Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

Master131 spends a lot of time creating and maintaining the script at Project Zero Three that we all know and love.

Or maybe for some reason they don't want to put 98 in their car? I agree its a stretch but I just thought I'd ask before I $2 it…

    • I wont mind one mate. Considering I am still learning from this thread on how to make this work. Thanks

      • +1

No worries, just sent you a PM.

        • Thanks mate. Received and would be respectfully used tonight :)

          • @varunynr: If you've got an android toy, PM me with and I'll give you instructions. Helpful if you know your android version.

            • @[Deactivated]: Sorry mate just noticed your message now. I have android version 8.0.0

    U98 111.5 Eltham Eltham North VIC 3095

  • +2

Have 2x U98 40L @ $1.115. PM me if you can use them within the next 24 hours, although they expire later.

My car got rear-ended (for which I had locked in the U98) so now I'm using a rental car which takes E10, and need to use up the vouchers so I can lock in E10 this time.

    Both taken, thanks :)

  • If you share a lock in voucher can that person use your credit from the account?

    • No they can not, it's a seperate barcode.

    • If you share the voucher via screenshot they can't.

  • +3

Seems that ULP is on the rise.

7/11 Hampton (VIC) and WOW Clarinda (VIC) are both $1.399 for U91.

Might pay to start locking in.

    • Not sure about other states but generally WAs most expensive day is Tuesday.

      • Other states are on a four or five week cycle.

Running the Fuel Lock web portal here - http://dev.ethergroup.com.au:5000/ (Non HTTPS) - Don't use it if it matters to you as i don't have the time to mess with web servers and set up let's encrypt.

      Nice try FBI

    • docker pull linuxserver/letsencrypt

    • Noob question but what credentials do I enter in?

      • your 7-11 account id and pwd

    • Hey @catalystic

Thanks for taking the time tweaking the old into the new. Much appreciated.

      Some feedback…

      • I logged in no issue.
      • I tried to lock in U98 and got googlemaps.exceptions.ApiError screen.

Thanks again for your awesome work,

      • Thank you - I'll fix in a moment, Google keeps revoking my API for some reason.

        • Sorry just saw your reply

          • @sharka: Should be good to go now, just generated a new API.

            • @Schema: Thanks Catalystic
              Strange message now…

              Oops, error:
The fuel price is too high compared to the cheapest available. The cheapest we found was at 3095. Try locking in there!

              • @sharka: What happens if you manually enter the postcode?
It's possible it's cheaper elsewhere and masters script hasn't updated? i'm not sure - i haven't gotten that error before.

                • @Schema: I'm getting the same error. I tried manual for U98 and it doesn't work.

                  • @pieman08: Looks like they were changing the price. I unfortunately took 125.6c

      • -7

        @Catalystic - I'm experiencing the same as @Dud.

Here is the full log if it helps?

The debugger caught an exception in your WSGI application. You can now look at the traceback which led to the error.
To switch between the interactive traceback and the plaintext one, you can click on the "Traceback" headline. From the text traceback you can also create a paste of it. For code execution mouse-over the frame you want to debug and click on the console icon on the right side.

You can execute arbitrary Python code in the stack frames and there are some extra helpers available for introspection:

dump() shows all variables in the frame
dump(obj) dumps all that's known about the object
Brought to you by DON'T PANIC, your friendly Werkzeug powered traceback interpreter.

Same here I reported two days ago, everyone neg the post.

        • +1

Sorry, I'm not perfect at coding, still learning.

    • +4

I've got it running on port 80 now, so no need for port after it

I'll implement SSL over the weekend probably, decided to dockerize it and will read over the logs when people have issues.
As it's freighters script, i don't know the complete ins and outs of it, but just learning.

      • @catalystic - thanks for all your help :)

      • +1

Down at the moment, implementing some changes.

        • +3

Why are people negging @Catalystic for?

S/he is busting their nut to help you.

          • +1

@COVID-19: Not sure who is, but really appreciate all of @Catalystic's work

            • +2

@sharka: Disclaimer: I did not neg anyone in this comment.

I just want to say these private 3-rd party websites can get your general email with password. Once the owner of these websites get these, s/he can try login other websites with your credentials, not only your 7-11 account. Thus, people' online accounts are hacked. I think that's why some people negged it.

I won't use any of these websites even it seems convenient to lock a price.

              • @Neoika: Each to their own i guess, It's freighters script which is open-sourced so you can see what it is doing.

      • I'm tryng to run up the script but getting this error.

File "7Eleven-Python-master/app.py", line 125, in lockedPrices
        'X-DeviceID':deviceID,
NameError: global name 'deviceID' is not defined

        Any ideas why?
Maybe because I already have a price locked?

        • I'm not sure - I made some edits to his script so mines slightly different to Freighters, but the main portion is from his.

      • @Catalystic
        Implement SSL:

        1. pip install pyopenssl
        2. Update app.py line 486 to
          >app.run(debug=True,host='0.0.0.0',ssl_context='adhoc')
        3. Run the app
        • Can't use PyOpenSSL with docker, i'm looking into alternatives at the moment.

          • @Schema: Check my previous comment and use reverse proxy. That way you can have ssl on multiple webapps with just one certificate.

      • You are a legend mate. Keep up the good work.

    • Hey Catalystic,

      Is this github'd?

      Can I grab the source?

      • It's Freighters script - he's made a comment about it, on mobile at the moment so can't source it for you sorry!

        • thanks mate! found it

Looks like petrol in Melb is on it's way up. A few have bumped up 91 to 139.9

  • +4

I have a spare U98 111.5 voucher. First to PM me.

    • Claimed

  • To those couple of people that are running my script, try pulling the latest changes. It should fix your problems with the DeviceID being a bugger. Also I updated the AppVersion to the latest (1.7.0.2009).

On a side note, you can change the part where it says "DeviceName":"HTC6525LVW" in the login function to a different device name if you want. I.e. if you have a Galaxy S9 the DeviceName would probably be "Samsung SM-G960U" or similar to that.

  • +3

    I have a spare U98 111.5 voucher.anyone want to use it?

    • Hi.. When does it expire?

      Cheers!

      • expire in 2 days, better to use it soon

        • Happy to take it off you, if you not going to use.
          Cheers!

          • @FindMeADeal: already uploaded to my files,bt don’t know how to send it to you:)

    U95 108.9 Hampton Park VIC

    • Thanks. Locked it in.

  • Anyone elses app stuck on finding best local prioce??

    • Did you lock in twice within 24 hours?

    • Do you have the latest v1.7 Patched APK v2. The previous version did that on older androids.

  • Freighter updated his script which supposedly fixed alot of the errors people were receiving.
Made the changes live on dev.ethergroup.com.au

    Decision process: U91 U95 or U98

Woolies Melb (north melbourne) has U91 at 109.9.
    IE: less 4c & less 5%via e-gift cards
U91 can be obtained at approx 100.6/L.

*U95 now at 108.9 (Hampton Park)?
*U98 at 111.5 from old Eltham lock?

I decided on U98… How not very OzB of me…

    OzB decisions/ problems

    • Lol

    • We don't shop at Woolies so if I wanted that 4c off I'd have to go dumpster diving.. To save $2…

      • You must live in a really clean suburb, my local Woolies has receipts lying around everywhere.

    • My personal preference is to use MIN U95, based on discussions with my mechanic and reading articles about performance, purity of fuels and comparisons of RON vs economy. If the net price of U98 is within 3-4c/L, I'll use U98 but generally my opinion is there's no financial benefit above this price differential.
      Just one man's opinion.

      • 91 also has a lot of sulphur.

  • +1

Just saved $25 on the fortnightly fillup. Cheers!

    • -5

      Nice!
      - NAME OF 7/11 STORE?
      - PETROL TYPE?
      - PETROL PRICE?

      • +2

How is that relevant? I used the 98 111.5 lock at a store near me. I 'saved' $25. Though it isn't a 'true saving' as we would have gone to a BP near us instead and paid $1.35/L, so we actually saved $12 in real terms which is still a great saving.

  • Is anyone having issues installing with the patched version 1.7? I uninstalled my previous 1.6 patched version and I keep getting a error 'app not installed' I previously modified the 1.6 patched version with all editor to install in SD card instead of internal drive which worked but now when I modify the patched 1.7 it doesn't attempt to install in sd card only internal memory :/

  • I'm new to this locking business. Is there a way to unlock a price so you can lock a lower price?
i did some searching and looked at the FAQ but can't find out…… which leads me to believe I can't.

    • +2

      you believe correctly
if you're that desperate to get a different lock in then fill up with a small amount, give it away or have a second account

      • thought so. thanks.
        Not desperate so i'll wait.

  • +6

I think maybe OP can add another FAQ like section on the top of this thread. How many times do the same questions keep coming up? Although I get 58 pages in can get long…

Yes I've made the same n00b mistakes but reoccurring ones seems to be 1)Unlocking 2)Issues with locking (mock locations) 3)Expiry account/gift card issues

    Just a thought.

    • +1

click on comments and its only 6 pages ;)

    • +1

Sounds like we gotta spoon feed those who can't simply do a Ctrl + F on their question.

      • -2

I didn't realize there was a comments link (Thanks SBOB).
        I wasn't going to Ctrl F 58 pages.

    • +1

We've seen people ask the same questions even if it were answered on the same page. Besides, it should not be very difficult to search for the answer if the same question has been answered several times.

      • -4

Got it. Don't ask another question again unless I want shame and negativity directed at me. Thanks again.

        • -1

My statement was very broad, and this thread is a very long one with hundreds of participants. I don't even know you, and have no idea what you may or may not have asked, and this is the first message of yours that I'm reading. But you appear to be accusing me of something already, and I'm not sure what it is.
