You mind explaining what there is to see over there? It's another cd key deal with one downvote due to it being cheaper somewhere else. That downvote points to a deal that is now expired.

  • There is no freaking way these are legal.
They may work fine, but the key would not be sourced legally.

      • leetec, in an effort to quash conspiracy theories and made up answers, we recently made this post. We haven't received any reports or TWAM requests from you. If you had asked we would have pointed you to this comment from a similar seller.

If you (or anyone else) feels this or anything else is illegal, then please do report this store to Microsoft and any other authorities. I've reported to them and Microsoft haven't acted nor given any advice.

        • alright, I appologize for what I said about mod.

jeessssss, the mod work on friday mid night?

        • @leetec:

          No worries. Thanks for understanding.

    • They're OEM keys. While not technically 'legal' (manufacturers buy licenses in bulk, and keys are supposed to be non-transferable), Microsoft doesn't care, won't chase up on it, and are probably just happy that someone is paying for W10.

It just because Microsoft australia can do nothing for these oversea seller, different stories if locally located.

Microsoft won't do anything, period. If they would or could, there wouldn't be billions of PCs running pirated W7. MS wanted so hard to hit W10's 1B install target (which they'll miss), they were practically giving it away. You can even do the free upgrade from a pirated W7, so yeah… no one cares.

        • they aren't pirated, as Microsoft get royalties from OEM keys …. OEM vs retail for microsoft is more about OEM you get support from where you bought it (MSY, etc) and with retail you get support from Microsoft directly via phone or email ….. be it close to useless.

OEM "system builder" used to be for a specific PC and not transferable to another PC, that changed in Windows 8, probably something to do with Europeans and restrictive trades.

I've upgraded mother boards and kept my SSD (old one USB went intermittent) and all I had to do was call Microsoft on the phone , and they re-activated.

OEM keys are supposed to part of buying some new hardware to "build a system" but it is vague what constitutes a new machine e.g CPU, mother board, or just a case.

@Strand0410: You sure know nothing about what Microsoft has DONE. Microsoft Aust.'s newsletter will regularly "TELL" the reader who has been busted for SELLING illegal MS software.

        • -1

@garage sale: You don't know much about OEM license type, This is not the system builder license you assumed, which has different form and price. Manufacture OEM and Refurbish OEM can be this cheap and digital distributed, but both license are not allowed to RESELL.

        • @leetec: Microsoft does not care, it's just lip service. Cite a single case in which someone selling OEM keys has been convicted in Australia. Frankly, I'm not losing any sleep over an unenforceable crime for not handing more money to a multibillion dollar corporation.

      • probably just happy that someone is paying for W10.

Pretty much, they gave it away so I don't think they're all that fussed about people paying.

well it only took the third comment to pop up the ol…."there is no way these are legal" disclaimer… yawn!!!!

Please tell me more about this 'world wide web'

There is a World Wide Web now?

      • +2

        No, this one is narrow.

        • And deep and dark and containing many secrets that are better left uncovered.

        • @scrimshaw: I'm getting scared now.

That description of windows 10 is very old.

Microsoft don't care about consumer keys and would love people to get onto Windows 10.

What Microsoft really care about is business and more specifically VL customers. They can request a self audit once a year with 30 days notice and if organisations don't comply then a formal audit occurs with the possibility of fines. Very common for them to find that not enough Server Cal's have been purchased or not licensed properly.

I come across audits every year and I've seen what happens when companies are involved in piracy.

    • yeah we do the "true up" and they make heaps from us in the corporate sector. with office 365 it's even easier as they know how much we consume based on subscriptions ….. and for cals….. they are pushing us to use azure.

windows 10 isn't he money spinner it's subscriptions especially office 365……

it must have hurt them so many people not upgrading office or windows server.

Quote from Bill Gates.. And as long as they're going to steal it, we want them to steal ours.

    Look it up

microsoft do well with education and corporates….. what is the alternative ….. libre office….. linux…… chrome book ….. google docs…… not really viable in a commercial environment though i guess home users who are time rich can do it …… i have a mac pc and linux on another pc so i'm not biased.

    • I bet Microsoft doesn't feel the same way about Xbox titles…

  • Has anyone here dealt with this seller before?

  • They also have some listings that claim to be retail versions on W10. What's the deal with those?

    • You can be sure that what they claim and what you get aren't going to be the same thing.

  • Their W10 pro is only about $15.22USD
