these only work with andriod??? wtf

    • Which of the four headphones listed are you referring to?

      • QC20/25 $319.20 (Samsung and Android Devices) @ Microsoft Store

        • they will work as headphones just not the inline remote. thats either android or apple depending on the cable you get.

        • @xoom: can we switch cables?

        • @SimpleRoger: you can switch cables. Both are 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable. The only difference is the in line controls.

        • @xoom: the cable for QC20 cannot be changed

        • @z88713188: my bad. was talking about the qc25

  • Has anyone's QC35 order been dispatched yet?
