I heard he runs on Ozbargain Eneloops.

        • I heard he runs on Nespresso.

Hey how are you finding these prices cause some are not coming up for me?

Eg: Go Pro for $179 also yesterday deal Go Pro 5 for $488 also not coming up?

I am in WA so maybe its WA thing as prices not reflective here…but doubt it?

EDIT: Figured it out, sales price is at checkout. Thanks :)

  • The $50 credit won't really tie in as it ends in a few hours by the look of it. 5am on the 26th.

    • +1

Yeah lets hope they get those prices changing quick :)

      • The prices have just changed. Thanks. :)

      • +1

So it seems your links are actually active now (new prices when added to cart) and will tie in with the $50 credit for the next couple of hours at least.
It must have only just happened as I have been keeping an eye on the Dyson V6 as I know it was meant to go to $498, which isn't as cheap as the recent 20% off eBay deals, but I figured with the $50 credit it would at least get close. The Dyson had stayed at $549 though until sometime in the last 30 mins. Now when I add it to cart it goes down to the $498, so I grabbed it to get the $50 credit also. Thanks mate. Champion.

Edit: beaten by 2 minutes :)

        • I was thinking to buy that V6 Absolute in that famous recent deal, but this review video killed my enthusiasm: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hy-kX2nRVAE

        • +2

@AussieDaddy: Mine is a V6 & is easy to get crap out after a big clean, I just pull with my fingers or tap a few times and It easily comes out, I can also clean 4 big rooms, bathroom, laundry & hallways and it never runs out :)

        • @TRENT86: Hmm! I wish I didn't come across that review when that last deal was on. Even some people were saying in the comment section that it's noisy (is it?) compared to the V8 Absolute, plus all other negative stuff like less running time and a lot less powerful etc.

        • @AussieDaddy: Mine is noisy yes but no noisier that my old barrel piece of crap, you don't notice it after a while when using it. Only time I have had a running time problem was when someone put the max power button accidently on so it drained quicker.

        • @TRENT86: Yup, it's that quick drainage one of the reasons why I didn't rush into buying it. But I am sure there are people who are quick cleaners, or not interested into using the max mode who missed out on that last deal and will take advantage of this one. Thanks for the awesome work, as always.

        • @AussieDaddy: yeah I was also tossing up between the V6 & the V8 because of s few things in that exact same review (don't forget there is also a video of what they like about the V6), but at the end of the day I just could not just justify the jump in price for the V8 as in my situation I am essentially only going to be using it for 1 room in my whole house (my home theatre) which is the only carpeted room in my entire house, with the rest being laminate floorboards. So the extra run time of the V8 and the quieter motor is something that doesn't really affect my situation. (I also read that the use of a chopstick makes the cleaning out process easier, sort of a first world issue though)
TBH, I was even thinking the V6 is a bit of waste for 1 room, until I used the mother in laws (a few days after the last sale had ended) and realised how much of difference it made vs my bulky weretheim corded vacuum cleaner. From that moment on I wanted one because of how much easier it made cleaning this room & to manoeuvre around (and under) the HT lounge/recliners etc.

@TRENT86, how do you find the regular mode for carpet? Not the max/7 minute mode?

        • @Raptors: In that case the V6 is definitely the one you should go for. My place is 2 bedrooms, a large sitting room and a kitchen (not sure if people use the vacuum in the restroom though lol), and it's very dusty where I live (on top of that, my floors aren't carpeted, except a small one in my bedroom), so something powerful is the only that can clean my place.

PS: I didn't even realize there was a 'What we like about V6 Absolute' until you've just mentioned. Yeah, you should go for it.

        • @AussieDaddy:

I have the V6 Slim (I think it was about $250 with the previous eBay 20%).

My place is 2 bedrooms and I have long hair and a dog, it's never ran out of power.

20 minutes doesn't sound like a lot, but in practice you can get a fair bit done.

The cannister is only a pain to empty if you let it fill up, as the crap compresses and becomes harder to remove.

I basically empty after every room and it falls out, otherwise it will eventually get stuck.

Yes, it it loud, but all vacuums are (it's quieter than my mains vacuum).

My only real complain is if you have shaggy carpet, this isn't powerful enough and the motorised head will seize up from the carpet pile.

        • @Scab: So does the V6 Slim have the same motor as the V6 Animal & Absolute, or they're entirely different motors/capacities? With all their different names it's confusing to know which one is which sometimes.

I have got an old, cheapo, corded vacuum cleaner so I might wait until the next models come out and the V8 Absolute becomes cheaper or something.

  • Good work!

Wondering if anything is worth a slightly-rushed buy before the offer ends at 5am, but store credit just isn't worth it.

  • is the GoPro lcd a good buy?

  • Was thinking to buy the rice cooker and the Sony portable radio, but might only get the radio. Product Review users weren't too kind to the rice cooker. lol

    • The reviews on the good guys site seem alright

      • Hmm! Not sure if I can go with reviews made on the same site that sold products (how independent are they?). Even on PR it's like 50/50, but I might not use it that often (never owned one before anyway), so I might give it a miss. :)

        • I have never trusted that site product review if that's what you were looking it, it seems really off most of the time

        • @TRENT86: Yeah, they are harsh with their reviews most of the time, but there were a few things I bought based on their reviews and they were spot on in those occasions.

        • +1

          @AussieDaddy: Fair enough :)

        • +2
        • @tonester: The second comment mentioned 'tiger or zojirushi rice cooker'. Never heard of those before, though the comment got more +votes.

Will keep an eye on the sales of the cooker then. If they seem to sell faster then I might buy one. ;)

        • +2

          @AussieDaddy:

Tiger and Zoji are much more expensive and have fancy features.

Honestly, rice cookers are pretty simple, I've never used a shitty one.

Even the el-cheapo ones do a good job, and you can always take it back if you don't like it.

        • @Scab: Ta. Will get this one since it's only $25.

        • @AussieDaddy: famous last OzBargain words…

        • @Jackson: Can't help but waltz into that Matilda, mate. :-)

        • @Scab: The cheapo Kambrook one you can get from Kmart or BigW I can confirm is very shitty! Always has some rice sticking at the bottom no matter what type of rice and what quantity of water.

    • Yeah, was looking at the rice cooker the other day, pretty much all of the reasonably priced ones had crappy reviews, especially Breville. I figure I might go for it anyway, but damn I hate buying appliances. It'd almost be better if product review didn't exist.

      • I know what you mean. But again, given the sale price it isn't that expensive so I'll give it a shot. Even if it cooks decent/acceptable rice it will be worth the $25 (whenever I cook rice I use the regular pots, and with those you have to constantly check and stir it).

        • You don't have to constantly stir it.. The trick is to let it boil, stir once, cover again and simmer over the lowest heat setting. When the water has been absorbed turn the heat off, wait 10 minutes and yo are done.

        • @empty456: I have been trying different methods for many years, and to get it perfect is a matter of chance for me. Maybe the fact that I don't cook very often is the reason why I don't get it perfect, I think. haha

  • Thanks Trent.

Amazes me how much cordless phones have plummeted in price.

  • Any one know of a deal for Chromecast Audio? And a small stereo to go with it?

My house is music-less and these sales are confusing!

  • Thanks mate. Grabbed the printer., it looks useful enough.

Anyone have the link to breville BES920?

    • Yeah, I can't find this either, I only find the dynamic duo for $1298

      • You need to go into your local GG. I just picked one up from my local for $790.
PS Seems to be in-store only.2 left in Bundall, on the Gold Coast.

  • The Seagate 2TB Expansion Portable HDD is $99 which isn't a bad price.

Confirmed to be usable to upgrade PS4: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/279309#comment-4228470

I'm going to walk up to Officeworks this morning to price beat for $94.05.

    • Go for the 3TB Seagate at office works it is only $115.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/282758

      • Cheers - would have but it is too big (physically) to fit in the PS4.

        • FYI for anyone reading at home, process is super easy. The biggest bottleneck is the time taken to back-up your data to an external HDD if you don't want to re-download PSN games or re-install game data from discs etc.

The drive fits perfectly, and it's possible to not damage the portable case, such that I've now put the original 500GB PS4 drive into the casing and using it as a spare portable.

          Cheers.

  • I am in the market for a soundbar and thought this one was a good deal https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/samsung-soundbar-340w-hw-k550

The reviews seem great https://www.avforums.com/review/samsung-hw-k550-soundbar-rev… and the price at TGG is cheaper than JB ($456) and HN ($448).

My local TGG didn't have it in stock, but I was able to get HN to price match. Paid and will hopefully pick up later today!

    • How did you get HN to price match a product at this time of a public holiday morning? Can one do online price matching?

      • Yes I just used the online chat that came up in the bottom corner of the site.

        • I see. So how did they do the price match through the chat line? Do they send you like a personalized link that you can follow to complete the purchase or something?

        • +1

@AussieDaddy: Yeah, an email with a link that had the soundbar in the card, with a personalised discount code applied.

        • @cjmoore: Great. Never knew they do that. Thanks for the 411.

  • I got Nespresso Citiz for same price boxing day last year - and this was the good model before the stingy manufacturer removed the tray feature :)

  • A warning about the VR headset, it looks like a VR box clone, they have the worst field of view, highly recommend trying before you buy, they are usually 7 bucks shipped from China. Might be doing people a favour to remove from the listing.

Cheaper to buy 3x printers than ink for my current printer

  • Is their website screwing up or is it just me? Can't check out.
    EDIT: worked with paypal checkout

It was kinda slow for me about two hours too. Probably Boxing Day shoppers are in full attack mode now.
