    Damn those speakers are cheap.

    • +1

the reason why they're cheap is:

      http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/powerful-thx-sound-z62…

      if you want optical in

      • +3

        Honest question, does it matter?

        • +1

you wont get any crosstalk/interference with optical i guess…

        • +1

          @tonyjzx:
Unless these have fantastic internal shielding, that's only true until you get downstream of the DAC. In real world use on this level of speaker I doubt it matters unless for some reason you lack analogue output.

        • @blackmagic:

yes but most interference is usually the analog cable back to the pc

with optical, once it hits the dac and is inside the speaker itself its clean enough since it only has to pass the amps and its only spk cables which I assume is pretty high quality or at least, tested in their lab

        • +1

          @tonyjzx:
If it's anything like the old z5500 the DAC will be in the satellite and the amp in the sub. Still around 1.5m of wire to pick up interference.

I know what you're saying is technically true in that it's "better", but I just doubt there will be any real world difference on a speaker at this level. It's not like the old z623 without optical were unusable due to interference.

        • @blackmagic:

It would matter more for people who use two devices connected to the speakers… say a PC and a laptop or a console since you're introducing more sources of interference…

Put it this way, if the 625 is say $20 more then I'd say fine. Its $159 vs, this $99 then I'd let it go.

Mores the point, why did they not put in USB audio out?

      • Any other differences between z623 and z625?

      • But as far as i can tell they are not for sale anywhere in Australia.
        http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=Logitech+Z625&s…

      • Analog input only. Would have preferred digital input on these. As tonyjzx: mentioned the newly released z625 has digital input. The z625 is basically the same as the z623 with the addition of an optical input. Would be good if they get released locally.

Dam just bought these speakers a month ago at $119 at binglee and back then was a bargain at the time this is even better of a deal ;)

  • No postage option for the speakers? I can get the printer posted for $10 but not the speakers?

    • +2

Postage is available but excludes regional areas in some states and PO Box. If the location in your profile is accurate it seems your postcode is part of QLD regional so won't ship there:

      Posting to: Australia
Excludes: QLD Regional, SA Regional, VIC Regional, WA Regional, WA Remote, PO Box

The printer includes QLD regional however:

      Posting to: Australia
Excludes: Northern Territory, Perth Metro, QLD Far North, SA Regional, VIC Regional, WA Regional, WA Remote, PO Box

      • I think they have just stripped postage completely for the speakers, now showing as:

        Postage:
        In-store pickup only

        I'll have a closer look.

        • +1

That's the thing that annoys me the most about Bing Lee, they always change if an item can be posted or not! Been plenty of items that have done that over their deals.

        • still says postage for me.

I had these speakers. The power on and off button got stuck also there's this constant humming sound when the speaker is left on. Annoying…

    • +1

Not humming noise on my pair so far :)

      • No humming here either, they're a pretty great 2.1 setup. Actually onto my second set of these. First ones got a bit beat up, but I liked them so much, I bought them again.

    • +2

Agree that the build quality of the power button is rubbish - but the speakers are quite good.

    • +1

Speaker and Computer connected to the same power socket?

  • Is the printer any good?

Some feedback from past deals from those who own one:

      Here
      Here
      Here

According to here it's the same as MG2960, all the specs are identical on Canon page so that makes sense.

      Specs
      4/5 1 review
      3.3/5 3 reviews OW
Choice review if you have access

No USB cable included but has wireless & reports it has full cartridge which might make it better than the normal wired half cartridge options if correct, expect the usual situation where replacement ink is more expensive of course.

  • Shame the laptop only has 32gb.

    • Can confirm this little powerhouse of a laptop is great for anyone who hates tablets and needs a real keyboard and a very good trackpad
Micro Sd up to 64gb — perfect for BYOD at this price! And it's the newer version with usb3

Also 900grams is beautiful for uni classes <3

$79.20 including free shipping was the cheapest price for Z623 from Bing Lee eBay. Bought mine from that deal. It was even cheaper with cashrewards or OW price match.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/200300

    • Aussie dollar was way better then.

      • 76.5c then, 75.6c now.

        • Ok I stand corrected.

  • Speaker reviews of the Z623 are interesting as it has a proprietary cable which connects the second speaker- it looks like a vga male plug. This limited how far apart you can separate the speakers.

Other views of the are encouraging, given the size of the speaker.

    • True but how far do you really want to separate them? They are made to be on your computer desk or TV desk. Not made to be 3m away from each other.

  • Would I be right to say that Officeworks won't price match the speakers because of the coupon code?

    • Exactly right.

      Lowest Price Guarantee

What items are excluded from the LPG?
      Cash back and coupon offers

      • Damn :(

      • gamedude computers in springwood Qld are selling for 99 so i guess office works would beat that price

  • Can anyone recommend a speaker system like this that has coax inputs? Damn my Platinum UHD impulse buy!
Prefer to run the sound out of the TV. My sources are PS4 (HDMI+Toslink) and Mac Mini (HDMI+3.5mm). TV is coax out only.

  • +2

The Z623's are a really good 2.1 setup for the price & sound decent. Plenty of bass for music, gaming & watching movies. I have a set hooked up to my laptop, and a set hooked up to my television.

    • yes, they are very nice speakers. I used to have one a few years ago till one day it stopped working after leaving the blinds open for the whole day in the hot weather.

      • Oh no, sorry to hear that mate. But heat should not ruin them, though.

    • Wait, you have two? Was thining of getting one but just purchased the Z533 back on Boxing Day. Sort of regret it now.

  • who will use eebook nowadays?

    • +1

Would make a perfect micro PC, you could even install any flavour of linux, i'm thinking of buying it just for a back up!

  • need a monitor for everyday use , not much gaming, preferably more eye friendly screen, is this Acer R321 - 23" LED Monitor $103.20 good? or the LG 24M38H - 24" Monitor at the other post or the NEW Samsung - LS24E390HL - 23.6" LCD Monitor from Bing Lee?

    • +2

Can't really go wrong for an everyday use screen. Take note though that it only has DVI and VGA inputs (but a DVI to HDMI adapter will only set you back <$5 for Aus eBay stock if needed). Other than that, has an IPS panel, so should have much better viewing angles than the TN panels used in the LG and Samsung monitors (EDIT: Samsung uses a PLS panel which is similar to IPS in most areas) you have listed.

  • Excellent speakers!!!

  • Ah shit, bought the speakers for 115 not long ago. Gaaah :/

    They are fantastic. Would recommend.

  • Any other speakers here under a good deal?

I have a compact setup and would prefer a smaller system.

  • The netbook should be able to take an SSD right?

  • The speakers have sold out or been removed in the last 30 mins

  • Just got a call informing me that I can pick the speakers up today.

  • Argh! Speakers sold out. Missed it.. again!
Have these ever been known to restock during the sale?

    • Yes it's possible, happened with the Galaxy S5 black listing momentarily.

    • +1

      Speakers are available again here

      Thanks to HeisenbergMelb below.

Booyah! Nice upgrade to my X-530 speakers for parties. The X-530s were good enough for our wedding ceremony all those years back. I kid you not I had a mate on a laptop connected to one of these playing the wedding march etc and it was a mediumish size hall. I can't turn up the X-530s at a kids party without the oldies complaining so I'm going to have to find a different place to put the new speakers this year.

    Thanks OP!

    • Replying to myself. Volume of the z623 is very comparable to X-530 and X-540. In fact they're a tad buzzier turned up loud and I'm more concerned at the possibility of blowing a speaker (but that could be paranoia). I don't own the current z506 to compare with, but I'd say these are quicker and more convenient to set up (though heavier!) and have a little more bass but if you're looking for louder speakers and already own 5.1 logitechs I would say don't bother.
